5.2-channel AV receiver with 8K, eARC, DTS:X and Bluetooth
The Denon AVR-X580BT is a 5.2-channel home cinema receiver with 8K HDMI, eARC, Dolby TrueHD and DTS:X. With Bluetooth and easy setup, it is the ideal first step into surround sound in the living room.
A first step into home cinema
A receiver that makes the move from TV speakers or a soundbar to a real surround system simple. Five channels of amplification, modern video support and wireless music via Bluetooth, in a unit that is easy to set up even for those who have never used an AV receiver before.
Designed for the living room
The 5.2 configuration is the most practical solution for most living rooms: three speakers at the front, two surrounds behind the listening position and up to two subwoofers. Sound envelops the viewer without the need for ceiling speakers or special construction.
Power for everyday enjoyment
Each channel delivers 70 W into 8 ohms (20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, two channels driven). This comfortably suits bookshelf speakers and moderate floorstanding speakers in small and medium-sized rooms.
Two subwoofer outputs
Even in this class, the receiver has two subwoofer outputs. Using two bass units helps low frequencies sound more even across the whole sofa, with fewer spots where bass disappears or booms.
The Denon sound
The receiver brings Denon’s characteristic performance in an accessible form: clear dialogue, dynamic effects and a warm, enjoyable tone for hours of listening.
Compact chassis
At 434 mm wide, 151 mm high, 330 mm deep and weighing 7.6 kg, it fits in any standard TV cabinet, next to the screen or on a shelf, without needing special space.
8K picture and surround sound
Despite its place in the range, the receiver is ready for new-generation video sources and for the multichannel formats used by films and series today.
Four HDMI inputs
Four HDMI inputs accept a player, console, set-top box and streaming device, while one output drives the TV. 8K pass-through and 4K-to-8K upscaling ensure the receiver will not hold back a future display.
HDR and content protection
HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, Dynamic HDR and Dolby Vision pass-through are supported, along with HDCP 2.3. The picture reaches the TV with all the brightness, contrast and colour the content was mastered with.
eARC from the TV
Via eARC, sound from the TV apps returns to the receiver in high quality, so streaming apps such as Netflix or YouTube play through the whole speaker system over a single HDMI cable.
Multichannel formats
Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS:X are decoded, while DTS Neural:X and the Dolby and DTS upmixers spread stereo sources such as TV broadcasts and music across all speakers.
For gaming
Consoles connect directly to the receiver via HDMI and game audio plays in full surround, so footsteps, movement and explosions can be located around the player. The low-latency mode keeps sound and picture in sync during play.
One hub for all sources
Instead of connecting every device to the TV, they pass through the receiver, which handles source switching and sends the picture over a single cable. That way every source always uses all the speakers.
Bluetooth and easy setup
Everyday use is simple: the receiver is set up with on-screen guidance and plays music from your phone with a single tap.
Music via Bluetooth
Built-in Bluetooth enables wireless playback from a phone, tablet or computer. Playlists and the streaming services on your phone play through the home cinema speakers with no extra devices, turning the system into a complete music player as well.
Setup Assistant
The Denon Setup Assistant appears on the TV screen and explains step by step how to connect speakers and sources. Even a 5.2 system is set up quickly and without mistakes.
Automatic speaker setup
With the supplied microphone, the receiver measures the speakers at the listening position and sets distances and levels, so the sound is properly balanced in your specific room.
Digital and analogue inputs
Two optical and one coaxial digital input, together with two analogue inputs, cover CD players, older consoles and other sources without HDMI.
Remote and app
Control comes from the simple remote or the Denon app on your phone, for changing source and volume from the sofa. Standby consumption is just 0.1 W.
Display and menus
The front display shows source, volume and audio format, while the on-screen settings menus are available in several languages, for comfortable setup without a manual. With five pairs of speaker terminals, wiring the speakers is simple and tidy.
