A2 technologyThe A2 continues the success of our fully mechanical automatic turntables. With the A2, you can now select the drop off point for 7“ (singles) or 12“ (LPs) for 45 RPM records. We have also added 78 RPM to the system allowing you to dig back into old shellac collections. To enjoy listening to your A2, just press start and the tonearm automatically moves to the lead in groove of the record. Once playing, the automatics are completely taken out of the equation. And because the automatics are working entirely mechanically – no additional electronics needed – they truly do not influence or degrade sound quality during playback! At the end of the record, the tonearm is automatically brought back and gently lowered into its resting position and the motor shut off.Why sub-chassis?Automatic turntables have many small mechanical parts, which means you need more hollow space in the chassis to fit them. Hollow spaces are the biggest problem as they always reinforce resonances. By using a sub-chassis, you decouple the tonearm and drive from the chassis. In other words, a sub-chassis is a MUST for automatic turntables and enables them to reach excellent sound performance.Improved Automatic MechanismWe have invested in a new aluminium diecast top for the whole sub-chassis and automatic mechanism. We have tried to avoid plastic parts from the original German automatic design as much as possible. This is the first time in all the 50 years of its existance that the original automatic design has received an improvement like this. Due to the new aluminium diecast cover and the massive chassis, the whole sub-chassis construction is more effective and isolates unwanted resonance much better.Massless Tracking Force AdjustmentThe A2 uses a new system for setting the tracking force. As usual, you first level out the tonearm with the damped counterweight. Damping the counter- weight makes the tonearm as a whole more robust and decouples the counterweight from the tonearm reducing resonant frequencies. Afterwards the tracking force is set by turning a dial directly on the tonearm bearing. Not only is this system very fast, precise and efficient, it also keeps the center of gravity directly on top of the bearing center. The spring based anti-skating can also be adjusted directly on the tonearm base.Improved Tonearm & Cardanic Bearing The A2 features an 8.3” ultra-light-mass aluminium tonearm with an improved tonearm tube with bigger diameter. The is a perfect match for the slightly heavier Ortofon 2M Red. In combination we retain the super fast response and all transient detail with lots of fine microdynamics, while the new 2M Red adds a lot of body and musical warmth. The tonearm bearing has received a major upgrade, is now made out of aluminium and features a 4-pin-point cardanic construction with steel tip ball bearings from our own production. This allows for unhindered and free tonearm movement with the lowest amount of friction possible. The A2 will track your vinyl records with the utmost of precision and tightness. Why Ultra-Light-Mass Tonearm?Since forever, there has been this technical discussion about light-weight tonearms with high compliance MM cartridges vs. heavy tonearms with low compliance MC cartridges. Both approaches have advantages and disadvantages and you‘ll find detailed analysis in concerned literature. However, when it comes to automatic turntables, we NEED ultra-light-mass tonearms. There is no way around it. We need the automatic mechanics to be like those in mechanical watches: small and precise. A heavy tonearm would result in a rougher mechanical design as much higher masses have to be moved. Therefore, the A2 reaches performance hights like no other automatic turntable on the market.

Piano Black, Acrylic Platter, Ortofon 2M Red CartridgeOur first entry-level table utilizing the unique dual-plinth technology!Focus on ComponentsThe 3-speed belt driven table was developed for those seeking a perfectly matched set of features with an uncompromising focus on sound performance. The Complete PackageThe mmf-3.3 comes complete with a tonearm and Ortofon 2M Red cartridge precision mounted. We are pleased to introduce our first entry-level table utilizing the unique dual-plinth technology originated by music hall. The mmf-3.3 embodies the culmination of over 30 years of research, development, and most important of all, listening. The 3-speed belt driven table was developed for those seeking a perfectly matched set of features with an uncompromising focus on sound performance. The 3.3 is constructed using high quality components and comes complete with a tonearm, cartridge mounted, and dust cover.Speed ControlThe 3.3 has a built-in electronic speed control for 33/45/and 78. The platter speed switches from 33 to 45 rpm at the touch of a button. 78 rpm requires the movement of the belt to a different location on the motor pulley, and the use of a different belt, included with the turntable.Carbon Fiber Arm with Bonded Alloy HeadshellThis tonearm is unique to music hall. Bonding the alloy headshell to the carbon arm-tube stiffens and dampens the carbon fiber tube. This construction significantly improves the sound and performance over similar looking one-piece carbon arms. The alloy headshell allows you to securely mount the cartridge to the tonearm without the twist and flex that is common in lesser one-piece carbon arms. Tonearms should not twist/flex as this negatively impacts the cartridge and tonearm’s ability to properly track the record groove. On many one-piece carbon tonearms, you can literally pinch the cartridge end of arm between your thumb and forefinger and twist/flex the arm-tube. Try this with the music hall and the tonearm remains rigid as your fingers begin to ache. The arm itself is housed in a 4-point gimbal bearing construction using Swiss ABEC bearings. This is superior to many of music hall’s competitors who use a lesser 2-point bearing system.Feature List:Piano Black, Acrylic Platter, Ortofon 2M Red CartridgeMusic Hall’s unique dual-plinth design – isolating the electronics and motor from the main bearing and tonearm33⅓, 45, or 78rpm speeds at the touch of a buttonElectronic speed controlled DC motor for superior speed stability, isolated on lower plinthCustom carbon fiber tonearm with alloy headshell for superb tracking abilityFlexible internal tonearm wire drawn from high purity copperCounterweight’s center of gravity is level with the stylus tip is decoupled from the arm and acts as a resonance damperHighly regarded Ortofon 2M Red cartridge with replaceable elliptical stylusThe cartridge supplied is properly aligned and mountedHigh precision stainless steel and bronze main bearing assembly for quiet fluid operationSpecial vibration damping adjustable feetHigh quality gold RCA connectors with detachable phono cableFull-size alloy platter and felt matQuick and easy to assembleDust cover and 45rpm adaptor included

surfaces and lack of vibration from moving parts ensures exceptional detail, resolution and uncoloured performance.
Equipped with a new highly advanced drive system provides a significant improvement to speed control, accuracy and
stability, making the new generation Model 20 far superior to the highly acclaimed original. The Model 20 has superb instrument quality machining allied with fundamental physics, the higher the mass and stiffness of the body the less it will flex and vibrate; the duration of a vibration is shortened by advanced damping treatment. The Model 20 effortlessly addresses the problems of extraneous vibrations which emanate from numerous sources including air and structural vibration from loudspeakers, groove modulation, stray electrical fields and mechanical energy from moving parts. Weighing 26kg is significant in relation to its size as density matters. The main and sub-chassis plate thicknesses are 16mm and resists flexing at low frequencies whilst high frequency resonance is attenuated by efficient extensional damping. The definitive performance Model 20 is available with or without a tonearm. The tonearm option is the flagship SME Series V with contrasting Silver Printed Detail and Crystal Cable internal wiring.CONSTRUCTIONThe MK2 Model 20 is a precision turntable made to exacting engineering standards for high performance. The chassis and sub-chassis are CNC machined from premium grade aluminium billet and acoustically treated. The sub-chassis suspended suspension system provides definitive resonance control and houses the main bearing, platter and tonearm. Four fully adjustable feet are mechanically de-coupled from the main chassis by way of isolators. The main spindle is 19mm in diameter, precision machined from high chrome tool steel, ground, super finished and supported in a sealed housing with individually fitted sintered bronze bearings of generous proportions needed for precise bearing and platter rotational control.SUSPENSIONWith no sonic footprint, the Model 20 sub-chassis is suspended on 40 purpose made suspension rings meeting all the requirements of high density construction, enabling a detailed resolution and uncoloured performance.DUMPINGA large central fluid-damper disciplines sub-chassis movement with a pleasing sense of security when handling records on the platter, offering a resistive ground-path for acoustic signals. In addition to a cartridge’s electrical output, mirror image acoustic signals reacted in the tonearm and record, will pass into the sub-chassis in the course of dissipation. However, the usual closed loop design does not address the problem of their differing phase, so in the Model 20 the structural interfaces concerned have received special attention to provide paths of the required impedance. This control of vibration is fundamental to the design of the Model 20 and goes a long way to explaining the stunning tonal and dynamic neutrality that it exhibits.PLATTERThe platter is machined from aluminium alloy and weighs 6.5kg. Extensionally dampened and the top surface iso-damp mat is diamond-turned with a fine scroll for acoustic performance. This method of finishing upsets a myriad of tiny fibres which interface with the underside of the vinyl record. A substantial record clamp operating on the reflex principle ensures the largest possible platter contact even when appreciable record warp is present.MOTORThe Model 20 turntable is driven by a custom made bi-phase AC synchronous motor controlled by a highly advanced speed control unit providing precise speed accuracy and stability. The motor conforms to the highest standards of silent running.SPEED CONTROLThe Speed Control Unit uses a dedicated DSP engine to generate two independent pure mathematical sine waves which provide total control of frequency, phase relationship and amplitude. These in turn are matched (tuned) to the motor for accuracy to obtain the best possible performance. The speed range is 33.33 and 45 rpm with independent memory settings via a switched encoder. Fine pitch speed increments/decrements of +/-0.01% of the selected speed are made by a rotary control on the Speed Control Unit fascia. The SCU case is CNC machined from billet polymer resin with machined aluminium fascia, chassis base and rear panel.POWER UNITAn independent mains Power Unit keeps the transformer separated from the Speed Control Unit and importantly away from the audio signal cables.

DescriptionThe SE is the ‘sport’ version of Michell’s Orbe rangetopper. It cuts down on costs by removing the acrylic casework of its namesake and, in many respects, looks the better for it. Like the well-regarded Gyro, it is a fully suspended design that floats the armboard and platter on three springs, which sit under three posts that stick up from the cast aluminium subchassis that surrounds the platter. Underneath are two acrylic layers in a tristar shape that reach out to support the suspension posts and fix-to-turned aluminium feet.Set up is a matter of adjusting the knurled tops under the three covers, so that the turntable is level without leaving a large gap between the bottom of the subchassis and the tristar. In practice, there isn’t much scope and you need a level support in the fi rst place, because the gap should not exceed a couple of millimetres. The platter looks heavy, but as its made from a mix of vinyl and acrylic, it sits on an inverted bearing and is driven by a round-section rubber belt. The motor housing is the biggest in the group and supports a DC motor that connects to an external power supply that offers speed switching. The Techno Arm is a heavily modified Rega RB250, with silver litz cable, silver plated plugs, cartridge clips and a VTA adjuster. It also features the Tecnoweight, which keeps mass at the same level as the stylus for better tracking and allows incremental downforce adjustment.Sound qualityThis turntable sounds more substantial than its platter feels, but you can’t judge a turntable by mass, it’s design and engineering quality that count and the Orbe SE seems to have both of those down. It has real bottom end weight combined with an open, assured midband that lets instruments and voices through in all their tonal glory. The drawback with many high-mass designs is that they don’t time well because there is a tendency for mass to retain and reflect energy. This turntable avoids that altogether and produces an extremely coherent and right-sounding result. This was a view shared by the panel, who enjoyed the Orbe SE’s fi ne dynamics and full-scale soundstage in which voices and guitars were projected with considerable realism. It garnered favourable comments about its timing, even if leading edges were considered less obvious. It also managed to turn in a very enjoyable rendition of the dub plate, which revealed much of its extension and rhythmic coherence. There were several comments about the quality of piano tone from the listeners, with one describing it as being ‘realistic’ and another as being detailed. The Orbe clearly has a strong and well-defi ned bottom end and this goes a long way to placing a piano solidly on a realistic soundstage. It’s not just about weight either, its also very good with voices, which are well articulated. Allan Taylor’s guitar is also well projected into the room in the context of a full-scale image. Transparency could be greater, as some of the competition reveal, but the Orbe SE balances power and subtlety very effectively. What’s more, it has a breadth of appeal that none of the alternatives could quite match which is impressive to say the least.

DescriptionThe Gyro SE is a variation of the GyroDec design. Doing away with the full size acrylic plinth and hinged lid of the Gyrodec and replacing them with a single acrylic spyder to support the turntable. This was done to reduce the overall size of the GyroDec and create a smaller more compact turntable.Low contact area feetThe solid aluminium feet of the turntable are shaped so the area in contact with the supporting surface is very small, this is done to minimise the transfer of vibrations from the supporting furniture into the turntable.Three point spring suspension systemThree suspension towers are fixed to the acrylic base to hold the suspension springs in place and provide height adjustment for the sub chassis.Weighted pendulum style sub chassisHanging on the three suspension springs, this provides a rigid dense platform to mount the main bearing, platter and tonearm assembly, ensuring there is no movement between them, while also acting as a ‘resonance / vibration sink’ drawing away unwanted vibrations from the sensitive elements of the turntable.Inverted oil circulating main bearing Contrary to traditional designs, our main bearing has the point of rotation at the top of the assembly, not at the bottom. This orientation allows us to fully lubricate the inside of the entire bearing while the platter is turning. We achieve this by way of a modified Archimedean screw that we machine into the inside bore of the bearing. The oil is drawn from a reservoir at the base of the main bearing up to the thrust ball at the top, fully lubricating as it goes, it then returns to the reservoir via a waste hole drilled into the bearing spindle. Lubricating the precision parts of the main bearing in this way means that any potential for noise or vibration created by the rotation of the platter is avoided.Impedance-matched platter with solid brass weightsThe platter material was chosen for its vibration dampening characteristics and because sonically it is a very similar material to vinyl, so it has a very neutral sound characteristic. The brass weights are added to give the platter extra mass and subsequently more momentum when spinning. This greatly improves speed stability and helps keep wow and flutter to a minimum.Free standing motor unitThe motor unit used to drive the turntable is completely separate to the turntable, meaning it doesn’t touch the turntable in anyway. The only connection between the motor and the turntable is the drive belt that drives the platter. This stops any noise or vibrations created when the motor is running, getting through to the sensitive parts of the turntable.

mmf-11.3 TurntableWe are never still at Music Hall. We’re always seeking to improve upon our past successes and push the limit of what’s possible with each product we design. The Music Hall 11.3 represents the culmination of years of R&D and is the finest example of our design philosophy.Unique TechnologyWe made significant changes to the motor assembly and its placement. The motor now sits on its own isolation platform separate from the turntable. This alteration and other changes to the overall size of the table has significantly elevated the performance and sound of the 11.3. It’s our finest achievement to date.Vibration dampingMoving the main bearing to the second plinth improved cartridge tracking and significantly lowered background noise. The adjustable magnetic-levitation isolation feet and all wiring are mounted on the bottom plinth.—The material used for the hemispheres which separate each of the four main plinths and provide additional vibration damping has been refined and improved. A TPE material is now used, custom designed for music hall, which is able to isolate all the plinth-layers more efficiently. The bottom plinth functions as a mass-loaded resonant sink for the entire turntable.Features List:music hall’s unique quadruple-plinth design with improved TPE vibration isolationnew freestanding and completely isolated motor assemblydual motor and flywheel assembly is located on the center left side of the turntable eliminating all motor and belt vibration from the cartridgeone-piece 9cc Evolution carbon fiber tonearmtonearm uses hardened Swiss ABEC 7 ball races in inverted bearingtonearm is internally wired with flexible wire drawn from high purity copper with only two contact points from cartridge to output connectorscounterweight’s center of gravity is level with the stylus tip is decoupled from the arm and acts as a resonance damperfully adjustable VTA, azimuth, and dampened arm liftexclusive microprocessor electronic speed control with dual motor single flywheel drive system33 1/3 and 45rpm speed change at the touch of a buttonadjustable magnetic-levitation feetinverted ceramic main bearing for ultra-quiet operation7.4lbs (3.35kg) acrylic platterdetachable phono cablehigh quality gold-plated RCA connectorsdisplay-style large removable acrylic dust coverpacked securely in a substantial wood boxexcellent instruction manual and easy assembly

mmf-3.3 TurntableOur first entry-level table utilizing the unique dual-plinth technology!Focus on ComponentsThe 3-speed belt driven table was developed for those seeking a perfectly matched set of features with an uncompromising focus on sound performance. This is superior to many of music hall’s competitors who use a lesser 2-point bearing system.Feature List:Music Hall’s unique dual-plinth design – isolating the electronics and motor from the main bearing and tonearm33⅓, 45, or 78rpm speeds at the touch of a buttonElectronic speed controlled DC motor for superior speed stability, isolated on lower plinthCustom carbon fiber tonearm with alloy headshell for superb tracking abilityFlexible internal tonearm wire drawn from high purity copperCounterweight’s center of gravity is level with the stylus tip is decoupled from the arm and acts as a resonance damperHighly regarded Ortofon 2M Red cartridge with replaceable elliptical stylusThe cartridge supplied is properly aligned and mountedHigh precision stainless steel and bronze main bearing assembly for quiet fluid operationSpecial vibration damping adjustable feetHigh quality gold RCA connectors with detachable phono cableFull-size alloy platter and felt matQuick and easy to assembleDust cover and 45rpm adaptor included
