The Denon AVC-X4800H is a 9.4-channel home cinema amplifier with 11.4-channel processing and 125 W per channel (8 Ω, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.05%, 2 channels). It supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and Auro-3D, has 7 HDMI inputs and 3 outputs, with 8K on every input,, and HEOS for whole-home streaming. Designed and built in Japan.

Cinematic sound for large rooms

The AVC-X4800H, successor to the AVC-X4700H, is a 9.4-channel amplifier for large living rooms and screening rooms, with improved HDMI connectivity and processing up to 11.4 channels with an external power amp.

Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D

It decodes Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and Auro-3D, in 9.4, 7.4.2 or 5.4.4 layouts with ceiling speakers. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X give a sense of overhead sound even with 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1 layouts.

Four subwoofers

Four independent subwoofer outputs deliver even, powerful bass across the whole room.

9 power amps, 125 W

Nine power amplifiers deliver 125 W per channel, and AL32 Processing Multichannel keeps the detail on every channel.

8K on every input

All 7 HDMI inputs and 2 of the 3 outputs support 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz. Upscaling takes every source to 8K, and Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR are supported.

Gaming

With VRR, QFT, QMS and ALLM the picture stays smooth, with no tearing and minimal lag on next-generation consoles.

Calibration

Audyssey MultEQ XT32 measures the room with the supplied microphone and adapts the sound. Dynamic Volume limits volume swings for late-night listening, and the amplifier can optionally be upgraded to Dirac Live.

Streaming and multiroom

Over Ethernet or Wi-Fi it plays music from a NAS or computer (FLAC, ALAC, WAV up to 24-bit/192 kHz, DSD 2.8 and 5.6 MHz), internet radio and services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer and Apple Music through HEOS. With HEOS and AirPlay 2 it shares music with other rooms, and it also supports Bluetooth and is Roon Tested.

Voice control

It is controlled by remote, app and voice, through speakers with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri.

7 HDMI inputs and 3 outputs (one eARC), 6 RCA analogue inputs including MM phono, 2 optical and 2 coaxial inputs, an 11.4 pre-out and Zone 2 and Zone 3 outputs.
