Denon AVR-S980H 7.2 Black

The heart of your home cinema

With the AVR-S980H dialogue sounds clearer, effects feel more dynamic, and picture and sound come together.

A receiver that grows with you

Start with two speakers, add surrounds for 5.1 and grow into 7.2 and Dolby Atmos without changing receiver. Two subwoofer outputs give more even bass.

70% power guarantee

Denon guarantees that the amplifier delivers over 70% of its rated output to up to five channels at once. Dialogue stays clear and effects stay controlled as your system grows.

Power for every scene

Ninety watts of clean power per channel keep dialogue clear and detail visible, with focused, controlled sound in every scene.

Calibration, HEOS and listening

Most rooms are not built for perfect sound. Audyssey MultEQ measures the room and sets speaker levels and distances automatically, so sound is balanced at the listening position.

HEOS in every room

With the HEOS app you stream your music around the home, with set-up in minutes. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for easy playback from your phone, and audio sent to headphones with adjustable level.

Connections

MM phono input for a turntable, 4 analogue, 2 optical and 1 coaxial input, 0.2 multichannel pre-out, AM/FM tuner and second-zone capability.

Dolby Atmos, 8K and gaming

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X deliver 360-degree sound that surrounds you from every direction, in films, music and games.

4K and 8K video

4K or 8K picture with Dolby Vision for better colour and contrast, and upscaling for HD sources. Switch from TV to gaming or streaming without hunting for inputs, and control power and volume with the TV remote over HDMI.

Gaming

Variable Refresh Rate, Auto Low Latency Mode and AMD FreeSync keep 4K gaming smooth and response immediate.

Phono and sources

An MM phono input for your turntable, four analogue and three digital inputs, and an AM/FM tuner, for every source in the home.

Second zone

Multi-Source / Multi-Zone sends a different source to a second room, without a second amplifier.
