NEED HELP?

Our expert advisors can help you.

Evo 300 is the flagship streaming amplifier of the Evo range: 300 watts per channel, the full StreamMagic platform, HDMI eARC and a phono stage in one elegant chassis. Just add speakers.

Key features

  • 300 W per channel, Hypex NCOREx amplification
  • Dual-mono architecture and balanced pre-amplifier
  • ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M DAC
  • Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, internet radio and UPnP
  • AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Roon Ready
  • HDMI eARC, MM phono and USB audio inputs
  • Two speaker zones and subwoofer control from the app
  • 6.35 mm headphone output
  • Customisable side panels

Effortless scale with any speaker

Evo 300 is the flagship of the Evo range, built on Class D amplification using Hypex NCOREx technology, tuned by Cambridge Audio's British engineers to match their own sonic signature. It delivers 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 500 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with a stable power supply and remarkable control even with demanding speakers.

Dual-mono architecture

Each channel has its own amplification circuit and the design is fully balanced, with a high-precision analogue volume control. The result is maximum channel separation: the soundstage opens up in width and depth, instruments are placed precisely and focus holds even in dense arrangements.

Dynamics without effort

Power here is not a number for the spec sheet. Loud passages come through without strain and quiet ones keep detail and texture, because the amplifier never reaches its limits at domestic listening levels. Bass stays tight and controlled, with the drivers stopping exactly when they should.

Bass that fits your room

The subwoofer output lets you add a sub when the room calls for it, with crossover frequency, level and phase set from the StreamMagic app. Low frequencies then integrate smoothly with your speakers instead of overloading the space.

All your music, in one component

Digital playback runs through the StreamMagic app, developed by Cambridge Audio for more than a decade. It gives access to Qobuz with Qobuz Connect support, TIDAL, Spotify Connect and internet radio from around the world, with unified search, favourites and playlists on one screen.

Your own library

With DLNA and UPnP compatibility, Evo 300 reads files shared on your local network from a NAS or computer, and as a Roon Ready device it joins a Roon system directly. Purchased high-resolution files and ripped CDs play as easily as any streaming service.

Wireless, without losing quality

AirPlay 2 and Chromecast built-in stream from almost any app on an iPhone, Android phone, tablet or computer, while Bluetooth aptX HD keeps quality high for sources that are not on the network.

And in other rooms

With AirPlay 2 and Chromecast, Evo 300 groups with other compatible speakers and devices, for the same music in sync throughout the house or different music in each room, controlled from one phone.

Every source, in one box

Connectivity is what makes Evo 300 a complete system. On the digital side there are optical and coaxial inputs and HDMI ARC for the TV, so films, series and concerts run through your hi-fi rather than the television's own speakers.

Reference DAC and computer connection

The ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M converter is known for its precision and handles PCM files up to 32-bit / 768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512. Through the USB-B port, Evo 300 works as an external DAC for Windows and Mac, while the USB-A port plays directly from a memory stick or external drive.

Analogue and flexibility

There is a phono input for a turntable, analogue inputs for every other source and a pre-amp output, so Evo 300 can work with an external power amplifier if you ever want to take the system further. The speaker terminals accept heavy-gauge cable, banana plugs and spades.

Design that changes

The metal chassis keeps the range's solidity, while the side panels swap between wood and black to suit your room. On the front, the 7.8-inch colour display shows artwork and track information.
