Serious power for your speakers
The AMP 20 draws on Marantz's long heritage in high-end electronics. With twelve channels, it delivers up to 200 W per channel into 8 ohms and 400 W into 4 ohms, enough to drive every speaker in a complete home cinema system.
Power supply and HDAM
The power supply is built around a very low-noise toroidal transformer and amplification around Marantz's own HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) circuits, designed for the widest possible frequency range and dynamics. Custom capacitors respond quickly to high current demand, ideal for today's high-resolution formats.
Cinema and music
The AMP 20 delivers film soundtracks and music alike with dynamics, warmth and naturalness.
Bridge, bi-amping and XLR
Besides driving twelve speakers, the AMP 20 can run in bi-amp mode, powering the bass and treble sections of your speakers separately. In bridge mode two channels combine into one with 400 W into 8 ohms, for an even stronger front stage.
Connects to any preamplifier
With twelve unbalanced RCA and twelve balanced XLR inputs, the AMP 20 connects to any AV preamplifier, although the best match is of course the Marantz AV 20. You can also combine additional Marantz power amplifiers for larger speaker layouts.
Automatic control
The trigger input switches it on automatically with the preamplifier, while the RS-232 port allows control from a home automation system.
Copper-plated chassis, timeless design
The AMP 20 is built with great care and high-quality materials. Its very thick metal chassis is copper-plated, acting as a barrier against electromagnetic waves and protecting the internal components from interference and unwanted vibration.
Signature front panel
Marantz's timeless design shows on the front panel, while the iconic porthole becomes a circular VU meter. With a Marantz preamplifier, the AMP 20 is controlled and switched on together with it.
