Tangent PowerAmpster III

The Tangent PowerAmpster III is an ultra-compact power amplifier capable of delivering up to 2 x 100 W into 4 ohms while occupying minimal space. It provides optimal power for most bookshelf and floorstanding speakers on the market, with the option of operating in stereo or mono mode. Featuring high-quality components, this Tangent power amplifier ensures dynamic, transparent, and detailed sound reproduction across a wide bandwidth. Its RCA and XLR inputs make it easy to connect to any preamplifier.

Power and musicality

Behind its unassuming design, the Tangent PowerAmpster III power amplifier conceals a surprising power reserve. This is achieved through a very generous power supply, ensuring instantaneous response to the dynamic variations of music and film soundtracks. This power supply is paired with a Class D power stage to maximize efficiency. It can thus deliver up to 2 x 100 watts into 4 ohms or be bridged in mono mode, delivering up to 200 W into 8 ohms. This is more than enough to provide perfect power for any pair of bookshelf or floorstanding speakers. The Tangent PowerAmpster III is also suitable for powering a passive subwoofer or a home theater speaker.

RCA and XLR input

The Tangent PowerAmpster III power amplifier is built around a thick metal chassis, ensuring robustness and providing effective protection against electromagnetic interference. On the rear panel, it features an unbalanced RCA input and a balanced XLR input, allowing for easy pairing with any preamplifier, although it naturally performs best with the Tangent PreAmp III. Conveniently, the Tangent PowerAmpster III automatically wakes up from standby mode when it detects a signal on its inputs. A trigger input is also included for further automation of this power-up.

Measuring just 20 cm wide and 6.5 cm high, the Tangent PowerAmpster III retains the iconic miniaturized form factor of the range. The Tangent CD III CD player perpetuates the spirit of the Tangent Ampster range by combining minimalist design, exemplary ergonomics, and exceptional musicality. Successor to the highly acclaimed Tangent CD II , this new model further refines the listening experience with gapless playback, smoother navigation, and a balanced sound reproduction, true to the brand's Scandinavian heritage.

Designed to offer a continuous and natural listening experience, the Tangent CD III CD player introduces gapless playback, eliminating any interruptions between tracks. This advancement guarantees a perfectly smooth transition between songs, preserving artistic coherence and immersion during concerts. The playback mechanism ensures stable and silent playback of all commercially available audio CDs, as well as burned CD-Rs and CD-RWs.

Beneath its compact chassis, the Tangent CD III CD player houses an SC6135B digital-to-analog converter operating at 16-bit/44.1 kHz, ensuring faithful and balanced disc reproduction. A linear frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 80 dB result in clear and dynamic sound. Stereo RCA outputs allow direct connection to an amplifier or preamplifier, while the Toslink digital optical output provides access to an external DAC.
