The ultimate GIYA, now with copper technology
The Vivid Audio GIYA G1 Spirit Cu is the largest, top-of-the-range floorstanding loudspeaker in the GIYA series, in the new Cu version with copper technology in the midrange. A four-way system with five drivers, all designed and built by Vivid Audio, it is made for listeners who want the most transparent, natural sound in large listening rooms.
The best of GIYA
The G1 Spirit Cu brings together the very best Vivid Audio has created for the GIYA range. Like every GIYA, its shape follows a simple idea: curved surfaces produce a cleaner, more honest sound than the flat panels and corners of a conventional box.
Its large internal volume gives it the most powerful bass in the range. Patented reaction-cancelling bass drivers render every note clearly, without blurring, while Tapered Tube loading on the midrange and treble removes the resonances that colour the sound. It is available in Piano Black, Lexus Pearl White and Oyster Grey Matte, as well as any PPG automotive colour to order.
Copper in the midrange: lower distortion
The third generation of GIYA brings technology from the flagship MOYA M1. The midrange drivers gain a copper cap on the magnet pole, which noticeably lowers second- and third-harmonic distortion. According to Vivid Audio, third-harmonic distortion drops by 20 dB.
The result is a cleaner, more uncoloured midrange, with voices and instruments that sound more natural. The Cu series also brings redesigned crossovers, lighter and stiffer enclosures, individual MOYA-style driver grilles and easier access to the terminals.
Optional external crossover
All GIYA Cu models are available with an optional external crossover. It is housed in a separate case finished in piano gloss to the same standard as the loudspeaker, with two pairs of input terminals for the same bi-wire and bi-amp options as the standard version. A professional eight-way cable with a metal-cased NL8 connector links the crossover to the loudspeaker.
The crossover can easily be disconnected. With an eight-way cable the loudspeaker can then be driven by four amplifiers through an active crossover, one per driver section. For active operation Vivid Audio also offers a dedicated break out unit.
