A generic lid rarely sits right. The genuine Rega lid is made to the dimensions of Rega’s own turntables and closes just like the original.

It arrives with the hinges already fitted, so it simply slots into the plinth. No modifications, drilling or adjustment are needed.

Less dust, less noise

Dust that settles on the platter and mat transfers to records and on to the stylus, adding clicks and surface noise. A closed lid greatly reduces the problem.

Tonearm and cartridge are the most delicate parts of a turntable. The lid shields them from accidental knocks, especially in homes with children or pets.

Good habits

For best sound many listeners prefer to lift the lid while playing and close it straight afterwards. This avoids airborne vibration while keeping dust away.

The lid is made from clear GPPS and, with a little care, keeps its clarity for years.

Cleaning

Rega advises against cleaning fluids. A lightly damp, clean cloth is enough and avoids clouding or scratching the surface.

Rega warranty

Like every Rega product it is covered by Rega’s Lifetime Limited Warranty against confirmed manufacturing defects.

Replacing the hinges

If your lid is in good condition but the hinges have loosened, a separate Rega hinge set is also available.

The lid fits the Planar 1, Planar 2, Planar 3, Planar 78 and earlier full-size Regas, and is supplied with hinges factory fitted.
