Kanto TT-AM
The TT-AM replaces a turntable's factory slipmat with a rigid acrylic mat. Acrylic has a stiffness close to that of vinyl, so the record rests on a surface that does not resonate along with it.
Less platter resonance

The TT-CRM is a turntable mat made from a blend of cork and rubber. Cork damps vibration while rubber adds mass and grip, so the record sits steadily on the platter.
A quieter surface
The blend of the two materials absorbs unwanted energy returning from the platter to the stylus. According to the manufacturer this translates into a quieter background and a more stable presentation.
No static, no slipping

Kanto TT-AKIT
The TT-AKIT gathers the three tools needed to set up a turntable properly: a stylus force gauge, a cartridge alignment protractor and a bubble level.
The right tracking force
The gauge measures the force with which the stylus sits in the groove. Too little means instability and distortion, too much means needless wear on the vinyl.
Alignment and levelling
The protractor shows whether the cartridge sits correctly over the groove, and the bubble level confirms the turntable is flat. Both are needed at first setup and whenever a cartridge is changed.

What touches the groove
The inner sleeve is the only thing touching the groove when a record is not playing, and it is usually the first thing people ignore.
The trouble with plain paper
The plain paper supplied with many pressings has a fibrous surface. Every time the record goes in and out, those fibres pass over the groove and leave fine scuffing. Paper also builds up static and pulls dust into the groove.
The lining
The poly lining puts a smooth surface between paper and vinyl and limits static. The record slides rather than rubs.
Label window
The window at the centre leaves the label visible, so you can find the side without pulling the record out. The cut corners make it easier to get in and out.
How many you need
A set of 20 covers a small collection, or the pressings worth protecting first: the old ones and the ones you play most.
