NEED HELP?

Our expert advisors can help you.

Designed by rethinking every single part of a classic turntable

Spira is a manual belt-drive turntable that is ready to play from day one: an Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge fitted and aligned at the factory, a built-in phono preamp that can be switched off and a Bluetooth transmitter for headphones or speakers. Nothing else is needed to start playing your records.

Key features

  • Belt drive with electronic 33⅓ / 45 rpm speed selection
  • 1.8 kg steel platter
  • Pre-fitted Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge
  • Aluminium tonearm with removable headshell
  • Adjustable tracking force and anti-skate
  • Switchable RIAA phono preamp
  • Bluetooth transmitter

Ready to play, connects to anything

Spira brings more than half a century of Cambridge Audio experience to vinyl, in a turntable aimed both at those starting a collection and at those who want a proper, upgradeable foundation. Every Spira arrives with the cartridge already fitted and aligned, so no adjustment is needed from the very first record.

With what you own or buy next

Connect it to an existing hi-fi system, a new amplifier, active speakers, a Bluetooth speaker or even wireless headphones for late-night listening. No research is needed before the first play: Spira adapts to what you have today and grows with your system.

Upgrades over time

As your collection and your ear develop, Spira develops with you. A new stylus or cartridge reveals more detail, such as the 3600LE elliptical stylus that fits in seconds, while the removable headshell makes cartridge changes and maintenance simple.

In five colours

It comes in black, white, blue, green and orange, in shades that match the L/R S, L/R M and L/R X active speakers for a system with a unified look.

Made by people who love music

Cambridge Audio has been designing award-winning audio systems in London since 1968. Spira brings the same thinking to vinyl: nothing unnecessary between you and the record you are playing, just what it takes to play it properly.

Steady rotation, precise tracking

A DC motor drives the platter via a belt, so its vibrations are not passed directly to the record. Speed is selected electronically with a dial, with no need to move the belt by hand, and wow and flutter is below 0.15%.

1.8 kg steel platter

The heavy steel platter with integrated sub-platter has high inertia that stabilises rotation and limits vibration, so music keeps its rhythm and timing. It runs on a ball bearing with a felt mat, while the MDF plinth sits on isolating rubber feet.

Tonearm and cartridge

The straight aluminium tonearm has an effective length of 218.5 mm and effective mass of 7.3 g, with adjustable tracking force and anti-skate for real control over how the groove is read. The Audio-Technica AT3600L moving magnet cartridge, with a conical stylus, works at a recommended 3–3.5 g.

Easy set-up

Because the cartridge arrives already aligned, you only need to fit the platter and belt, balance the counterweight and set the tracking force. The supplied protractor helps if you change the cartridge later. Correct set-up protects your records and keeps the stylus in good condition for longer.

Built-in phono and Bluetooth

The built-in RIAA phono preamp lets you connect Spira directly to an amplifier line input or to active speakers, with no external preamp. When you want to upgrade, the preamp can be bypassed to use a separate phono stage.

Wireless to speakers and headphones

The Bluetooth transmitter sends the sound of your records to a compatible speaker, headphones or wireless earbuds, for more private listening at home. The analogue output remains available for a classic hi-fi system, so Spira moves easily from a simple set-up with active speakers to a system with a separate amplifier.

In the box

The box includes a power supply, RCA cable, removable dust cover, cartridge alignment protractor and a 7" single adapter. At 41.8 × 34.3 × 12.2 cm and 5.95 kg, it fits on any audio furniture.

A perfect match for L/R

With Cambridge Audio’s L/R S or L/R M active speakers, which have a line input, Spira creates a complete vinyl system with just two products. The colours of both ranges are designed to match, for a result that looks as good as it sounds.
