Denon AVR-S770H 7.2 Black

The Denon AVR-S770H is a 7.2-channel home cinema receiver with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and 8K HDMI. With HEOS, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth, it is an easy starting point for immersive sound and streaming in the living room.

Immersive sound for every living room

A receiver that brings Dolby Atmos to small and medium living rooms in a simple, affordable way. Seven channels of amplification, modern 8K video and built-in streaming come together with tools that make installation easy, even for those setting up their first system.

Seven channels, two choices

The 7.2 configuration drives either a classic seven-channel system or a 5.2.2 layout with two height speakers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. You can choose between side and rear surrounds or sound that also comes from above.

Power for small and medium rooms

Each channel delivers 75 W into 8 ohms (20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, two channels driven). The power suits bookshelf and floorstanding speakers in small and medium living rooms, with headroom for the dynamic moments of a film and the clarity needed for music.

Two subwoofer outputs

Two subwoofer outputs allow two bass units to be used, for more even and controlled low end across the room. Adjustable crossover and optimised bass redirection help blend the subwoofers correctly with the speakers.

The Denon sound

Delivery combines clear dialogue, lively effects and natural tone, so the receiver is equally convincing with films, series and music, without tiring the ear.

Dimensions for any cabinet

At 434 mm wide, 151 mm high, 339 mm deep and weighing 8.6 kg, it fits comfortably in a standard TV cabinet or on a shelf next to the screen.

8K video, Atmos and gaming

The picture and sound platform is ready for today’s sources, from new-generation consoles to streaming services with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

HDMI for 8K and 4K/120

Six HDMI inputs, three supporting 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz, and one output with eARC. The video circuit upscales to 8K, and HDCP 2.3 and standby pass-through are supported, so the TV can show a source even when the receiver is off.

HDR and gaming

Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG and Dynamic HDR pass through without loss. For gaming there is VRR, ALLM and QFT, reducing latency and smoothing motion on consoles.

Dolby Atmos without ceiling speakers

Beyond full decoding of Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio, the Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer and DTS Virtual:X create a sense of height even without height speakers. Dolby Atmos Music is also supported for immersive music mixes.

Automatic calibration

Audyssey MultEQ, with the supplied microphone, measures the room acoustics and corrects the response. Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume keep the sound full even at low volume, which is useful for late-night listening.

All sources in one hub

Console, player, set-top box and streaming device connect to the receiver, and the picture reaches the TV over a single cable. Via eARC, the TV’s own apps also play through the full speaker system, with full Dolby Atmos support. CEC allows basic functions to be controlled from the TV remote as well.

Streaming, control and setup

The receiver is also a complete music system for the whole home, with built-in networking, many streaming services and practical tools for easy setup and use.

HEOS and multiroom

HEOS gives direct access to Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Deezer, Qobuz and TuneIn, with playback across multiple rooms. AirPlay 2 serves Apple devices, and Bluetooth can also send sound to wireless headphones for private listening.

Hi-Res and Roon

Over Wi-Fi or Ethernet it plays FLAC, ALAC and WAV files up to 24-bit/192 kHz and DSD up to 5.6 MHz. The unit is Roon Tested for direct integration into a Roon system, and also supports Amazon Music HD at high resolution.

Vinyl, radio and USB

The MM phono input accepts a turntable directly. There are also analogue, optical and coaxial inputs, a USB port and an FM tuner with RDS, so every source in the home has its place in the system.

A second zone

Zone 2 sends stereo music to another room, with a different source from the main zone. For example, you can watch a film in the living room while radio or a playlist from your phone plays in the kitchen or on the terrace.

Setup Assistant and voice control

The Setup Assistant guides you step by step through connecting speakers and sources. Control comes from the remote, the HEOS app or Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and Josh.ai compatibility is also provided.
