Amazing FlexibilityAs with every amp in the Classic Series, we here at NAD have carefully thought through all the possible use cases and strategically chosen the most essential of features. Thanks to selectable balanced inputs, the C 268 is a natural mate for high-end preamps and processors. These inputs include a trim control useful for matching with other components, or for use in bi-amping speakers. A line out allows further addition of power on the same channel for extra speakers or subwoofers. On top of all this connectivity is a bridge switch that turns the C 268 into an amazingly powerful Monobloc amplifier. You can also pair the C 268 with the NAD C 368 Hybrid Digital DAC Amplifier, and with both units bridged for mono, 300 watts per channel of distortion-free sound become available for your listening pleasure. The C 268’s auto-sense feature with selectable threshold is perfect for automating complex systems or for hiding the amp out of sight in a cabinet. Included with the C 268 is a ground lug that is very useful for eliminating ground loops and noise in complex multi-unit systems.Getting the Basics RightAs a member of NAD’s Classic Series, the C 268 delivers a richly satisfying sonic performance thanks to its “music-first” features. Accurate channel balance, proper input and output impedance characteristics, and low noise circuits all come together within this one stereo power amplifier. Additionally the C 268’s line inputs, both balanced and single-ended, can accommodate all kinds of analogue source components by offering ideal input impedance traits with linear ultra-low-noise buffer amplifiers to prevent any sonic degradation caused by unfitting loading of the source device.Sophisticated PowerHaving moved away from old fashioned linear power supplies and Class AB output stages, NAD has developed even better performing circuits based on switch mode power supplies and Class D output stages. Once thought to be inferior to traditional topologies, NAD’s advanced work in this area has resulted in some of the best performing amplifiers regardless of basic design principle. The overall design of the C 268 is very linear over a wide bandwidth, providing dramatic advances over previous models with consistent performance into all speaker loads. The power supply of the C 268 is capable of nearly 200 watts continuously and over 500 watts instantaneously, allowing for short term musical transients. NAD’s innovative asymmetrical PowerDrive fully utilizes every last watt available with its vast reserves of dynamic power available to accurately reproduce the most demanding music without distortion or compression. It can also operate with any AC mains voltage from 100V to 240V, and provides pure DC power to all the various stages of the C 268. This highly efficient supply also provides near perfect regulation of voltage across a wide range of conditions and provides a solid noise-free foundation for the amplifying stages. The C 268 uses a customised version of the proven Hypex UcD output stage. This allows for massive power with nearly immeasurable distortion and noise in the audible range. Every detail of this design has been carefully crafted and perfectly executed to wring out ever last drop of performance.

Kaluga is based on world's most sought after class-D technology: Ncore'. Unprecedented low distortion, noise and output impedance combine into what scores of enthusiastic users unanimously describe as 'no sonic signature at all'. Just music, glorious music. For instance, the two supposedly unassailable strongholds of class-A amplifiers are linearity and output impedance, at high frequencies. Plotted on next page are the output impedance as a function of frequency and the output spectrum in a high power (400W), high frequency IMD test. In both cases Kaluga outperforms any power amplifier, regardless of technology, operating class or asking price, of which such test results are available. The amplifier board is a Mola Mola specific design. The audio circuitry is trimmed to the bare bones and board-to-board connectors are eliminated in favour of soldering star-quad cables directly into the circuit board for the cleanest, lowest impedance connection possible. The input stage is implemented on a separate circuit board that uses the same discrete buffers as those found in the Makua. The output filter sports monolithic capacitors whose dielectric stability is reflected in an impressively neutral and poised rendition. The days of compromising power efficiency for audio performance are finally over: the Kaluga delivers definitive audio performance with power efficiency thrown in as a bonus.
The standalone version of our well-known archival grade Phono stage features three single-ended inputs and one balanced input. It has a balanced output as well as a single-ended output. The Lupe with its dedicated power supply, k and the added "subsonic filter" provides the discerning record aficionado with the most accurate set-up for recreating the magic of the turntable as it was intended. The display of the well-known "half sized chassis" Lupe offers at a glance information on the settings. What was conceived as a simple RIAA add-on for the Makua Preamplifier (also available in the Kula Integrated amplifier) has quickly spiraled into the quietest and probably most versatile phono stage ever built. MC/MM input stages are optimized for current noise and voltage noise respectively. Unlike the more common arrangement of an MC head amp feeding into the MM stage, the two stages are fully independent, realizing an equally short signal path for both. Input gain is switchable in 5dB steps over a 40dB range. Input resistance and capacitance are individually switchable. Available EQ settings cover practically all known cutting curves including 78 RPM.All settings are software controllable, either on the fly using a smart-phone or tablet via the Mola Mola Remote app or directly stored under the preset buttons. Digitally controlled all switching is done in the analogue domain. The Lupe can be configured to route any of the four inputs through the phono stage, this allows you to have multiple turntables and/or cartridges connected.

It is well known that using monoblock amplifiers, as opposed to both channels together as a stereo chassis, is the best way to get powerful and lifelike music. By using separate power supplies that can be much more massive, each amplifier can have more dynamic power and be quieter. Keeping two separate amplifiers also makes any inter-channel crosstalk in the amplifiers impossible, so separation is better, meaning your soundstage and musical imaging will be larger and more well-defined. The simple act of separating the two channels provides a lot of distinct advantages, but also increases the investment because of needing to double up on power supplies and chassis parts. Is this extra expense worth it? One listen to the CAD-211FE will convince you that it most certainly is. With over 70 watts of class-A power, automatically transitioning as needed to over 150 watts in class-AB, this powerhouse will effortlessly drive nearly any speaker to realistic live performance levels. It includes a bias meter on the front panel to help you maintain your amplifier at its peak operating level, and offers both XLR balanced and RCA single-ended inputs to match your system. Fully differentially-balanced construction, zero global feedback, and huge reserves of current and power mean that your system will come alive with all types of music and movies.
The CAD-805 Reference Series (CAD-805RS) is the latest edition in the 805 series of single-ended mono block amplifiers that has been in continuous production since 1993.Here is what you will see with a pair of CAD-805RS moving from front to back. The front panel is a handsome thick machined aluminum that is available in either silver or black anodized finish. The CAD-805RS is equipped with a built-in meter on the front of the chassis. The adjustment pot is located at the rear of the chassis along with a bias jack for an external meter. Looking at the amplifier from above, you see a top-plate, which is finished in a handsome Anthracite Black gloss enamel, with white silkscreened lettering. To the left, the main power switch, to the right the ‘standby/operate’ switch which powers up the 211 or 845 output tubes. To the left is a rotary switch with a green jewel-like knob that chooses the appropriate bias for your choice of 211 or 845 output tubes. To the right is a similar rotary knob that dials in ‘negative feedback’ on a global basis and is adjustable from “off” in a continual rotation to a max of 10 dB of feedback. Also, on this top front portion of the amplifier are two 6SN7 input stage tubes, a 300B driver stage tube, and your choice of either an 845 or 211 output tube.Behind the tubes, the main real-estate of the 805 is occupied by two very impressively sized transformers—one power, and one output, and four electrolytic capacitors. Also, toward the rear of the chassis are the aforementioned setscrew adjustment pot for biasing purposes and the quarter inch bias jack for reading the bias of the 300B driver tube. These are the only user adjustments you will have to worry about, other than choosing your output tube flavor. The back panel offers a choice of 4, 8, or 16 ohm speaker outputs that are very high quality and heavy duty. There is a RCA input jack and a XLR input jack with a user selectable switch, and two visible fuses—one for the 300B and one for the output tube. There is also a built-in fuse within the AC power socket. The power cord is detachable. To review the circuit, the single-ended audio input signal from the outside world is passed to the control input grid of the first 6SN7 tube. This first 6SN7 stage is operating in a parallel dual triode conventional resistance-coupled Class A amplifier. This first gain stage is directly coupled to the next 6SN7 dual triode gain stage. This second stage is operating in a series anode constant-current Class A amplifier. This amplified audio signal is passed through a coupling capacitor to the grid of the 300B driver stage. The 300B triode tube operates in a Class A single-ended mode utilizing fixed negative grid voltage on the 300B driver stage. This negative grid voltage is user-adjusted by the screwdriver pot at the rear of the CAD-805RS. The 300B is directly coupled to the grid of either a 211 or 845, 100-watt plate dissipation, triode output tube. The method of coupling at this stage is called an interstage transformer. This is an air-gap design with a flat frequency response from 30Hz to 23 KHz.The audio signal from the 300B interstage transformer will drive the 211/845 output tube to 27 watts Class A output. With additional volume levels, the amplifier goes into a positive grid mode with a power output of 50 watts Class A2. In the case of the 211-output tube, the Class A2 power is on the order of 70 watts at clipping. The high-power output from the 211/845 tube is coupled to the loudspeaker via an air-gapped 150 watt continuous duty output transformer. This transforms the high impedance (8000 ohm primary winding) of the output tube to 4,8, or 16 ohms to drive the loudspeaker.

The introduction of the SA-500.1 ES solid-state power amplifier represents the next generation of the SA-500.1 design. It embodies a modular approach that ensures consistency in performance, and ease of manufacture and serviceability. In implementing the new design, we have dramatically improved performance and current-handling capacity over the previous model while still maintaining the highest levels of sonic quality. The SA-500.1 ES is a 500 watt monoblock amplifier into 8 ohms, (1000 watts into 4 ohms), with balanced and single ended inputs. The amplifier exhibits very high current capability, is stable into low impedance loads, and features 3 dB of dynamic headroom. When we designed the SA-500.1 ES power amplifier, one of our primary goals was to create a product that would give years of consistent and reliable use without any maintenance. To achieve that goal we took a hard look at the design and choice of components. For example, we use high-precision metal film resistors in almost all our circuitry, even in places where their use is not required. We have overbuilt the output stage and increased the heat dissipating capabilities of the amplifier by as much as 50% over previous designs. The changes encompass almost every part of the design, down to the choice of thickness of the chassis sheet metal. The monolithic front end brought major advantages to the amplifier design with improved temperature stability, low offset, and a substantial reduction of all types of distortion across the full frequency spectrum.
The introduction of the SA-200.2 ES solid-state power amplifier represents the next generation of the SA-200.2 design. It embodies a modular approach that ensures consistency in performance, and ease of manufacture and serviceability. In implementing the new design, we have dramatically improved performance and current-handling capacity over the previous model while still maintaining the highest levels of sonic quality. The SA-200.2 ES is a 200 watt stereo amplifier into 8 ohms, (350 watts into 4 ohms), with balanced and single ended inputs. The amplifier exhibits very high current capability, is stable into low impedance loads, and features 3 dB of dynamic headroom. When we designed the SA-200.2 ES power amplifier, one of our primary goals was to create a product that would give years of consistent and reliable use without any maintenance. To achieve that goal, we took a hard look at the design and choice of components.
DescriptionFully balanced from input to output – free from noise and distortion.Hand picked components – hours of listening to select only those that sound the best.Twin Toroidal Transformers – huge reserves of power for consistent tonality.Cambridge Audio proprietary Class XA Amplification - no audible crossover distortion.Perfect partners – pair two Edge Ms with the Edge NQ to create your perfect system.Rediscover Music With EdgeOur most refined monoblock power amplifier, the Edge M offers the same rhythmic coherence and depth of image as the rest of the Edge range, but with the power in reserve to drive even the most demanding of speakers. The Power to DeliverA pair of Edge M Monoblock Power Amplifiers have the power in reserve to drive even the most demanding of speakers with punch and clarity. Because each Edge M is fully balanced from input to output, they are immune from noisy distortion and free to deliver your music exactly as the artist intended – nothing added, nothing taken away – whatever the volume.Muscle With FinesseAs powerful as a pair of Edge M amplifiers can be, they remain remarkably detailed. The sound is finely balanced with a depth and clarity that comes through with every note. We developed the whole Edge system by carefully listening to each component and only choosing the ones that blew us away. Nothing was picked on price or specs. The end result is a power amplifier that brings the original recording to life in truly spectacular fashion.Short and SweetAlthough minimal in its exterior design, Edge M has some complex audio engineering inside. To remove the barriers between you and your music, we have worked hard to minimise the number of components in the signal path. As a result, Edge M delivers a more faithful reproduction of the original recording; an impressively detailed three-dimensional sound, with striking staging and focus.More Musical DetailWe pioneered the use of toroidal transformers in amplifiers, which led to improved performance. In Edge we take this one step further, using opposing symmetry twin toroidal transformers. This cancels out electromagnetic interference whilst offering outstanding power and maintaining consistent tonality, no matter how loud it’s played.Effortless Power Without DistortionUsing standard Class A amplifier technology wasn’t going to be efficient enough for Edge M. Instead we added a bias voltage to a traditional Class AB design, reducing distortion to inaudible levels. This unique configuration also produces less heat and makes the whole system much more effective.Perfect PartnersEdge systems are designed to work in perfect synchronisation. Match a pair of Edge Ms with our most versatile Preamplifier Network Player, Edge NQ, to create a hi-fi system with a sound, and a look, unlike anything else.

Performance From The HeartIn life we admire “heart.” When we say someone has heart we mean passion, spirit, fortitude. And we applaud it. While the amplifier is the brawn behind every successful music and movie presentation, it is also the heart! Its role is as crucial as that of the speakers in its ability to render delicate musical detail one moment and deliver room-shaking explosions the next. The most exquisite piece of music falls flat without clean, quiet power to sustain it through to its natural, musical ebb. Movie special effects require an inordinate supply of stable, high current power to give visceral credibility to the “special” aspect of each effect! In fact, all truly successful sound reproduction requires “heart.” The heart of an amplifier rests with its design and it is here that P2 and P5 amplifiers reveal their high-end lineage: multi-layered, hand-designed circuit boards with thick copper traces; rugged, independent power supplies with tuned toroidal power transformers for each amplifier channel; fourteen rugged bipolar output devices per channel; custom-designed convection-cooled heatsinks with serrated fins; a “no-fuse” design strategy. And the list goes on.
Designed to match, engineered for power.New MCA multi-channel amplifiers are Crafted in Canada and perfectly match the new AVM 60 processor & MRX receivers. To complement the NEW AVM 60 A/V Processor, Anthem introduces the new MCA 525, 325 and 225 power amplifiers. Available in 5, 3 and 2-channel configurations, these new MCA amplifiers feature more robust and efficient power and heavy-duty reliability. The new MCA Series delivers lower THD (total harmonic distortion) for more clean, pure sound and lower noise for a supremely quiet background.Like all Anthem products the MCA 525, MCA 325 and MCA 225, designed and Crafted in Canada, are like no other amplifiers in the world: custom low noise high-power toroidal transformers; high-current bipolar output transistors; high-quality filter capacitors; advanced power supply regulators; oversized aluminum heatsinks; custom-designed dual binding posts; and patented auto-on/off circuitry. Superior craftsmanship that is reflected in clean, clear, audiophile-quality sound from top to bottom of the frequency spectrum. An All New MCA SeriesWhat does it take to improve on perfection? Over 15 years of concentration. The distillation of endless hours of fundamental research. The willingness to rebuild from the ground up. And the focus on a single goal: Leadership through innovation and technology. Introducing the new generation of Anthem MCA Amplifiers, designed, engineered and manufactured in Canada!Completely RedesignedThe new MCA series greatly reduces the use of internal cabling for a much smoother circuit path for pure, unobstructed audio performance. The use of low-flux toroidal transformers and improved input transistors provide a greater sense of transparency, even with dynamically complex material. We’ve also improved other performance benchmarks including power bandwidth and slew rate. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB, background noise is practically nonexistent, leaving you with just pure natural sound reproduction.Higher Power into More Demanding LoadsExperience the immense dynamics of up to 600 clean Watts delivered into demanding 2-Ohm loads. Both power supply impedance and internal cabling inductance have been minimized to deliver a clear path for maximum power – even in the most demanding conditions. While previous 5-channel MCA amps used a single power supply for front left and right channels and another power supply of the centre and surround, the new MCA 525 shares its two power supply between all channels. The result is full bursts of power – instantly – without affecting channel separation.Next generation Advanced Load Monitoring™ TechnologyExclusive ALM™ technology monitors internal temperature, current and voltage to ensure safe and uninterrupted longterm operation, all the while eliminating the need for internal fuses. ALM™ is not in the signal path, so it never gets in the way. Instead, ALM engages instantly, but only in the most extreme circumstances, to protect your amplifier (and speakers) from damage. This new generation ALM™ lowers the chance of a line fuse blowing during an over-current condition. Should a fault condition arise, unaffected channels continue to play and all-channel operation resumes automatically once conditions are back to normal. The LED on the front panel confirms status at all times.Engineered for ReliabilityThe new generation of MCA Amplifiers uses of Anthem’s years of experience to “engineer out” common amplifier gremlins. Consequently, we’ve removed output relays, so the signal path has absolutely no moving parts. All parts, including the eight bipolar output transistors per channel, are run conservatively so they remain within their safe operating range. Power-on inrush current has been minimized to reduce line disturbances and stress on internal components. We’ve also upgraded internal connectors and increased mechanical strength.Green “Standby” Power ConsumptionIn addition to the reduced inrush current, these new MCA Amplifiers only use between 1-2W in “standby” mode. As with all Anthem amplifiers, they can be switched on manually, via trigger, or by sensing an input signal. New, larger, more conductive audiophile binding posts have been added to maximize contact and maintain a firm grip on the speaker cable. If you’re in the market for cutting-edge audio component separates, Anthem’s new MCA Amplifiers balance the complex dynamics of today’s most demanding multi-channel media with the rare finesse required to satisfy the audiophile in you. MCA Amps provide an abundance of conservatively rated power into demanding low impedance loads, incredible reliability, and a new design aesthetic that matches our sleek AVM 60 Pre-Amplifier.Massive Toroidal Power SuppliesMCA amplifiers deliver incredible dynamics thanks to massive “audiophile approved” conservatively rated power supplies designed with high rail voltages. Low flux toroidal power transformers ensure ultra quiet performance by minimizing stray magnetic field radiation. This provides the pure, clean, low-noise power that is needed to reproduce the full dynamics of home theater and the most complex and dynamic music recordings.Quality ComponentsAnthem MCA amplifiers are designed, engineered, and completely Crafted in Canada. We take pride in using only the highest quality components for each one we hand-build.Audiophile Binding PostsOur own custom-designed, oversized robust binding posts ensure full power delivery at all times. They’re easy to use and facilitate large speaker cable connectors.Stable as a RockOur amplifiers are incredibly stable into difficult, low-impedance speaker loads, making these superb-sounding dynamos reliable performers in even the toughest circumstances.
1-Channel Solid State Amplifier : 1,200 Watt Quad Balanced Monoblock, Redesigned from top to bottomThe MC1.25KW Quad Balanced Power Amplifier is one of our most advanced amplifiers. Redesigned from top to bottom, it replaces the venerable MC1.2KW as our most powerful single chassis monoblock amplifier. A simple glance at this 158 pound (71.7 kg) amp is enough to convey its power and performance capabilities, but when you hear it – then you’ll truly understand what it can do.The MC1.25KW outputs 1,200 Watts of pure power into a single channel with a nearly imperceptible total harmonic distortion of 0.005%. This astonishing amount of power is fully available to 2, 4 or 8 Ohm speakers our Autoformer™ technology. A pair of these amps can anchor a home audio system that can rival nearly any stereo system in the world.Updates and enhancements abound in the MC1.25KW. A 50% increase in filter capacity improves the performance of low end frequencies as well as increasing dynamic headroom. The top of the amp showcases an updated yet unmistakable McIntosh industrial design that will fit right in with current McIntosh products or those made decades ago. The audio Autoformer and power transformer remain located just behind the front panel but are now contained in new glass topped enclosures. In between them is new circular glasswork housing the amplifier’s name badge that is adorned with a decorative trim ring. The rear of the unit features 4 of our McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™. Made from high quality materials with excellent thermal conductivity properties, these heatsinks are so efficient at dissipating heat that they warrant bearing the McIntosh “Mc” logo. They connect to advanced high current output transistors that eliminate thermal equilibrium lag time so that the first musical note played sounds just as good as songs played later in your listening session. The heatsinks are capped with handsome ventilation trim plates. These trim plates and the circular trim ring are made from aluminum and are finished to match the front panel handles. The AC receptacle has been repositioned to provide additional clearance so a wider assortment of power cords can more easily be used. All of this sits atop a polished stainless steel chassis which rests on 4 new redesigned feet that feature a chamfered edge. Other updates include an updated power transformer, heavier gauge internal wiring, upgraded circuit components, and the addition of our power management system that will turn the amp off after a set amount of time when no input signal has been detected. With all the changes and improvements made in the MC1.25KW, one thing that hasn’t changed is the large, fast responding 11” (27.9 cm) blue Watt meter that accurately shows the amp’s power output. Also unchanged is the signature black glass front panel with control knobs, illuminated logo, and aluminum end caps with handles. The front panel and meter have new direct LED backlighting for improved appearance and color accuracy.Other exclusive McIntosh features included in the MC1.25KW include:Power Guard® that monitors and adjusts the output signal at the speed of light and makes real time adjustments to prevent harsh sounding and potentially speaker damaging clippingSentry Monitor™ - our fuse-less short-circuit protection circuit that disengages the output stage before current exceeds safe operating levels and then resets automatically when operating conditions return to normalQuad Balanced design that cancels virtually all noise and distortion that may have crept into the audio signalPower Control to send power on/off signals to other connected McIntosh components (such as CD Players, turntables, tuners and media streamers) for easy system power up and shutdownOur patented Solid Cinch™ speaker binding posts that easily but securely attach the speaker cables to prevent them from coming loose and possibly causing a short; the binding posts are also gold-plated to prevent corrosion and ensure a quality signal is sent over your speaker cables
RB-1552 MkII is built upon the same platform as the RB-1582 MkII with only a slightly smaller power output capability at 2 x 130 Watts. The RB-1552 MkII is a 130 Watt per channel class AB amplifier. It is engineered to be powerful and robust, yet able to extract every last nuance out of even the most complex musical score. Notable features of the amplifier include independent left and right power rectification stages and decoupling. The layout is essentially a mono block design. Further evidence of design over-spec is in the selection of premium “slit-foil” capacitors, which provide plenty of reserve energy for extremely dynamic audio passages and are able to quickly replenish themselves due to the nature of their unique design. Input options are balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA connectors. The RB-1552 MkII stereo amplifier has been engineered to provide high-resolution audio performance, yet it is very affordable, as has been the tradition with Rotel electronics for over 50 years.
