The PH3 is a phono preamplification stage intended for use with an active line-level stereo preamplifier. Fully single-ended from input to output, the PH3 uses a combination of J-FET input stage technology (for low inherent circuit noise) and class A operation vacuum-tube gain via three 6922 twin triodes. Total gain of the PH3 is 54 dB (non-adjustable). Used with typical line preamplifiers having 12 to 18 dB of gain, the PH3 is suitable for phono cartridges having .25 mV output or higher. Input impedance is factory-set at 47K ohms, and input capacitance at 90 pF. For optimal matching to moving-coil and moving-magnet phono cartridges, both input impedance and input capacitance may be adjusted via simple resistor and capacitor changes.A resistor kit (with solder) is supplied for proper loading values between 30 and 800 ohms. Additional resistor values and capacitors may be ordered from the factory. On the rear panel, the PH3 provides one pair of gold-plated, audiophile-grade single-ended connectors for L & R inputs, and one pair for outputs. High-quality single-ended interconnects such as Audio Research LitzLink 2 brand are strongly recommended for best sonic performance with the PH3.
The Audio Research Corporation LS22 Line Stage Preamplifier was chosen for this upgrade project because it has a lot of features and a lot of potential. The features that make it attractive are:• The option of either balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA connections for all inputs and the two sets of outputs.• It has a hard wired power cord that many say gives better performance than using a special power cord with extra connections. (see below for Update.)• It is out of production. The acquisition cost was low.• It has a simple signal path and a large, easily accessible circuit board.• The circuit board is of high quality and has heavy and wide traces. This helps with modifications because less damage to the traces is likely to occur when removing components such as capacitors or when soldering in new parts.• The LS22 was the last ARC line stage to be pure tube in the audio signal path, use a normal volume control, and 6922 tubes. The succeeding model, the LS25, included the new and annoying switch-thing “what the @#$% were they thinking?” volume control. The highly rated LS25 mk. 2 used 6H30 tubes, tubes which I have rarely found to be as true to the heart of music’s emotion as the good old 6922/6DJ8 family of vacuum tubes.

Integrated Amplifier with DAC, DSD, Phono, Airplay, Bluetooth and LAN !M-One is not only an integrated amplifier, but a window into a unique musical experience …No single audio product before the M-One delivers such a feature-packed and modern product that fits into such a small and elegant space – crafted from a single block of Aluminum.Essentially, it's an integrated amplifier, but with every connection you could want. Against all the odds, our engineers have managed to incorporate all the latest connections – Bluetooth aptX, LAN-Network 24bit /384kHz Asynchronous, SPDIF Coax-Opto-AES 24bit / 768kHz USB asynchronous passing DXD, DSD, DOP…, Phono MM / MC, Analog balanced and unbalanced inputs, and DSP with automatic room correction. Analog Balanced and Unbalanced Inputs, are just some of the inclusions. It is often the most demanding constraints that inspire engineers and designers to strive for creative and innovative solutions. Our tailor made M-One integrated amplifiers are a perfect example (M.C.F.) !Good Things Come in Small PackagesGet iOS App >Get Android App >Common audio wisdom dictates that high fidelity is best achieved with separate components, discreet circuitry, and space-consuming electronics and cables. However, this conventional wisdom is not without exception. Seeming contradictions exist where products have been able to produce the same phenomenal sound in a much smaller electronic package. This appears to be the logic behind the brand Micromega, whose paradoxical name has been associated with high-quality audio in unique packages since 1987. The company’s new M-One range of integrated amplifiers lives up to this legacy, offering a sleek and compact visual with a shocking array of connectivity options. It should go without saying that sound quality is at the forefront of the design. The device includes a DAC that is compatible with all high-resolution audio formats, a phono stage for turntables with both moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges, power amplifier for loudspeakers, and many other options. The rear panel of the device has 26 connections, what one would expect from a mainstream A/V receiver rather than an audiophile integrated amplifier. Micromega touts that the device is encased in a cabinet milled from a single block of aluminum, and it comes in a variety of colors to suit the listener’s preferences. The M-One is sure to satisfy even the pickiest room designer or audiophile. It’s an absolute engineering miracle!Since your listening room is the weakest link in your installation, our engineers designed the M.A.R.S system to address this issue. This acoustic correction system and its Room EQ program detect the sound irregularities of your room and attenuate them for a balanced and accurate response.
