It retains the core features and performance of the SL-1200MK7 while introducing an exclusive anniversary design. Its Direct Drive system and precise pitch adjustment make it an ideal choice for both professional DJs and demanding vinyl enthusiasts. The turntable supports 33, 45 and 78 rpm records and features an aluminium tonearm and platter.

55th Anniversary Limited Edition

The distinctive character of the Technics SL-1200 MK7 Limited Edition is immediately apparent from its exclusive gold detailing. The anodised S-shaped tonearm and its base, the outer edge of the platter, the strobe markings and selected buttons and controls feature an elegant gold finish. A dedicated slipmat also features the Technics logo in gold. Limited to just 12,000 units worldwide, each turntable features an engraved anniversary badge together with an individual serial number.

The Return of a Classic

The Technics SL-1200 is one of the most recognisable turntable series in audio history. The original SL-1200 was introduced in the early 1970s and quickly became an industry reference, particularly within the professional DJ market. Numerous generations and revisions followed over the decades, with worldwide sales exceeding 3.5 million units.

The platter of the Technics SL-1200 MK7 Limited Edition is made from die-cast aluminium and weighs 1.8 kg. It has been designed to minimise unwanted vibrations and incorporates rubber damping for improved playback stability. The lightweight aluminium tonearm measures 230 mm and uses Technics' classic S-shaped geometry to ensure accurate tracking of the record groove. The tonearm uses a gimbal suspension system in which the horizontal and vertical rotation axes intersect at a single central point. High-precision bearings provide smooth and highly accurate tonearm movement. The turntable rests on four silicone vibration-isolating feet designed to reduce the transmission of external vibrations to the platter and cartridge.

Direct Drive Motor – 33, 45 and 78 rpm

The Technics SL-1200 MK7 Limited Edition uses a Direct Drive system in which the motor directly drives the platter without the need for a belt. Direct Drive technology has been one of Technics' key specialities since the early 1970s. The brushless motor has been engineered to provide highly stable rotation with extremely low vibration, delivering the precision required for both audiophile listening and professional DJ applications. Dedicated controls located next to the main power switch provide direct selection of 33, 45 and 78 rpm playback speeds.

Advanced DJ Functions

The Technics SL-1200 MK7 Limited Edition incorporates several functions specifically developed for professional DJ use. The Reverse Play function allows the platter to rotate backwards. The pitch fader provides adjustment ranges of ±8% and ±16%, together with an x2 function and a Reset button for immediate return to zero pitch. A dedicated position behind the tonearm also allows a spare headshell or cartridge to be kept ready for fast replacement. Additional controls located beneath the platter allow further customisation, including changing the LED colour from blue to red and adjusting the platter's start and brake behaviour.
