This superior tonearm has the ability to guide even high-end cartridges through your record grooves with the greatest degree of precision and reliability.Included with the CS 518 is an Ortofon 2M Red MM phono cartridge and a switchable MM-phono preamplifier, making this 'table ready-to-run after easy set-up. A hinged dust cover completes the package."Priced to Be Heard"England's What Hi-fi? magazine gave the CS 518 its top rating of Five Stars, for reasons of "dynamic and expressive sound, good level of insight, easy to set up and use… It’s well priced and sonically talented enough to be a viable alternative to the best at the price.""Priced to be heard," proclaims Michael Fremer's analogplanet.com review for November 22, 2021. "The 'star' of the show here is the twin-gimbal ball-bearing tonearm, which though I have no way of measuring, has a precise 'feel' and sounded so, as well negotiating tough to track records especially on vocal sibilants. The servo-controlled adjustable 3 speed D.C. motor is also a stand-out feature.""Easily Worth the Asking Price""The CS 518 is not inexpensive, but the workmanship and the sound it produces make it easily worth the asking price," notes Thom Moon, soundstageaccess.com, November 1, 2021. "It’s easy to set up, it offers fine sound quality, it’s well constructed, and it looks good doing its part. If you’re in the market for a turntable in this price range… give the Dual CS 518 a very close look. I’m betting you won’t regret it.""Another pleasant chapter is added to the glorious history of Dual turntables with this device," writes Michael Lang, stereo-magazine.com, October 7, 2021.Twin Gimbal Tonearm and Precision PlatterThe CS 518 boasts a straight, statically balanced tonearm with an advanced twin gimbal design. Four precision pivot ball-bearings provide smooth and accurate tracking. The adjustable tonearm features provide the option to change the phono cartridge in the future should you wish to upgrade and to alter the tracking force and anti-skating accordingly. The precise aluminum die-cast platter uses a heavy rubber mat for resonance damping along with a solid platter bearing with a hardened steel spindle in a brass bushing.Selectable Electronic Speed ControlA turntable as easy to use as the CS 518 would never insist that you wrestle with belts to change speeds. Operation couldn't be simpler. The precise optical speed control lets you select 33 rpm, 45 rpm, or even 78 rpm with the twist of a knob.MM Phono Preamplifier Built-inThere is no obligation to use an outboard phono preamplifier with CS 518. This turntable comes with a built-in phono preamplifier. It can be either connected to the phono input or the line input at the amplifier. The built-in phono stage can switched on or off via a switch in the back. If you choose to, you can bypass the phono stage and use one of your own, or one built-into your amp or receiver of choice instead.Factory Installed Ortofon 2M Red CartridgeAn Ortofon 2M Red moving magnet phono cartridge is pre-mounted and precision-aligned. The 2M Red is an all-purpose cartridge that delivers open, dynamic sound with a slight touch of warmth. It features a new, improved engine that provides an increased output of 5.5mV, an optimized sound reproduction, and a high level of sonic accuracy.

The Ultimate in Rega PerformanceThe Planar 10 is also fitted with a bespoke ceramic oxide platter which is diamond cut during manufacture for ultimate accuracy and speed stability. The Rega 24 V synchronous motor is controlled by our most advanced outboard power supply, the P10-PSU. This supply delivers the ultimate in motor vibration reduction, electronic fine speed adjustment and the convenience of electronic speed change. The Planar 10 is designed to deliver the ultimate in Rega performance by extracting more information from the vinyl groove than ever before.KEY FEATURESRB3000 tonearmApheta 3 or Aphelion 2 factory fitted (optional)Ceramic Oxide diamond cut platterDB technology with ceramic top braceTancast 8 foamcore plinthP10 custom matched PSUEBLT Advanced drive beltLifetime warranty against manufacture defectsULTRA-LIGHTWEIGHT PLINTHThe Planar 10 is the third Rega turntable constructed using our latest technology the ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core (a material developed for the aerospace industry). This material is sandwiched between two layers of HPL (high-pressure laminate). HPL is exceptionally thin and extremely rigid. This new construction makes the new Planar 10 skeletal plinth 30% lighter than the original RP10 while offering increased rigidity over the previous model.DB TECHNOLOGY (DOUBLE BRACE TECHNOLOGY)“Mass absorbs energy - lost energy equals lost music”! A super lightweight plinth combined with a ceramic top brace and phenolic resin bottom brace mounted specifically where the increased rigidity is required (between the tonearm mounting and the main hub bearing) forms a structurally sound, “stressed beam,” assembly. This rigid plinth design prevents energy absorption and unwanted resonances which will add unnatural distortions to the music. Equally, heavier mass can transfer more unwanted energy such as motor or bearing noise directly into the rotating record. The tonearm and cartridge must be able to read accurately, directly from the platter. This unique Rega double brace solution enables this. The use of braces instead of the complete skin allows increased thickness in these key areas while providing further weight reduction to the plinth which directly addresses the issue of mass absorption and unwanted energy transmission.RB3000 TONEARMRega is renowned for the quality of its tonearm bearing assemblies. In particular the accurate manufacturing of our bearing housing and bearing spindles. Technical characteristics such as “roundness” and “parallelity” are critical.Over the past three years, Rega has found a new manufacturing process which improves on all these characteristics resulting in a micron perfect bearing fit. The RB3000 is the first Rega arm to benefit from these improvements. The entire tonearm structure is designed to have the minimum of mechanical joints while using the stiffest materials in all critical areas. The tolerance of the RB3000 tonearm is so tight that no adhesive is used at any point throughout the construction. Our latest low mass, precision engineered, vertical bearing assembly has been manufactured to further complement the inherent design philosophy of the Planar 10 turntable. The RB3000 tonearm uses our advanced, preloaded zero tolerance bearing assembly adjusted to less than 1000th of a mm. This gives friction-free movement and zero levels of unwanted play. Simply put, friction-free bearings with no play enable ridges in the record groove of less than a micron to be read. The RB3000 also uses our latest award-winning, aluminium, Rega arm tube (each one of which is meticulously hand polished, keeping mass to an absolute minimum) which was redesigned to redistribute mass and further reduce stresses and resonances. This advanced design tube increases the stiffness and rigidity of the overall assembly whilst reducing stress on the bearings even further.HUB BEARING ASSEMBLYThis latest design demonstrates attention to detail and modern CNC engineering advances. This allows new compromises, bringing Rega’s main bearing design closer than ever to the unachievable ideal. The Planar 10 uses a new low mass central bearing assembly. A single piece machined aluminium sub-platter and hardened tool steel spindle run inside a custom brass housing designed with improved mechanical integrity. The complete assembly is cleverly mounted within the chassis to eradicate unwanted potential energy being transferred or stored in the plinth.CERAMIC PLATTERThe P10 uses a custom ceramic, flywheel effect platter. The platter is produced from ceramic oxide powder which is compressed, fired and diamond cut to ensure perfect accuracy and flatness across the surface. The latest platter features a modified construction with improved coupling to the sub-platter.24 V LOW NOISE MOTOR ASSEMBLYThe Planar 10 uses Rega’s latest generation, 24 V, synchronous, low vibration motor technology. Uniquely mounted using the highest level of coupling while retaining higher vibration isolation than any previous model, this new motor mounting technique (mounted from the bottom) has been taken directly from the ultimate Rega turntable, the Naiad. This unique mounting method removes all stress from the motor body whilst holding the drive pulley perfectly still. This enables better speed stability and accuracy from the turntable. The reduced vibration and more rigid mounting delivers superior drive from the new EBLT drive belts. Each motor is hand-tuned to match its own custom-matched PL10 PSU power supply before fitting to the turntable to optimise the anti-vibration circuit.EBLT DRIVE BELTSFor three years Rega has been researching and developing with chemists the use of a bespoke new rubber compound for drive belts. Using a specialised curing system, the new drive belt offers superior consistency of modulus (a constant representing the degree to which a substance has a particular property, especially elasticity). These new belts are manufactured on Rega designed, state of the art, super-accurate tools (inspired by working with the manufacturer of high-tech Formula 1 engine parts) which produce ‘perfectly round’ and ‘dimensionally accurate’ belts, critical for perfect speed stability.PL10 PSUThe PL10 PSU offers the ultimate in motor control stability, convenient electronic speed change, advanced anti-vibration control and user adjustable electronic fine speed adjustment to ensure total accuracy and control over the life of the motor.Housed in Rega’s latest custom-designed case, the PL10 PSU is dedicated to running our 24v, low noise motor as quietly and as accurately as possible. The speed and control of the motor is achieved by using a new DSP (Digital Signal Processing) generator built upon a high stability crystal. This device will divide the accurate square wave from the crystal to the exact frequency required to turn the platter at the selected speed. The DSP core will also generate a near perfect sinusoidal waveform to power the motor. Factory set vibration removal and fine speed adjustments are then made to the power supply to tune each motor for optimal performance.DUST COVERThe outer frame of the previous model has now been removed and a new stylish, removable, single piece dustcover has been introduced further reducing the overall mass of the turntable.

A2 technologyThe A2 continues the success of our fully mechanical automatic turntables. With the A2, you can now select the drop off point for 7“ (singles) or 12“ (LPs) for 45 RPM records. We have also added 78 RPM to the system allowing you to dig back into old shellac collections. To enjoy listening to your A2, just press start and the tonearm automatically moves to the lead in groove of the record. Once playing, the automatics are completely taken out of the equation. And because the automatics are working entirely mechanically – no additional electronics needed – they truly do not influence or degrade sound quality during playback! At the end of the record, the tonearm is automatically brought back and gently lowered into its resting position and the motor shut off.Why sub-chassis?Automatic turntables have many small mechanical parts, which means you need more hollow space in the chassis to fit them. Hollow spaces are the biggest problem as they always reinforce resonances. By using a sub-chassis, you decouple the tonearm and drive from the chassis. In other words, a sub-chassis is a MUST for automatic turntables and enables them to reach excellent sound performance.Improved Automatic MechanismWe have invested in a new aluminium diecast top for the whole sub-chassis and automatic mechanism. We have tried to avoid plastic parts from the original German automatic design as much as possible. This is the first time in all the 50 years of its existance that the original automatic design has received an improvement like this. Due to the new aluminium diecast cover and the massive chassis, the whole sub-chassis construction is more effective and isolates unwanted resonance much better.Massless Tracking Force AdjustmentThe A2 uses a new system for setting the tracking force. As usual, you first level out the tonearm with the damped counterweight. Damping the counter- weight makes the tonearm as a whole more robust and decouples the counterweight from the tonearm reducing resonant frequencies. Afterwards the tracking force is set by turning a dial directly on the tonearm bearing. Not only is this system very fast, precise and efficient, it also keeps the center of gravity directly on top of the bearing center. The spring based anti-skating can also be adjusted directly on the tonearm base.Improved Tonearm & Cardanic Bearing The A2 features an 8.3” ultra-light-mass aluminium tonearm with an improved tonearm tube with bigger diameter. The is a perfect match for the slightly heavier Ortofon 2M Red. In combination we retain the super fast response and all transient detail with lots of fine microdynamics, while the new 2M Red adds a lot of body and musical warmth. The tonearm bearing has received a major upgrade, is now made out of aluminium and features a 4-pin-point cardanic construction with steel tip ball bearings from our own production. This allows for unhindered and free tonearm movement with the lowest amount of friction possible. The A2 will track your vinyl records with the utmost of precision and tightness. Why Ultra-Light-Mass Tonearm?Since forever, there has been this technical discussion about light-weight tonearms with high compliance MM cartridges vs. heavy tonearms with low compliance MC cartridges. Both approaches have advantages and disadvantages and you‘ll find detailed analysis in concerned literature. However, when it comes to automatic turntables, we NEED ultra-light-mass tonearms. There is no way around it. We need the automatic mechanics to be like those in mechanical watches: small and precise. A heavy tonearm would result in a rougher mechanical design as much higher masses have to be moved. Therefore, the A2 reaches performance hights like no other automatic turntable on the market.

Piano Black, Acrylic Platter, Ortofon 2M Red CartridgeOur first entry-level table utilizing the unique dual-plinth technology!Focus on ComponentsThe 3-speed belt driven table was developed for those seeking a perfectly matched set of features with an uncompromising focus on sound performance. The Complete PackageThe mmf-3.3 comes complete with a tonearm and Ortofon 2M Red cartridge precision mounted. We are pleased to introduce our first entry-level table utilizing the unique dual-plinth technology originated by music hall. The mmf-3.3 embodies the culmination of over 30 years of research, development, and most important of all, listening. The 3-speed belt driven table was developed for those seeking a perfectly matched set of features with an uncompromising focus on sound performance. The 3.3 is constructed using high quality components and comes complete with a tonearm, cartridge mounted, and dust cover.Speed ControlThe 3.3 has a built-in electronic speed control for 33/45/and 78. The platter speed switches from 33 to 45 rpm at the touch of a button. 78 rpm requires the movement of the belt to a different location on the motor pulley, and the use of a different belt, included with the turntable.Carbon Fiber Arm with Bonded Alloy HeadshellThis tonearm is unique to music hall. Bonding the alloy headshell to the carbon arm-tube stiffens and dampens the carbon fiber tube. This construction significantly improves the sound and performance over similar looking one-piece carbon arms. The alloy headshell allows you to securely mount the cartridge to the tonearm without the twist and flex that is common in lesser one-piece carbon arms. Tonearms should not twist/flex as this negatively impacts the cartridge and tonearm’s ability to properly track the record groove. On many one-piece carbon tonearms, you can literally pinch the cartridge end of arm between your thumb and forefinger and twist/flex the arm-tube. Try this with the music hall and the tonearm remains rigid as your fingers begin to ache. The arm itself is housed in a 4-point gimbal bearing construction using Swiss ABEC bearings. This is superior to many of music hall’s competitors who use a lesser 2-point bearing system.Feature List:Piano Black, Acrylic Platter, Ortofon 2M Red CartridgeMusic Hall’s unique dual-plinth design – isolating the electronics and motor from the main bearing and tonearm33⅓, 45, or 78rpm speeds at the touch of a buttonElectronic speed controlled DC motor for superior speed stability, isolated on lower plinthCustom carbon fiber tonearm with alloy headshell for superb tracking abilityFlexible internal tonearm wire drawn from high purity copperCounterweight’s center of gravity is level with the stylus tip is decoupled from the arm and acts as a resonance damperHighly regarded Ortofon 2M Red cartridge with replaceable elliptical stylusThe cartridge supplied is properly aligned and mountedHigh precision stainless steel and bronze main bearing assembly for quiet fluid operationSpecial vibration damping adjustable feetHigh quality gold RCA connectors with detachable phono cableFull-size alloy platter and felt matQuick and easy to assembleDust cover and 45rpm adaptor included

The MK2 Model 20 is a finely engineered precision turntable. High density construction, extensional damping of major
surfaces and lack of vibration from moving parts ensures exceptional detail, resolution and uncoloured performance.
Equipped with a new highly advanced drive system provides a significant improvement to speed control, accuracy and
stability, making the new generation Model 20 far superior to the highly acclaimed original. The Model 20 has superb instrument quality machining allied with fundamental physics, the higher the mass and stiffness of the body the less it will flex and vibrate; the duration of a vibration is shortened by advanced damping treatment. The Model 20 effortlessly addresses the problems of extraneous vibrations which emanate from numerous sources including air and structural vibration from loudspeakers, groove modulation, stray electrical fields and mechanical energy from moving parts. Weighing 26kg is significant in relation to its size as density matters. The main and sub-chassis plate thicknesses are 16mm and resists flexing at low frequencies whilst high frequency resonance is attenuated by efficient extensional damping. In addition to a cartridge’s electrical output, mirror image acoustic signals reacted in the tonearm and record, will pass into the sub-chassis in the course of dissipation. However, the usual closed loop design does not address the problem of their differing phase, so in the Model 20 the structural interfaces concerned have received special attention to provide paths of the required impedance. This control of vibration is fundamental to the design of the Model 20 and goes a long way to explaining the stunning tonal and dynamic neutrality that it exhibits.PLATTERThe platter is machined from aluminium alloy and weighs 6.5kg. DescriptionThe SE is the ‘sport’ version of Michell’s Orbe rangetopper. It cuts down on costs by removing the acrylic casework of its namesake and, in many respects, looks the better for it. Like the well-regarded Gyro, it is a fully suspended design that floats the armboard and platter on three springs, which sit under three posts that stick up from the cast aluminium subchassis that surrounds the platter. Underneath are two acrylic layers in a tristar shape that reach out to support the suspension posts and fix-to-turned aluminium feet.Set up is a matter of adjusting the knurled tops under the three covers, so that the turntable is level without leaving a large gap between the bottom of the subchassis and the tristar. In practice, there isn’t much scope and you need a level support in the fi rst place, because the gap should not exceed a couple of millimetres. The platter looks heavy, but as its made from a mix of vinyl and acrylic, it sits on an inverted bearing and is driven by a round-section rubber belt. The motor housing is the biggest in the group and supports a DC motor that connects to an external power supply that offers speed switching. The Techno Arm is a heavily modified Rega RB250, with silver litz cable, silver plated plugs, cartridge clips and a VTA adjuster. It also features the Tecnoweight, which keeps mass at the same level as the stylus for better tracking and allows incremental downforce adjustment.Sound qualityThis turntable sounds more substantial than its platter feels, but you can’t judge a turntable by mass, it’s design and engineering quality that count and the Orbe SE seems to have both of those down. It has real bottom end weight combined with an open, assured midband that lets instruments and voices through in all their tonal glory. The drawback with many high-mass designs is that they don’t time well because there is a tendency for mass to retain and reflect energy. This turntable avoids that altogether and produces an extremely coherent and right-sounding result. This was a view shared by the panel, who enjoyed the Orbe SE’s fi ne dynamics and full-scale soundstage in which voices and guitars were projected with considerable realism. It garnered favourable comments about its timing, even if leading edges were considered less obvious. It also managed to turn in a very enjoyable rendition of the dub plate, which revealed much of its extension and rhythmic coherence. There were several comments about the quality of piano tone from the listeners, with one describing it as being ‘realistic’ and another as being detailed. The Orbe clearly has a strong and well-defi ned bottom end and this goes a long way to placing a piano solidly on a realistic soundstage. It’s not just about weight either, its also very good with voices, which are well articulated. Allan Taylor’s guitar is also well projected into the room in the context of a full-scale image. Transparency could be greater, as some of the competition reveal, but the Orbe SE balances power and subtlety very effectively. What’s more, it has a breadth of appeal that none of the alternatives could quite match which is impressive to say the least.

DescriptionThe Gyro SE is a variation of the GyroDec design. Doing away with the full size acrylic plinth and hinged lid of the Gyrodec and replacing them with a single acrylic spyder to support the turntable. This was done to reduce the overall size of the GyroDec and create a smaller more compact turntable.Low contact area feetThe solid aluminium feet of the turntable are shaped so the area in contact with the supporting surface is very small, this is done to minimise the transfer of vibrations from the supporting furniture into the turntable.Three point spring suspension systemThree suspension towers are fixed to the acrylic base to hold the suspension springs in place and provide height adjustment for the sub chassis.Weighted pendulum style sub chassisHanging on the three suspension springs, this provides a rigid dense platform to mount the main bearing, platter and tonearm assembly, ensuring there is no movement between them, while also acting as a ‘resonance / vibration sink’ drawing away unwanted vibrations from the sensitive elements of the turntable.Inverted oil circulating main bearing Contrary to traditional designs, our main bearing has the point of rotation at the top of the assembly, not at the bottom. This orientation allows us to fully lubricate the inside of the entire bearing while the platter is turning. We achieve this by way of a modified Archimedean screw that we machine into the inside bore of the bearing. The oil is drawn from a reservoir at the base of the main bearing up to the thrust ball at the top, fully lubricating as it goes, it then returns to the reservoir via a waste hole drilled into the bearing spindle. Lubricating the precision parts of the main bearing in this way means that any potential for noise or vibration created by the rotation of the platter is avoided.Impedance-matched platter with solid brass weightsThe platter material was chosen for its vibration dampening characteristics and because sonically it is a very similar material to vinyl, so it has a very neutral sound characteristic. The brass weights are added to give the platter extra mass and subsequently more momentum when spinning. This greatly improves speed stability and helps keep wow and flutter to a minimum.Free standing motor unitThe motor unit used to drive the turntable is completely separate to the turntable, meaning it doesn’t touch the turntable in anyway. The only connection between the motor and the turntable is the drive belt that drives the platter. This stops any noise or vibrations created when the motor is running, getting through to the sensitive parts of the turntable.

The speed control unit uses a dedicated DSP engine to generate two independent pure mathematical sine waves which provide total control of frequency, phase relationship and amplitude. These in turn are matched (tuned) to the motor for accuracy to obtain the best possible performance. The output driver stage is a 2 channel, class AB Bi-polar design with low distortion and relay coupled directly to the motor. The entire design is implemented using high quality surface mount technology on a gold plated FR4 PCB. The speed range is 33.33 and 45rpm with independent memory settings via a switched encoder.

mmf-3.3 TurntableOur first entry-level table utilizing the unique dual-plinth technology!Focus on ComponentsThe 3-speed belt driven table was developed for those seeking a perfectly matched set of features with an uncompromising focus on sound performance. This is superior to many of music hall’s competitors who use a lesser 2-point bearing system.Feature List:Music Hall’s unique dual-plinth design – isolating the electronics and motor from the main bearing and tonearm33⅓, 45, or 78rpm speeds at the touch of a buttonElectronic speed controlled DC motor for superior speed stability, isolated on lower plinthCustom carbon fiber tonearm with alloy headshell for superb tracking abilityFlexible internal tonearm wire drawn from high purity copperCounterweight’s center of gravity is level with the stylus tip is decoupled from the arm and acts as a resonance damperHighly regarded Ortofon 2M Red cartridge with replaceable elliptical stylusThe cartridge supplied is properly aligned and mountedHigh precision stainless steel and bronze main bearing assembly for quiet fluid operationSpecial vibration damping adjustable feetHigh quality gold RCA connectors with detachable phono cableFull-size alloy platter and felt matQuick and easy to assembleDust cover and 45rpm adaptor included
