Torus tweeter for detail and depth
L/R M uses the 28 mm Torus tweeter, a technology developed by Cambridge Audio itself for greater precision and wider dispersion of high frequencies. The chamber behind the dome is torus-shaped and acts as an internal horn that absorbs the energy radiated backwards. This limits internal reflections and significantly reduces harmonic distortion.
Dual-radius aluminium dome
The dual-radius aluminium dome has about 25% more surface area than a conventional 25 mm tweeter, moving more air for more dynamic treble. Together with the waveguide and phase ring, sound spreads evenly through the room and stays clear even when you are not sitting directly in front of the speakers.
64-bit processing
A 64-bit signal processor preserves the smallest details of the recording and keeps perfect coherence between the drivers. Each speaker has its own 150 W amplification and active crossover, so electronics and drivers work as one tuned whole. The result is a wide, realistic soundstage where the speakers seem to disappear.
Sound that fills the room
The balanced tuning combines clarity in the highs with rich, confident bass. L/R M suits focused listening to a whole album just as well as playlists that carry you through the day, in a living room, bedroom or study.
Powerful bass without a subwoofer
Each speaker has two 10 cm long-throw woofers: one on the front and one discreetly built into the base, improving dispersion and low-frequency response. They work with two side-mounted 12 cm passive radiators, placed opposite each other so their vibrations cancel out and the cabinet stays still.
Big-speaker bass
This arrangement delivers low-end weight normally expected from much larger speakers. Frequency response runs from 40 Hz to 24 kHz (±3 dB), so in most rooms no separate subwoofer is needed. If you want even more, the subwoofer output lets you expand the system to 2.1.
Balanced in any room
Room optimisation tools, DynamEQ and EQ presets (Normal, Movie, Voice) maintain natural balance at any volume. DynamEQ automatically adjusts the response as the volume changes, so the sound stays full even at low levels, whether the speakers are in an open-plan space or a smaller room.
Speakers that need nothing else
Because amplification, DAC, streamer and phono preamp are all inside the speakers, you need no rack of components and no speaker cables. A pair of L/R M is a complete sound system covering music, TV and vinyl.
StreamMagic and full connectivity
L/R M is built on Cambridge Audio’s StreamMagic Gen 4 platform for high-resolution streaming over Wi-Fi or Ethernet: Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music, Deezer, internet radio, UPnP and Roon Ready. Apple devices play via AirPlay 2, any other device via Chromecast or Bluetooth, and the speakers can join a multi-room system through AirPlay 2 or Google Home.

The HDMI eARC input connects your TV for much fuller sound with films and series, while the built-in MM phono stage takes a turntable directly. There is also an analogue RCA input, an optical input, USB-C for a computer and USB-A for files from an external drive.
Designed in London
Designed in London, L/R M has a floating base with subtle LED underlighting that can be adjusted in brightness and colour temperature, or switched off. The two speakers are linked with the supplied 5 m USB-C cable and controlled from the top-panel buttons, the StreamMagic app or the Bluetooth remote.
