Belt-drive turntable with S-shaped arm, phono stage and recording to USB stick
The Denon DP-450USB is a belt-drive turntable with an S-shaped tonearm, a built-in phono preamplifier and a USB port for recording your records to a USB stick. It combines hi-fi vinyl playback with easy digitising of your collection.
An elegant turntable for any room
The DP-450USB is for those who want to enjoy their vinyl collection with hi-fi quality and, at the same time, bring it into the digital world. Drawing on more than 110 years of audio history, Denon has combined the mechanical precision of a serious turntable with the ease of use today's listener expects, in a package with clean, timeless looks.
Discreet presence
Measuring 414 x 342 x 132 mm and weighing 5.8 kg with its cover, the DP-450USB sits firmly on the furniture without dominating the room. Its simple lines suit both modern and classic systems, in a living room, study or listening room.
Detachable dust cover
Instead of a hinged lid, the cover lifts off completely during playback so it does not transmit vibration to the chassis. Placed on the supplied stand, it stands upright and shows off the sleeve of the record currently playing.
Ready out of the box
The MM cartridge comes pre-mounted and the tonearm factory-adjusted. Simply fit the platter, belt and counterweight to get started, with no special tools or measurements. Within minutes of opening the box, the first record is spinning on the platter.
Sonic tuning
Like every Denon product, it has been sonically tuned by the company's sound master so that it performs with the brand's musical character. The goal is not a sound that impresses for a few minutes, but a natural, relaxed presentation for many hours of listening.
Accurate vinyl playback
The foundation of the DP-450USB's performance is a mechanism designed to read the groove accurately and treat your records with care and respect. Steady rotation, correct tonearm geometry and automatic lift at the end of the side work together for clean, balanced sound every time you listen.
Belt drive and speed control
The DC motor drives the platter through a belt, keeping its vibration away from the stylus. A sensor monitors and automatically corrects speed for stable pitch, with wow and flutter of 0.08% (WRMS). Slow piano notes and sustained tones sound steady, without audible fluctuation.
Curved S-shaped tonearm
The S-shaped tonearm has an optimised tracking angle so the stylus follows the groove correctly from the outer edge to the inner part of the record. The result is less harmonic distortion and a clearer, more focused stereo image.
Semi-automatic operation
You cue the stylus by hand and let the turntable take care of the end: the tonearm lifts and rotation stops automatically, limiting stylus wear. There is no need to rush to the turntable at the end of a side, and the stylus does not run needlessly in the run-out groove.
LPs, singles and 78s
The speed selector covers 33 1/3, 45 and 78 rpm, so modern LPs, singles and older 78 rpm records can all be played, with a 45 rpm adapter included for large-hole singles.
Digitising and connectivity
The DP-450USB stands out because it can turn your records into digital files without a computer, while connecting flexibly to almost any system. It is ideal for preserving rare pressings, listening to your collection on the move or sharing a favourite recording. Listening from vinyl and digital archiving are handled by the same device.
One-touch USB recording
Plug a USB stick into the USB-A port and start recording with a single button. Files are saved as MP3 at 192 kbps or uncompressed WAV at 44.1 kHz/16 bit and are easy to transfer to a smartphone, tablet or portable player. WAV retains full CD quality for archiving, while MP3 saves space for everyday listening.
Built-in phono preamplifier
The internal phono stage delivers a 150 mV line-level signal, with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz response and a 65 dB signal-to-noise ratio. The turntable can therefore connect directly to active speakers, a mini system or an amplifier without a phono input.
External phono option
With the switch, the internal stage is bypassed and the cartridge output, 2.5 mV at 1 kHz, goes to a phono input or a separate preamplifier, when your system already has a quality phono stage.
Room to upgrade
The universal headshell allows another cartridge to be fitted later, even an MC model with a suitable preamplifier, for those who want their sound to evolve. The box includes an audio cable and power adapter, so you can connect straight away.
