The X8 turntable is a true high-end solution with major technical features adapted from the Xtension 9 and 10. For the new sensationally low price you get the heavy, TPE damped mass-loaded platter, which is precision lathed and balanced out of a single piece of aluminium. It is supported by a neodymium magnet which decreases the load on the bearing. Considering the massively heavy platter, this leads to a smoothly rotating base for your vinyls and perfect speed stability. The massive MDF chassis and the top of the line Pro-Ject 9cc EVO carbon tonearm have been ported over to the X8 as well. The major differences to the Xtension 9 and 10 are found in the top of the main platter and the magnetic feet. Instead of the glued-on vinyl top on the platter we went back to the use of slip mats. The X8 comes with our standard felt mat. On the Xtension 9 and 10 you cannot really play around with using different mats due to the vinyl top. This customizability comes back on the X8 and offers a few more options to tailor the sound to your liking. The new feet are still made out of aluminium and are still height-adjustable. The magnetic suspension has been changed to a TPE damped technology, which is very effective in decoupling the X8 from the surface it is placed on. This is a great choice for a more budget orientated turntable as the new feet are faster and easier to set up than magnetic feet and also require less maintenance. What‘s True Balanced? For sure, we offer a moving coil cartridge at this price level, which also makes the turntable ready for balanced phono connections. The X8 comes with a 5pin output jack and with our standard semi-balanced Connect it E 5P -> RCA cable. By upgrading it to our fully balanced 5P to XLR version (available separately) and using a balanced phono stage, like our Phono Box DS3 B or any of our RS/RS2 phono stages, you are fully set-up for the True Balanced experience. This leads to increased dynamics, less noise and improved signal to noise ratios. You can imagine it like hearing parts of your music that literally were not there before.

Vinyl replay makes a huge contribution to the enjoyment of recorded music. At its best, vinyl has a uniquely engaging and musical quality, and with the SuperLine phonostage, the best of vinyl just gets better. The SuperLine is a high performance moving-coil phono stage built in the Naim Audio aluminium reference enclosure with an anodised front panel. It brings all Naim Audio's latest analogue electronic design and environmental isolation techniques to bear on the most delicate analogue element of any hi-fi system - the moving-coil phono signal. The SuperLine requires an external power supply - either the power supply output of an appropriate Naim Audio preamplifier or the SUPERNAIT and NAIT XS integrated amplifiers, or, for optimum performance, a dedicated FlatCap XS, HiCap or SuperCap. SuperLine brings out all that's best in vinyl replay - timing, pitch accuracy, clarity, detail, and the unmistakable naturalness that records can deliver in abundance. Features: RCA and BNC inputs Moving coil only, with cartridge impedance matching adjustment (20 different load combinations possible) Suspension system for delicate electronics as used in 500 Series 24V supply voltage from NaimUniti 2, NAIT XS 2, SUPERNAIT 2, Naim Audio preamplifier (except NAC-N 172 XS), FlatCap XS, HiCap or SuperCap required Bead-blasted, black anodised front panel Technology & Craft The heart of the SuperLine is a new, two-stage single-ended Class A discrete amplifier with part-passive RIAA filtering that runs off 25 internally regulated power supplies and features the transistor "quiet room" thermal isolation technique originally developed for the NAP 500 power amplifier. Essentially, the Trio6 Be is a three-way speaker with a 1” tweeter, a 5” woofer, and an 8” subwoofer. Yet, switching to FOCUS mode reconfigures Trio6 Be in two-way monitor. The Trio6 Be was designed to meet the standards of the most demanding engineers. This dual monitor is the new reference in its price range owing to its extreme neutrality, its precise stereophonic imaging, and its ability to resolve the most minute sonic details, while its Class G amplifiers deliver SPL levels to suit all musical styles. When utilised to its full potential, the Beryllium tweeter reaches up to 40kHz and the 8” subwoofer extends low frequencies down to 35Hz. This offers engineers complete control of the audio signal. The 8” W composite sandwich cone subwoofer is complemented by its large port integrated into the front baffle, making it easy to position the monitor near the front wall without saturating the ports and maintaining excellent low-frequency linearity. Its large front port guaranties consistent performance regardless of SPL levels. It also allows a positioning closed to a wall without wall boost effect, allowing an easy integration even in small rooms. The 5” W composite sandwich cone woofer is installed in an isolated chamber within the cabinet that prevents the sympathetic activation of its other speakers while optimising its acoustic performance. Two front-facing ports provide bass reflex, enabling the woofer to perform identically in both two-way (90Hz – 2.5kHz) and three-way (250Hz – 2.5kHz) configurations. The 1” pure Beryllium inverted dome tweeter provides numerous advantages, including wide dispersion, amazing frequency response linearity, quick dynamics, and unrivaled impulse response. As a two-way speaker, Trio6 Be employs only the 5” woofer and the tweeter, limiting frequencies to between 90Hz and 20kHz. This configuration provides the perfect compromise when checking the quality of the mix for playback systems with limited frequency response, such as TVs, PCs, cars, and portable speaker systems. The frequency response curve of the two-way configuration is identical, though less extended, to its three-way curve, allowing for a perfect comparison that preserves the stereo image. Focusing on this critical middle frequency range facilitates a good mix and enables the engineer to ensure that the levels are just right. A footswitch (not included) activates this configuration remotely from the listening position.A ¼” input jack on the rear panel receives the trigger signal from a remote pedal, while a ¼” output sends a link to the input on a paired monitor.(Most singlebutton guitar amplifier footswitches are compatible)Rotating baffle Trio6 Be may be used vertically or horizontally to optimise positioning thanks to an adjustable aluminum baffle housing the woofer and tweeter. This rotating baffle is capable of rotating 360° in 90° increments, making it one of the most versatile speakers to position.Key pointsTwo monitors in one with remote switching: a quick and effective way to compare the mix translated to a compromised speaker systemWide uncompromised dynamics, linearity, and wide dispersion produced by Beryllium inverted dome tweeter: state-of-the-art speaker design and material Neutral, distortion-free sound thank to W composite sandwich cone Rotating baffle: facilitates both horizontal and vertical setupsSimplified room integration, thank to LF and HF shelving, 160Hz EQ High SPL accommodates all musical styles (115dB peak @ 1m)FOCUS mode (two-way or three-way configuration): Remote pedal (not supplied)Low and high frequencies & 160Hz notch adjusting: three control knobs
Major performance upgrades and now with added love for vinyl. In the six years since the last NAIT integrated amplifiers were released, our research and development team have worked on a range of amplifier improvements. The result is upgraded power amplifier sections for SUPERNAIT 3, delivering greater pace and intimacy to their musical delivery – whether it's driving a pair of loudspeakers or your favourite pair of headphones. SUPERNAIT 3 has received significant performance upgrades, including a built-in phono stage, making it a perfect partner for turntables, as well as for streamers, CD players, or any other music source people want to enjoy with the signature Naim sound. It also includes a Class A preamp output stage which doubles as a headphone amplifier and ceramic heatsink technology that minimises capacitive coupling between the chassis and output transistors for optimum sound quality. Its inputs are each individually decoupled and hand-wired to minimise noise and interference while internal switching employs ultra-low-noise, constant current sources which are derived directly from the electronic design of the flagship NAC 552 preamplifier. The SUPERNAIT 3 can be upgraded with our external power supplies, power amplifiers and even cabling upgrades to get the best from all sources. With our typical obsessive attention to detail – all in service of achieving the most authentic musical performance – the SUPERNAIT 3 benefits from the following features: Class A headphone amplification Alps Blue Velvet volume control Reed relay input selection Ceramic insulators for the power transistors Galvanically isolated microprocessor control section Microphonic-isolating PCB mounts Step up from the NAIT XS3 to the SUPERNAIT 3 and you benefit from a range of superior features, all designed to deliver even better sound quality: Full 24V DR module built-in: enjoy the purer power and performance improvement of Naim’s Discrete Regulation technology for the entire pre-amp stage. Larger toroidal transformer in the power supply: provides greater power and speed of recovery Additional leaded through-hole components in the signal path: further minimises negative effects of vibration and transient thermal conditions Chassis-mounted input sockets hand-wired to the circuit boards: offers enhanced vibration isolation Full Alps Blue Velvet balance control Our R&D team has found a way to more than double the speed of the voltage gain stage, which in turn doubles the rate at which the speaker output stage can react. The second gain stage transistors have been optimised, so they no longer need to be shielded by a cascode stage transistor. Removing the cascode means less amplifier stabilisation is required: that doubles the slew rate and delivers an uplift in sound quality. The phono circuit topology comprises 3 stages: the gain stage, passive equalisation and final gain and active equalisation. This enables excellent noise performance, extended RIAA equalisation beyond the audio band and great overload headroom. All RIAA equalisation capacitors and the RIAA resistors are ‘through-hole’ mounted film designs, with low microphonic pickup and excellent transient performance. As phono stages are 1000x more sensitive than other inputs, this greatly benefits the sound quality. Input impedance is 47kΩ in parallel with 470pF capacitive loading; the gain is perfect for 5mV moving magnet cartridges. Focal leads the way in affordable nearfield monitors by combining breakthrough designs with technologies they first developed for high-end models such as their successful SM series. This Shape 40 is the 4" model in the Shape series, which brings top-quality Focal reference monitoring to your studio, editing suite, songwriting workstation, or any other application where your space may be limited but your need for accurate monitoring isn't. A cutting-edge flax-sandwich cone, M-shaped inverted-dome driver, innovative acoustics, and ideal electronics all add up to a speaker that's extremely linear and free from distortion, offering clear midrange intelligibility and imaging. And thanks to its dual-passive-radiator design, you can comfortably place your Shape 65s near walls, while enjoying extended low end that's still tight, controlled, and accurate.Raising the bar on glass speaker conesFocal first introduced their glass-fiber speaker cones in their SM series, where the extraordinary definition provided by their lightweight rigidity made them an instant hit among professional mix engineers. Focal's Shape series takes this speaker design one step further by introducing a layer of flax fiber, which is significantly more rigid and twice as light as glass fiber. They sandwiched this flax layer between layers of glass fiber, resulting in a piston-like low-frequency action and increased dampening. You'll be astonished by the low-frequency accuracy and midrange clarity these speakers offer. You couldn't ask for better compact nearfield monitors when it comes to critical mixing applications. Revolutionary M-shaped inverted-dome tweeter The Shape series introduces another major design upgrade to Focal's nearfield monitor technology by reimagining their already impressive aluminum-magnesium dome tweeter. For starters, the M shape itself provides increased rigidity, which offers many of the same advantages as the increased rigidity of their flax fiber cones: greater definition with lower distortion. The M-shaped dome works with its own dedicated TMD surround for an impressively linear response below 6kHz. This horn also comes outfitted with housing that provides equal horizontal and vertical directivity, and a less-directional profile overall. Finally, the magnetic component, which features a Kapton former in the voice coil, offers a lower high-frequency distortion than Focal has previously achieved in an affordable nearfield monitor. TMD surround ensures total midrange neutralityBeneath the elegant walnut veneer and meticulously calculated MDF enclosure, each Shape series studio monitor features a number of technologies that give them uniquely linear frequency responses. One of these is the TMD surround ringing either speaker. Strangely enough, this stabilization element comes from special architecture found at the top of skyscrapers such as Taipei 101. These suspended harmonic absorbers promote a more piston-like action that targets specific frequencies. In the Shape series, these surrounds produce a remarkably flat frequency response around 1kHz–2kHz, resulting in astonishing neutrality with virtually no measurable distortion. Double passive-radiators ensure low-end stabilityOne of the technologies Focal popularized in their previous generation upper-end monitors was the use of passive radiators. Just as they did in the SMseries, these passive radiators provide the Shape series reference monitors with an extended low-frequency response that goes far beyond what the seasoned studio engineers at Sweetwater expect from modest-sized nearfields.By balancing low-frequency harmonics with the dual surrounds highlighted above, these passive radiators accomplish what ports simply can't, providing you with low-frequency tuning that extends bass clarity and allows you to position your monitors closer to walls, without compromising accuracy. This detail makes them an ideal choice for small studios and editing suites. Next-generation amplification and electronicsIt's impossible to overstate how important a role the amplifier plays in the function of precision reference monitors such as Focal's Shape series, both in terms of pairing the appropriate electronics with the acoustic elements and in providing you with the flexibility needed to tailor the sound to your control room. Regardless of other settings, Shape series studio monitors provide a stable tonal balance at any volume, a key element in creating mixes that translate well outside the studio. At the same time, you can easily adjust your Shape studio monitors to your room, thanks to the tunable shelving filters and 160Hz crossover slope. There's also an adjustable highpass filter onboard, so you can cut out serious low-frequency problems or accommodate specific subwoofer setups.
