Dolby Atmos with a wireless subwoofer
The Yamaha SR-X50A (True X Bar 50A) is a 280 W Dolby Atmos soundbar system that pairs the slim True X soundbar with a 100 W wireless subwoofer. The soundbar, just 6.3 cm tall, fits in front of almost any TV or can be wall-mounted, while the subwoofer connects without an audio cable and goes wherever suits the room.
A system that grows with you
As part of the True X series, the SR-X50A can become a complete wireless home cinema: add a pair of battery-powered WS-X1A surround speakers that you can place wherever you like. Everything connects wirelessly through True X Surround technology.
Dolby Atmos, True Sound and deep bass
The SR-X50A uses Yamaha True Sound technology, which combines the company's experience in musical instruments with electronic audio processing to reproduce sound the way its creators intended: clear, natural and with a real sense of space.
Genuine height drivers
Two 5.2 cm drivers on the top panel fire sound towards the ceiling to create the vertical effects of Dolby Atmos, while two 4.6 × 6.6 cm drivers at the front handle the left and right channels. Effects move around and above the viewer, building a three-dimensional sound image for films, series and games without extra speakers in the room.
Wireless subwoofer and 280 W
The soundbar's two built-in 7.5 cm bass drivers are joined by a wireless subwoofer with a 16 cm driver and its own 100 W amplifier. Together with Bass Extension they deliver deep, dynamic bass you can feel in action scenes and in music. The total 280 W, with six 30 W channels in the soundbar and 100 W in the subwoofer, comfortably fills even large living rooms.
In the SR-X50A every element has an acoustic role: the cabinet, the bass reflex port and the front fabric were chosen to preserve the fine details of the sound, so the soundbar is just as convincing with an action scene as with a quiet acoustic recording.
Four sound modes and Clear Voice
Every kind of content has its own needs. That is why the SR-X50A offers four sound modes, switched with a single press on the remote or from the app.
Stereo, Standard, Movie and Game
Stereo plays music and podcasts in clean two-channel sound. Standard suits TV programmes, news and documentaries. Movie widens the soundstage for a true cinema experience, while Game puts the player at the centre of the action, with precise placement of the sounds around them so they hear first where an opponent is coming from.
Clear dialogue with Clear Voice
Clear Voice lifts human voices so that dialogue stays clear even in effects-heavy scenes or at low volume late at night. Automatic lip-sync with up to 500 ms of correction keeps sound in step with the picture, so actors' lips always match what you hear.
Every setting is easy to reach from the Sound Bar Controller app: switch sound modes, turn Clear Voice and Bass Extension on or off and adjust the volume, without hunting for the remote. The SR-X50A adapts quickly to whatever you are watching or listening to, at any time of day.
Streaming, HDMI eARC and Alexa
The SR-X50A is more than a TV soundbar: it is the entertainment hub of your living room, for films, games and music.
Easy connection to TV and sources
The HDMI eARC output connects the soundbar to the TV with a single cable and carries sound from the TV's apps and connected sources. The HDMI input with 4K pass-through accepts a console, Blu-ray player or set-top box and passes the picture on to the TV, while the optical digital input covers older TVs. With HDMI CEC you can also adjust the volume from the TV remote.
Music from everywhere
Over Wi-Fi it supports AirPlay 2 and streaming services such as Spotify and TIDAL, while Bluetooth 5.0 (SBC, AAC) connects any phone instantly. Built-in Amazon Alexa allows voice control, and the Sound Bar Controller app gives access to every setting from a phone or tablet.
Because it belongs to the True X series, the SR-X50A is ready to be upgraded whenever you wish. With a pair of WS-X1A wireless speakers at the back, the system becomes a full surround setup, with no speaker cables in the room and no new amplifier.
