Small speaker, a home full of music

The Yamaha WX-021 (known in Europe as MusicCast 20) is a compact wireless speaker built on Yamaha's MusicCast multiroom platform. It plays music over Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth, pairs with other speakers in stereo or as rear surround speakers, and fills any room with Yamaha True Sound.

Big sound from a small speaker

Despite its small size, just 15 × 18.6 × 13 cm, the WX-021 is designed for full, balanced sound throughout the room.

Woofer, tweeter and two passive radiators

A 9 cm woofer with a 25 W amplifier and a 3 cm soft-dome tweeter with a 15 W amplifier deliver clear voices and detailed highs, while two passive radiators reinforce the bass far beyond what you would expect from such a small box.

Elegant design

The clean, rounded body with fabric front suits a living room, kitchen, bedroom or office. Touch controls on top handle volume, playback and favourites, without reaching for your phone every time.

MusicCast multiroom

With Yamaha's MusicCast app, the WX-021 becomes part of a whole-home music system.

Music in every room

Play the same music in every room or different music in each space, together with other MusicCast products: soundbars, receivers, streaming amplifiers and speakers. The app controls everything from your phone or tablet.

Stereo pair and surround

Two WX-021 can form a stereo pair (MusicCast Stereo) for a larger soundstage, while a pair can act as wireless rear speakers for compatible MusicCast receivers or soundbars (MusicCast Surround), with no speaker cables.

Streaming and connectivity

The WX-021 gives access to all your music, however you prefer.

Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth

Over 2.4 / 5 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet it joins your home network for streaming services and Internet Radio, and it supports AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth (SBC, AAC). It plays network files up to FLAC, WAV and AIFF 192 kHz / 24-bit and ALAC 96 kHz / 24-bit.

Alarm and sleep timer

With Alarm, Snooze and Sleep it can wake you with your favourite music or switch itself off at night. Presets recall stations and playlists quickly, and standby consumption is just 0.3 W.
