Cambridge Audio L/R X Orange (Pair)

L/R X uses the 28 mm Torus tweeter, a technology developed by Cambridge Audio for greater precision and wider dispersion at high frequencies. The chamber behind the dome is shaped like a torus and acts as an internal horn that absorbs the energy radiated backwards, reducing internal reflections and harmonic distortion. The dual-radius aluminium dome has about 25% more surface area than a conventional 25 mm tweeter, while the waveguide keeps the sound clear even off-axis.

Two woofers and two passive radiators

Each speaker has two long-throw 12.7 cm woofers: one on the front baffle and one built into the base of the speaker. They work with two force-cancelling 15.2 cm passive radiators that extend the bass lower and limit cabinet vibration.

Bass without a subwoofer

The 2.5-way architecture delivers deep, controlled bass reminiscent of much larger speakers, with a response from 35 Hz. L/R X easily fills a large living room without a subwoofer, and if you want even more low end, the subwoofer output lets you expand to a 2.1 system.

The result is sound with depth, texture and presence that keeps its composure and clarity wherever you sit in the room. Voices and instruments sound natural, with correct scale and clean separation, even on complex recordings.

Every pair of L/R X has 800 W of digital amplification, 400 W per speaker, with a dedicated amplifier for each driver and digital crossovers. The generous power delivers dynamic, confident sound that fills a living room, bedroom or office, without losing composure as the volume rises.

64-bit processing

A 64-bit signal processor preserves the finest details of the recording and keeps perfect coherence between the drivers. Advanced speaker protection continuously monitors their operation, so you can play loud without worry.

DynamEQ and room optimisation

DynamEQ automatically adapts the response to the listening level, so the sound stays balanced even at low volume. In the StreamMagic app you get a 7-band equaliser, ready-made presets (Normal, Movie, Voice) and room optimisation, so you can tailor the sound to where the speakers sit and to your room.

Sound for every occasion

The L/R X tuning combines detailed, open highs with rich, fast bass. They suit focused listening to a whole album, films with your TV and evenings with friends equally well, when you want to turn the volume up without the sound turning harsh.

And because all the amplification is built in, the system stays simple: two speakers, one power cable each, and you are ready.

The built-in StreamMagic platform provides high-resolution streaming over Wi-Fi or Ethernet from Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music and Deezer, plus internet radio, UPnP and Roon Ready. With AirPlay 2 and Google Cast you can send music from a phone or computer and build a multiroom system with other compatible devices, while Bluetooth makes quick playback from friends easy.

For TV and turntable

The HDMI eARC input connects your TV for fuller sound with films and series. The built-in MM phono stage accepts a turntable directly, and there are also analogue RCA, optical, USB-C audio and USB-A media inputs. The two speakers link with a USB-C cable or wirelessly.

Bold design

Designed in London, L/R X has a floating base and subtle LED underlighting with adjustable brightness and colour temperature, or it can be switched off entirely. Control it from the buttons on top, from the app or from the included Bluetooth remote.

In six finishes

L/R X comes in black, white, blue, green, orange and real walnut veneer, so it can blend into your space or become its focal point.

The StreamMagic app for iOS and Android brings sources, volume and all sound settings together in one place.
