The VisionMaster Pro 2 from Valerion is the new flagship from this rising brand in the projector world. This triple RGB laser projector combines a brightness of 3000 ISO lumens with a dynamic contrast ratio of 15,000:1 to deliver spectacular images for both cinema and gaming. Equipped with DLP technology with a 0.47” DMD chip and compatible with the most demanding HDR formats (Dolby Vision, HDR10+, IMAX Enhanced), it aims to faithfully reproduce directors’ original vision. Its remarkable versatility is rounded out by an integrated Google TV system, exhaustive connectivity, and one of the lowest input lags on the market. At the heart of the VisionMaster Pro 2 is its triple RGB laser light source, a premium technology that enables it to cover 110% of the Rec. 2020 color space. This technical achievement translates into an exceptionally rich color palette, surpassing even professional standards in the film industry. The 0.47” DMD chip combined with XPR (pixel-shifting) technology reproduces the full 8.29 million pixels of 4K resolution, delivering remarkable sharpness down to the finest details. The EBL (Enhanced Black Level) system enhances black depth while preserving detail in highlights. Dynamic HDR processing optimizes high dynamic range content in real time, avoiding blown-out highlights or crushed blacks. This projector also supports cinema-specific frame rates (24 and 48 FPS), ensuring absolute fidelity to the original works.ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) certification attests to professional color calibration right out of the box. This standardization provides additional assurance of color accuracy and allows demanding users to enjoy a perfectly balanced image without complex adjustments.Remarkable installation flexibilityThe VisionMaster Pro 2’s optical zoom, with its variable 0.9–1.5:1 throw ratio, is a major asset rarely offered on projectors in this category. This feature provides considerable freedom in positioning the projector relative to the screen. It can project an image from 40 to 300 inches diagonally (1 to 7.62 meters), adapting to both small spaces and large rooms.Automatic geometric correction compensates for the absence of lens shift by intelligently adjusting the image to avoid keystone distortion when the projector isn’t perfectly aligned with the screen. This function, combined with autofocus, greatly simplifies installation even for users unfamiliar with technical settings. With its 3000 ISO lumens, the VisionMaster Pro 2 provides sufficient brightness for use in rooms that aren’t fully darkened. This versatility lets you make the most of the projector without necessarily turning your living room into a completely dark home theater.A reference gaming experienceThe VisionMaster Pro 2 stands out for its video game performance. Its input lag ranks among the lowest on the market: just 4 ms at 1080p 240 Hz, 8 ms at 1080p 120 Hz, and 15 ms at 4K 60 Hz. These exceptional figures ensure optimal responsiveness, essential for competitive gaming where every millisecond counts. The two built-in game modes optimize display to improve visibility in dark areas and increase visual precision. Specific features like the Crosshair and Dark Detail enhancement offer tangible advantages in shooters or adventure games. The projector also supports ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), which automatically switches to low-latency mode when a game console is detected. This seamless integration simplifies the user experience and guarantees optimal performance without tedious manual adjustments.A complete and connected multimedia hubThe VisionMaster Pro 2 features the Google TV operating system, offering native access to major streaming platforms like Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+, and Apple TV+. This intuitive interface makes it easy to navigate between different content sources and install additional apps as needed. The exhaustive connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports (the latest standard, supporting 4K at 120 Hz), an HDMI 2.0 port with eARC for simplified connection to a soundbar or amplifier, USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, a digital audio output, and an Ethernet port. Wireless technologies include Wi‑Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, ensuring stable and fast connections.Compatibility with AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and Miracast makes it easy to cast content from a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Integration with the most popular smart home ecosystems (Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa, and Control 4) further extends connectivity, allowing the projector to be included in automated scenarios.Comparison with the previous model and the competitionThe VisionMaster Pro 2 builds on the foundation of its predecessor, the VisionMaster Pro, while delivering significant improvements: higher brightness (3000 lumens versus 2500) and optimized contrast to maximize image clarity and depth.Against a premium competitor like the Leica Cine Play 1, the VisionMaster Pro 2 stands out with a wider color gamut (110% of BT.2020 versus 100%) and more sophisticated HDR handling. Leica, however, retains the advantage of a superior aspherical glass lens and includes a cradle stand as standard, offered as an option on the Valerion.Audio performance and designDespite its primary role as a video projector, the VisionMaster Pro 2 doesn’t neglect sound. Its 2x12-watt audio system includes DTS Virtual:X technology for sound spatialization that exceeds the physical limits of the speakers. Compatible with Dolby Audio and DTS:X formats, it provides satisfying sound for everyday use, though an external audio system is still recommended for a full cinematic experience. The projector’s design takes on a compact lifestyle, cubed style that blends harmoniously into a contemporary interior without dominating it. The efficient cooling system maintains a remarkably low operating noise level (28 dB), allowing you to fully enjoy quiet movie moments without being disturbed by fan noise.

The Valerion VisionMaster Max represents a significant breakthrough in the world of high-end projectors. This model uses triple RGB laser technology to deliver exceptional color accuracy, covering 110% of the Rec.2020 spectrum. With its 4K UHD resolution, 3500 ISO lumens brightness, and 50,000:1 dynamic contrast, it turns your living room into a genuine movie theater. Equipped with Google TV, high-quality DTS:X sound, and broad compatibility with premium HDR formats, this projector is aimed at both film enthusiasts and demanding gamers looking for minimal latency.Triple RGB laser technology is the beating heart of the VisionMaster Max. Unlike traditional projectors that use lamps or white LEDs, this system employs three distinct lasers – red, green, and blue – to generate exceptionally pure light. This approach delivers far superior color saturation and accuracy compared to conventional technologies. The main advantage of this technology lies in its ability to reproduce an exceptionally wide color range, reaching 110% of the Rec.2020 color space. For viewers, this translates into images with vibrant, faithful, and incredibly nuanced colors, revealing chromatic details usually invisible on standard projectors.ISF certification also guarantees optimal color fidelity right out of the box, while enthusiasts can fine-tune settings according to their preferences thanks to advanced calibration options.Picture quality worthy of professional theatersThe VisionMaster Max uses a 0.47-inch Texas Instruments chip combined with XPR technology to deliver true 4K resolution (3840×2160 pixels). This combination ensures outstanding sharpness and definition, even on projection surfaces up to 300 inches (7.62 meters).Compatibility with premium HDR formats further elevates the visual experience. The projector supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, and professional standards such as IMAX Enhanced and Filmmaker Mode. These technologies preserve the creators’ artistic intent by dynamically optimizing brightness, contrast, and color levels for each scene. The Enhanced Black Level algorithm deepens the richness of dark tones, while Dynamic Tone Mapping technology continuously adjusts brightness to achieve brilliant whites without sacrificing detail in shadowy areas. The dynamic iris function further improves perceived contrast, delivering deep blacks and images with impressive depth.Flexible installation and motorized adjustmentsInstalling the VisionMaster Max is easy to adapt to your space thanks to several technical innovations. Its 0.9–1.5:1 optical zoom lets you precisely adjust image size without physically moving the unit. The motorized vertical lens shift offers additional placement flexibility, allowing you to shift the image up or down without geometric distortion. The autofocus function ensures optimal sharpness in all circumstances, while the external protective cover shields the lens when the unit is not in use. These features make the VisionMaster Max the first lifestyle projector to incorporate such a sophisticated motorized lens shift system. The distance chart provided by Valerion makes it easy to calculate the optimal throw distances for your desired screen size, from 40 inches (1 meter) to 300 inches (7.62 meters). For example, for a 100-inch (2.54-meter) image, the ideal distance is between 2 and 3.3 meters from the wall or screen.Sound quality to match the pictureOften overlooked on projectors, the audio system of the VisionMaster Max is surprisingly powerful and refined. Equipped with two 12-watt speakers, it delivers clear, immersive sound without the need for additional external equipment.Support for DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio enhances the sound experience by creating a three-dimensional sound field from just two speakers. DTS:X support enables precise spatialization of sound effects, ideal for action movies or nature documentaries. For audiophiles who want to go further, the HDMI eARC port makes it easy to connect to a high-end external audio system or a Dolby Atmos-compatible soundbar, while the S/PDIF and 3.5 mm mini-jack outputs offer extra flexibility.A complete multimedia hub with Google TVThe VisionMaster Max features the Google TV operating system, turning the projector into a true multimedia hub. This intuitive interface centralizes access to major streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV+, and many others, without requiring any external device. The built-in voice assistant lets you control the projector by voice to search for content, adjust settings, or get information. The Google TV ecosystem also offers personalized recommendations based on your viewing habits and preferences.Compatibility with major home automation systems (Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Alexa, Control 4) makes it easy to integrate the projector into a connected home. You can include the VisionMaster Max in your automated routines or control it from other smart devices. The choice of demanding gamersThe VisionMaster Max stands out for its outstanding performance in gaming. Its ultra-low input lag of just 4 ms at 1080p 240 Hz makes it one of the most responsive projectors on the market, perfect for competitive games where every millisecond counts. The projector supports 4K signals up to 144 Hz and can display 1080p content up to 240 Hz, ensuring optimal smoothness even for the most fast-paced games. The ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) function automatically switches to the best settings for gaming as soon as a console is detected.Dedicated features such as Crosshair mode (reticle) and dark detail enhancement offer a competitive edge in shooters or horror games. Support for 21:9 and 32:9 display formats also lets you enjoy an impressive panoramic field of view in compatible games.Comprehensive connectivity and wireless streamingThe VisionMaster Max offers a full range of connections to suit all modern equipment. Its three HDMI ports, including two in version 2.1, allow you to connect multiple high-definition sources simultaneously, such as next-gen consoles, 4K Blu-ray players, or TV set-top boxes.Wireless connectivity is just as well thought out, with Wi‑Fi 6E providing generous bandwidth and reduced latency for streaming. Bluetooth 5.2 lets you connect audio devices such as headphones or wireless speakers.Built-in AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and Miracast technologies make it easy to share content from a smartphone, tablet, or computer without complex cabling. This flexibility turns the projector into a screen mirroring solution for your mobile devices, ideal for professional presentations or sharing photos with family.Refined design and exemplary durabilityThe VisionMaster Max features a sleek, understated design that blends seamlessly into any contemporary interior. Its compact dimensions (26 × 18.6 × 23.4 cm) and manageable weight of 7.5 kg make installation easy, whether on a shelf, coffee table, or ceiling mount. One of the major advantages of laser technology is its exceptional durability. With an estimated lifespan of over 25,000 hours, the VisionMaster Max light source can operate for around 12 years at 5 hours of daily use, without needing replacement. This longevity significantly reduces the total cost of ownership compared to traditional lamp-based projectors. The particularly low noise level of 28 dB in standard mode lets you fully enjoy dialogue and subtle soundscapes without being disturbed by fan noise. This relative quiet is a major asset for intimate movie nights or long late-night gaming sessions.Frequently asked questionsHow is triple RGB laser technology superior to other projection technologies?Triple RGB laser technology uses three distinct laser sources (red, green, blue) to generate light, unlike lamp or LED systems which produce white light that is then filtered. This approach delivers more saturated, more accurate colors and covers 110% of the Rec.2020 color space. Lasers also offer a far longer lifespan (25,000+ hours) and maintain their brightness better over time than traditional lamps, which gradually degrade. What distance is needed to project a 100-inch image? To project a 100-inch (254 cm) 16:9 image, the VisionMaster Max must be placed between 2 meters (minimum with the zoom at wide-angle) and 3.3 meters (maximum with the zoom at telephoto) from the screen or wall. The full projection distance chart is available in the projector’s technical documentation for all image sizes from 40 to 300 inches. Can the projector be used in daylight or a bright room? With its 3000 ISO lumens, the VisionMaster Max provides enough brightness for use in a moderately lit room, ideally with curtains or blinds to control direct light. For use in full daylight or a very bright room, a special high-gain or ambient light-rejecting projection screen is recommended to achieve a high-contrast image.

Dangerous Music didn’t bring BAX to the 500-series until it could be done with zero compromise. BAX500 follows the same core design principles as the rackmount BAX EQ, using identical exacting components selected for both performance and sound, and tested to draconian tolerances to ensure consistency, reliability, and long-term stability. The Broad BAX500 shelves shape several octaves at once, allowing small adjustments to unlock depth, sheen, and weight without pinching the sound or introducing phase incoherence or harshness. Where narrow, surgical EQs excel at solving problems, BAX500 is designed to make musical decisions—revealing what’s already there rather than imposing a new character.High Cut and Low Cut filters with smooth, natural slopes remove infrasonic rumble and ultrasonic interference that quietly eat headroom, smear transients, and reduce clarity. By cleaning up the extremes before further processing, BAX500 helps mixes translate more easily while preserving openness and punch. The signal path is DC-coupled up to the Low Cut filter and features a relay-controlled hard-wired bypass that physically removes the circuit from the signal path for true A/B comparisons. The steel enclosure is fully shielded to protect against unwanted electromagnetic interference, and the laser-etched, paint-filled faceplate is designed to remain legible and durable over decades of use.

Available in your choice of 16- or 32-channel mainframe sizes, Origin Evo incorporates Origin’s PureDrive preamps with Drive control for even greater sonic flexibility. Origin Evo can handle even the most demanding tracking and mixing sessions with ease. And loaded with E-Series 4-band parametric EQ, E-Series dynamics, and SSL’s legendary bus compressor, Origin Evo enhances your mixes with the signature SSL sound that has powered countless hits.Significantly reduced operational costsMost busy studios tend to leave their large-format consoles permanently switched on to avoid problems related to heat cycles and stresses on linear power supplies, which can trigger failures on power-up. For Origin Evo, Solid State Logic developed a new, cutting-edge power supply that’s specifically designed to be powered off and on regularly. The power supply monitors console activity and automatically engages Sleep mode after a period of inactivity. Sleep mode cuts power consumption from 500 watts to that of a 40-watt light bulb. To indicate Sleep mode, an LED on the Wake/Sleep button in the center section glows slowly. Simply press this button to instantly awaken Origin Evo with all your settings intact. This unique feature benefits your studio by significantly reducing running costs, providing a boost to your bottom line.Designed for hybrid setupsDesigned for modern hybrid production studios, Origin Evo provides the analog punch absent from purely digital, “in-the-box” setups while seamlessly integrating into your DAW workflow. To that end, Solid State Logic has made available the new UF-8 Retrofit Kit, a metalwork kit that allows the SSL UF8 advanced DAW controller to be fitted into Origin Evo’s fader tray and the stereo group faders to be relocated to the center section rack space. Origin complements each stage of production, feeding life into your digitally captured tracks on the front end and providing you with the spaciousness and depth of analog summing during mixdown. Origin Evo features the intuitive SSL in-line channel strip design that will be immediately familiar to guest engineers. SSL’s PureDrive mic/line preamps deliver the transparent sound for which SSL’s legacy consoles are famous, but add Drive circuitry that lets you introduce complex, gain-dependent harmonics for sonic richness. Additionally, each channel comes equipped with the acclaimed SSL E-Series parametric EQ, arguably one of the most detailed and flattering equalizers in pro audio history, favored by scores of multi-platinum and Grammy-winning artists, producers, and engineers.E-Series 4-band parametric channel EQThe Black Knob 242 E-Series EQ was SSL’s third console EQ design, following the Brown Knob EQ and the Orange Knob 132 EQ. It improved on its predecessors in several ways: it was more powerful, with an additional 6dB of cut and boost; featured a steeper slope for the highpass filter; and had the capacity to switch the highpass and lowpass filters out of circuit when not being used. However, beyond the spec sheet improvements, the Black Knob EQ quickly gained notoriety for its open and transparent sound, and engineers were struck by how generously they could apply EQ without adding distortion to a signal, especially when cranking up the bass. Origin Evo is equipped with Black Knob 242 E-Series-style EQs on every channel, which can be flipped between the small and large fader paths. When recording into a DAW, the highpass filter is especially useful for eliminating unnecessary low frequencies that can chew up digital headroom. With variable cut and boost per band and switchable EQ curves between bell and shelving on the high-frequency and low-frequency bands, Origin Evo has incredible tone-shaping power with an unmistakably analog sound.E-Series channel dynamicsA particularly notable upgrade from the Origin is the addition of iconic E-Series channel dynamics. With its painstakingly replicated circuits and components, the compressor/gate implementation in Origin Evo remains faithful to that of the original E-Series — a design that delivered the aggressive compression and fast gating and shaped the sound of mega-hit records in the ’80s (drum sounds, perhaps most memorably). Origin Evo’s channel dynamics circuitry includes a true RMS sidechain detector and an all-discrete gain-reduction stage identical to the Class A voltage-controlled amplifier chip used in vintage E-Series consoles. As implemented in Origin Evo, a flexible control set lets you bypass the soft-knee curve, activate fast-attack mode, and select between logarithmic or linear release curves. Together, these features give you a broad range of tone-sculpting options.Multifunction large and small fadersEach of Origin Evo’s channels includes small fader control, with a high-quality 60mm audio fader and pan knob with center detent, and large fader control, with a premium 100mm fader, plus independent pan, solo, and cut. Additionally, both small and large fader paths contain a discrete insert point, with the option to place the insert pre-fader. Cognizant that many contemporary mix engineers prefer to automate within their DAW, SSL supplied Origin Evo with 0dB switches on the large and small fader paths that subtract the faders from those paths, passing unity gain. So, you have the ease of computerized automation along with Origin’s warm, analog character. Typically, the channel input feeds the small fader, and the monitor input feeds the large fader; however, Origin Evo lets you flip the paths with the Path Flip switch, according to your workflow preference. And, during mixdown, the small fader path can be routed to the mix bus, doubling Origin’s channels for handling larger mixes without having to comp tracks in your DAW, for a true large-format console mixing experience.Comprehensive master control streamlines your workflowOrigin Evo’s master control section is the heart of the console and offers quick, fingertip access to its vast functionality, including talkback and rear-panel listen mic, ±10dB trim pots, and routing assign switches for the console’s 16 buses, four stereo returns, monitor management, DIM and MONO controls, left and right mutes, and polarity switch. Sitting prominently in the master control center is SSL’s iconic bus compressor, celebrated for its ability to glue a mix together and make it “sound like a record.” The master control section is customizable, with a modular design and 6U of additional 19-inch rack space to load up with your favorite outboard gear, keyboard, monitor, or DAW controller.Flexible monitor section and clear-cut communications managementSSL is famed for designing well-organized and navigable monitor and communication sections, and Origin Evo continues that tradition. The monitor section is exceptionally flexible, allowing for three sets of monitors — main monitors and two alternate sets with independent trim knobs. So, you can quickly cycle between your monitors, or hook up grot box speakers to check the integrity of your mixes on a less-than-ideal medium. You can select five different monitor sources (mix, 3.5mm jack in, and three external stereo inputs) and simultaneously monitor multiple sources for expanded reference listening and creative applications. Origin Evo’s matrix of sources and outputs simplifies communications management and foldback, keeping engineers, producers, and artists connected throughout the recording process. Customize foldback mixes on two stereo cues or utilize any of the four aux sends for mono parallel mixes. Origin Evo has two options for talkback: a built-in microphone and an XLR input for an external microphone. Each has a dedicated compressor, which, alternatively, can be inserted into any audio channel for the hyper-compressed sound popularized on Phil Collins’ epic “In the Air Tonight” drum solo.Bus matrix for advanced routingOne of the ways Origin Evo keeps its vast functionality within a relatively condensed footprint is by routing assignments to a compact, centralized bus matrix. The bus matrix includes ±10dB trim pots for each of the console’s 16 buses, and its simple 2-button operation makes bus assignment incredibly efficient. Select the bus and track you wish to assign to it, and a blue light indicates they are linked — that’s it! If your routing becomes overly complicated and you need to start from scratch, you can reset it with the push of a button. Below the bus matrix are Origin Evo’s four stereo returns, which have independent trim and level controls, foldback A and B sends, and a bus routing button and indicator light. Not only does this configuration provide an intuitive interface, but it also uses fewer components than other large-format consoles with the same level of routing, reducing future maintenance requirements.Classic SSL bus compressorThe center-section compressor from SSL’s G-Series console has taken on legendary status for its uncanny ability to glue together a mix in a distinctly vital and musical way. Origin Evo includes a faithful re-creation of the G-Series bus compressor. No mere emulation; it’s the real deal, true to the original specs, with added sidechain access and a highpass filter to keep the compressor from over-responding to low frequencies. Featuring classic Threshold, Attack, Ratio, and Makeup controls, the Origin’s bus compressor is effortless to use, and, even at higher ratios, retains the dynamic topography of your mix without sounding squashed and lifeless. One of the final links of Origin Evo’s beautifully rendered analog signal chain, the bus compressor imparts the timeless vibe and personality that made SSL synonymous with world-class pro audio.Versatile, customizable physical designOrigin Evo’s modular center section and compact footprint allow for installation flexibility to meet your ergonomic preferences and space requirements. Based on the industry-standard 19-inch pitch, the console mainframe accommodates inboard rackmount processors and panels. Furthermore, the Master Section can be repositioned to cater to varying priorities dependent on the nature of your work. Additionally, Origin Evo is provisioned with separate insert points for both the large and small fader paths, allowing for additional processing to be easily incorporated into the signal flow. Shipped to you fully assembled, Origin Evo is designed for easy installation. With no external PSU to contend with, you plug it directly into your AC supply, and the intelligent internal power supply auto-adjusts between 90 and 250 volts. Audio wiring is either XLR or AES 59 (TASCAM) DB-25 connectors, and the connector pin layout is designed to plug directly into a standard DB-25 to TT (Bantam) patchbay. The console is passively cooled (no internal fans) and designed to be mounted on legs or to be installed into custom furniture. The Solid State Logic legacySince its founding by Colin Sanders in 1969, Solid State Logic has followed a design philosophy that prioritizes the needs of artists, engineers, and producers. The One and Only Distressor — in Special Anniversary LiveryThe Empirical Labs 30th Anniversary Distressor EL8-XXX adds a distinctive new red faceplate to the legendary digitally controlled analog compressor/limiter. Like its stablemate, this limited edition provides seven compression ratios plus the brickwall Nuke ratio for an unprecedented degree of signal-shaping flexibility. While the Distressor can function very smoothly and transparently, its British mode mimics the hyper-aggressive behavior of a certain beloved vintage FET limiter in its infamous “all buttons in” mode, giving you, essentially, two compressors in one. There are many great dynamics-control devices in today’s market, and at Sweetwater, we get our hands on the best of them. But there’s only one Distressor. Pick up the Empirical Labs 30th Anniversary Distressor EL8-XXX and put it to work on your next project. Trust us: you’ll be amazed — and delighted!Unprecedented dynamics control for your studioThe Distressor EL8-XXX offers 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 6:1, 10:1, and 20:1 compression ratios. Of special note is the 10:1 ratio, which employs separate detector circuitry to emulate the oldest (and still highly prized) light-controlled compressors. Beyond 20:1 limiting, the Distressor offers a “Nuke” ratio that presents once-frisky signals with an impenetrable, solid brick wall. Collectively, the eight ratio settings give you generous dynamics-control leeway from gentle, unobtrusive peak leveling to full-on brickwall limiting, but the Distressor packs another sonic surprise in the form of British “all buttons in” mode.Explosive “all buttons in” modeDeployed on the right source — drum room mics, for instance — British mode can trigger warped, explosive results akin to a seismic event in your control room. Symptoms may include increased distortion, a plateaued slope on initial transients, and extended lag time — kind of like a funhouse mirror for audio. It’s a unique effect that, when used judiciously, can transform a source from the mundane to the sensational. All things considered, the Empirical Labs EL8-XXX 30th Anniversary Distressor delivers an unprecedented degree of dynamics control at a price any studio can afford.Empirical Labs EL8-XXX 30th Anniversary Distressor Features:Digitally controlled analog compressor/limiterChoice of 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 6:1, 10:1, 20:1, and “Nuke” ratios“All buttons in” British mode switch with LED indicatorInput, Attack, Release, and Output controls2 highpass filters (1 in the audio path, 1 in the detector path)LED gain-reduction meteringRedline and 1% THD LED indicatorsStereo Image Link switchHard bypass buttonRugged steel 1U chassis

Avantone’s Value- and Performance-packed CLA-SubPacking 300 watts of power and a custom 10-inch driver, the Avantone Pro CLA-Sub is a perfect studio subwoofer for producers and engineers who record and mix cinema sound or any contemporary music genre with an emphasis on deep bass. While the CLA-Sub is an ideal match for Avantone’s CLA series studio monitors, its versatile crossover filter options make it a value- and performance-packed sub for any studio or home theater setup in small-to-midsize rooms. A unique feature of the CLA-Sub is its ability to be configured in either front-firing or down-firing mode to optimally suit the acoustics of your room.Seamless integration into your monitoring systemIn front-firing mode, the CLA-Sub delivers the cleanest, most accurate bass response, as it doesn’t couple with the floor. In down-firing mode, however, the subwoofer couples to the room by design, thus increasing its output by 3dB. To convert the CLA-Sub from front- to down-firing mode, simply relocate the rubber isolation feet, which are fabricated using a specialized vibration-damping compound that diminishes mechanical coupling with the floor to reduce sympathetic vibrations that can color the sound.Proprietary dual-magnet 10-inch driverThe CLA-Sub’s proprietary 10-inch driver is designed for maximum output with vanishingly low distortion. Its stacked dual ferrite magnet design moves air with higher efficiency and control than conventional woofers. The driver employs a rigid paper cone substrate to minimize distortion, overtones, and harmonics, while providing fast transient response. Engineers at Sweetwater have given the CLA-Sub a serious audition in several monitoring setups and report that it performs admirably in both studio and home settings.Configuration options to accommodate any setupDesigned to accommodate any studio monitoring or home playback setup, the CLA-Sub is spec’d with a high-cut control, sweepable from 50Hz to 180Hz, that lets you dial in the crossover point to your main monitors. There’s also an output low-cut filter that lets you trim the low end at 80Hz or 100Hz for the signal sent to your main monitors. The CLA-Sub also includes polarity and gain controls, and a switchable standby mode that puts the unit into a power-efficient sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity. The rear panel is fitted with locking XLR/TRS combo inputs to keep your audio connections secure. And finally, the sub can be toggled on/off using a footswitch for convenient A/B comparisons. With so much to offer, the Avantone Pro CLA-Sub has proven itself to be a versatile, high-performance subwoofer that punches way above its modest price tag.Avantone Pro CLA-Sub Features:300W studio subwooferCustom dual-magnet 10-in. driverIdeal match for CLA series studio monitorsVersatile crossover filter options accommodate any studio or home theater setupFront-firing and down-firing configurations to suit your mix environmentExclusive dual-magnet driver with rigid paper cone for maximum volume and minimal distortionPorted enclosure for low-end extensionSweepable 50Hz–180Hz crossover lowpass filterSwitchable 80Hz/100Hz highpass filter for output to studio monitorsNo aftermarket acoustic isolation feet requiredRear-panel polarity and gain controlsSwitchable power-saving standby modeLocking XLR/TRS combo inputsFootswitchable operation

Unlimited Sound Shaping with the RND OptoFETSince the late 1950s, optical-based leveling amplifiers have been cherished for their unobtrusive and highly musical dynamics control. A decade later, FET compressor/limiters, prized for their speed and precision, would become fixtures in top recording studios worldwide. Today, processing a signal through both types of compression is a common technique used in tracking, mixing, and mastering. Wouldn’t it be great to have it all in one convenient unit? That dream is now a reality. Featuring a newly designed FET compressor circuit and an optimized optical compressor circuit, plus harmonic enhancement and a comprehensive control set with Dual Stage and Dual Band modes, the Rupert Neve Designs OptoFET delivers virtually unlimited signal-shaping potential for the modern era.Comprehensive control for unprecedented flexibilityAn amazingly versatile analog compressor and waveshaper, the Rupert Neve Designs OptoFET compressor offers both optical-based and FET-based compression — plus harmonic enhancement — in a sleek 1U chassis. Each compressor features a comprehensive control set that includes Attack, Release, Threshold, and Ratio (switchable between 4:1 and 8:1 for the FET, and gentler 2:1 and 5:1 ratios for the Opto). Each section also includes dry/wet Blend, Gain, and a switchable 125Hz sidechain highpass filter, plus Grit and Bloom switches (for the FET and Opto compressors, respectively) that boost appropriate harmonic content when engaged. On the left-hand side of the front panel is the Input gain control and a Signal LED that illuminates green for signal present and red for impending clipping. The right-hand side hosts an Output control and LED meter, plus a Power LED that illuminates green when the unit is switched on. Having access to ±12dB Gain controls for input and output, as well as for each compressor, gives you absolute mastery over your gain staging, allowing you to drive the stages for harmonic content and apply makeup gain as needed for an optimized signal chain.Dual Stage and Dual Band modes: unleash the beastThe front panel sports a clean, intuitive layout with the FET and Opto compressor sections flanking a central global section that is key to maximizing the unique flexibility of this unit. In Dual Stage mode, the Flip switch toggles the order of the compressors in the signal chain, which — without changing any other settings — can make a surprisingly dramatic difference in the sound of your source material. The X-OVER IN switch puts the OptoFET into Dual Band mode, engaging the crossover filters and the corresponding crossover frequency-selection pot. In this mode, each compressor is assigned to either the LF or HF band, facilitating independent processing of both bands simultaneously. The variable Crossover control lets you dial in where the crossover is applied, from 50Hz to 500Hz. The Flip button also functions in Dual Band mode, assigning the FET or Opto to process either frequency band as selected. This can be particularly useful for bass sources, giving you complete control over the bottom end while boosting mids and highs for the ideal amount of string noise and texture. Whether you simply use the FET and Opto compressors in series or as a powerful, frequency-dependent tone-shaping tool, the Rupert Neve Designs OptoFET provides massive creative control that makes it easy to enhance your recordings with everything from transparent vocal smoothing to extreme envelope shaping with stunning harmonic texture.MIL-Spec build quality in the Rupert Neve traditionIn keeping with the Rupert Neve legacy of military-grade parts and build quality, the OptoFET features a robust, all-metal chassis fitted with top-drawer switches and stepped, 31-detent pots, which allow for precise, confident parameter settings and quick, accurate recall. The rear panel is fitted with Neutrik XLR combo jacks for line Input and Output. OptoFET also employs an electronically balanced input stage and a custom RND transformer-coupled, balanced output — a critical component of the authoritative Rupert Neve sound. A 100VAC–240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz IEC-standard 3-pin grounded mains receptacle with power switch, and a ground-lift switch that disconnects pin 1 of the XLR line output from the chassis ground complete the rear-panel layout. The legend continuesRupert Neve Designs is the company founded by legendary console designer Rupert Neve. Rupert’s 80-series consoles had a huge, punchy, and authoritative sound that defined ’70s rock. From London to New York to Los Angeles and beyond, top studios installed Neve boards as fast as possible. By 1977, with the introduction of the NECAM automation system, Neve consoles were the main component of the success formula for any recording studio with world-class aspirations. Today, Rupert Neve Designs continues to advance the state of the art with cutting-edge products that sound incredible and intelligently address the challenges of the digital age. This allows for precise scratches, fast backspins, exact cueing and sensitive pitch bends with maximum control. The redesigned play/cue buttons respond reliably even under constant fire and are designed for over 500,000 operations - perfect for intensive cue juggling. The robust construction ensures consistent, smooth rotation and a direct response without distraction. In combination with the fail-safe track caching, you can maintain complete confidence in your performance even in critical moments - from the club booth to the festival mainstage.Integrated Wi-Fi - wirelessly connected, ready anywhereWith the integrated Wi-Fi, the CDJ-3000X opens up your booth to the cloud: without a LAN cable, you can connect directly to the internet and access cloud storage and music streaming services - ideal for quick setups in clubs, festivals or mobile gigs. The NFC touchpoint on the front speeds up the start: just tap your smartphone with rekordbox for iOS/Android and your Library is ready to go. In combination with CloudDirectPlay and Cloud Library Sync, you can manage playlists across devices; tagged online tracks land in a single overview via the Global Tag List and are pre-loaded for smooth performances. This allows you to prepare sets spontaneously, switch seamlessly between sources (USB, cloud, streaming) and remain as versatile as possible - from warm-up to peak-time slot, without any cable clutter.

At long last, Neumann has resumed production of the classic M 50. Neumann first introduced the M 50 in 1951. Although outwardly identical to its M 49 stablemate — which housed a large diaphragm and was the first studio microphone with a continuously variable polar pattern — the M 50 was built around a small-diaphragm capsule flush-mounted in a small sphere and yielded a fixed omnidirectional pickup pattern. Today, vintage M 50s are legendary and highly sought-after recording tools. If you were to find one in working condition for sale today (a tall order), it would command an astronomical price. Fortunately, for a fraction of that, you can now own a genuine Neumann M 50 V reissue, handcrafted in Germany to original specifications using archived documentation.State-of-the-art vintage-spec reissueThe tolerances and build quality that go into today’s high-end microphones have come a long way since the 1950s. Cutting-edge technology and advanced materials science enable high-precision design and manufacturing unimaginable even a few decades ago. Accordingly, this M 50 V reissue incorporates reliable, state-of-the-art vintage-spec components and technical improvements throughout, such as its newly designed K 33 Ti capsule, which features a lightweight, durable titanium diaphragm, and its RF-proof connector design that resists electromagnetic interference from today’s Wi-Fi and mobile phone signals.True to the original — with improvementsThe original, trailblazing M 50 concept remains the same — a small diaphragm sitting flush-mounted in a 40mm acrylic sphere — resulting in an even response in the diffuse field and gradually boosted directivity at higher frequencies, which particularly lends itself to the capture of live orchestra performances and attendant concert hall ambience. The newly developed K 33 Ti capsule used in the M 50 V leverages the acoustical design of the original K 53 capsule, but benefits from modern build quality, as evidenced by the titanium used to handcraft its delicate diaphragm, which replaces the nickel or aluminum used in the original. The electronics remain true to the original design as well.
