Denon's top integrated amplifier distils decades of experience in stereo amplification. It combines a powerful analogue section with an advanced digital stage, in a chassis built at the company's Shirakawa factory in Japan, where its most ambitious models are made.

Sturdy chassis

Weighing 24.6 kg and measuring 434 x 182 x 443 mm, the amplifier shows the seriousness of its construction at first glance. The mass and rigidity of the chassis limit vibration and create a quiet environment for the sensitive preamplifier circuitry.

Tuned by the sound master

Its final sonic signature is the result of many hours of listening by Denon's sound master, who evaluates every component by its musical contribution. The goal is a sound with energy, resolution and natural balance, free of artificial colouration.

Classic look, modern use

Large rotary controls for source, volume, tone and balance sit alongside a discreet display showing the selected source and volume level. The system remote also controls other Denon components in the series.

Visually and sonically it is a perfect match for the DCD-3000NE SACD player, forming a complete flagship system with a single design language. Together they cover the whole path from disc to loudspeakers, with the same care at every stage and the same sonic philosophy.

At the heart of the amplifier is a high-current output stage designed to drive even demanding loudspeakers with confidence. Power reaches 80 W per channel into 8 ohms and 160 W per channel into 4 ohms, with low distortion across the audio band.

UHC-MOS single push-pull circuit

Denon uses high-current UHC-MOS transistors in a single push-pull arrangement. With just one pair per channel, the signal keeps its purity and speed, while the high current capability gives control and depth in the low frequencies. According to the manufacturer, the amplifier suits most bookshelf and floorstanding speakers, without losing composure at high levels.

Variable gain preamplifier

The preamplifier adapts its gain to the volume setting, so noise stays very low at normal listening levels. Quiet recordings are revealed against a clean, black background.

Source Direct and Analog Amp Mode

Source Direct bypasses the tone circuits for the shortest signal path. Analog Amp Mode, at the press of a front-panel button, switches off the digital section entirely when you listen to analogue sources, eliminating possible interference.

Measurable clarity

According to the manufacturer, total harmonic distortion is limited to 0.01%, while the signal-to-noise ratio reaches 107 dB on the line inputs. Bass and treble controls offer ±8 dB of adjustment, for subtle tuning to your room acoustics when needed.

Digital stage and connectivity

Beyond its analogue nature, the amplifier integrates a high-specification digital stage and extensive connections, so it can become the centre of a modern system with a turntable, CD player, streamer, computer and TV.

Quad DAC and Ultra AL32

Four ES9018K2M chips working with Denon's Ultra AL32 Processing reconstruct the waveform with great precision. A master clock in the digital stage reduces jitter for a more focused image. Your digital sources thus gain the same naturalness and resolution as your analogue ones, with no need for an external converter.

High-resolution USB DAC

The USB-B port operates in asynchronous mode and accepts PCM files up to 384 kHz/32-bit and DSD up to 11.2 MHz from a Windows or Mac computer. The three optical inputs and the coaxial input support up to 192 kHz/24-bit.

MM and MC phono

The built-in phono stage accepts moving magnet and moving coil cartridges, selectable from the front panel, so your turntable connects directly without an external preamplifier. The emphasis on low noise in the phono stage lets your vinyl collection sound lively and detailed.

Flexibility in the system

Four analogue inputs (including phono), a recorder output and a power amp input allow use with an external preamplifier or home cinema processor. There is also a front headphone output, two pairs of speaker terminals and a Remote Control Bus port.
