Reference power and build
The RX-A8A uses high-slew-rate amplifiers and 11 amplifier channels, rated at 150 W per channel (8 Ω, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, 0.06% THD, 2 channels driven) and 185 W (8 Ω, 1 kHz, 0.9% THD, 1 channel). It comfortably drives even demanding floorstanders in large rooms.
Amplifier unit
The amplifier stages are designed for low noise and stable behaviour across all channels at once, so action scenes have dynamics without distortion and quiet moments keep every detail.
Rigid construction
The chassis design and anti-resonance technology, with the characteristic fifth foot at the centre, reduce vibration and keep the sound clean and stable. Weighing 21.4 kg, the RX-A8A is a reference-grade build.
ESS DACs and digital processing
In the digital domain, the RX-A8A uses two ESS Hyperstream ES9026PRO DACs at 384 kHz / 32-bit, for exceptionally clean and detailed conversion of every channel.
SURROUND:AI and CINEMA DSP HD³
SURROUND:AI analyses scenes in real time and adapts the sound field to dialogue, music or effects. CINEMA DSP HD³ with 24 DSP programs recreates the acoustics of real venues. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and AURO-3D are supported, along with Virtual Presence Speaker, Dialogue Lift and Dialog Level Adjustment.
YPAO 3D
YPAO room correction with multi-point measurement, R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control), 3D and 64-bit EQ tunes the sound precisely for your own room.
8K HDMI, Zones and MusicCast

7 8K HDMI inputs
Seven HDMI inputs and three outputs (HDCP 2.3) support 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz at 40 Gbps, eARC, VRR and ALLM for gaming, Dolby Vision and HDR10+, with upscaling up to 8K. There are also a phono input, XLR inputs, six analogue, three optical and two coaxial inputs.
Multi-room and streaming
With Zone 2 (pre-out / HDMI) and Zone 3 (pre-out) sound reaches other rooms, while MusicCast, AirPlay 2, 2.4 / 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (SBC / AAC) give access to all your music. Wireless rear speakers can be added via MusicCast Surround.
