High sound quality, elegant looks

The Yamaha A-S701 is a Hi-Fi integrated amplifier that combines extremely pure sound, outstanding drive power and an elegant look with an aluminium front panel. It is built on Yamaha's ToP-ART philosophy and offers 100 W per channel, Pure Direct, a phono input for a turntable and digital inputs for a TV or Blu-ray player.

The ideal base for a Hi-Fi system

With eight inputs, a subwoofer output and auto standby, the A-S701 is the right heart for a stereo system that plays music as well as TV sound.

ToP-ART and quality parts

The A-S701 is designed around ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology), Yamaha's philosophy for the purest possible reproduction. The signal follows the shortest possible path from input to output, so no detail is lost.

I/O Direct Symmetrical Design

The symmetrical design from input to output minimises noise and crosstalk between channels, for a clean, stable stereo image. The ART (Anti-Resonance and Tough) Base absorbs chassis vibration and keeps the sound clean.

High-quality components

The custom-made power transformer, 12,000 µF block capacitors and extruded aluminium heat sinks deliver plentiful, stable power: 100 W + 100 W RMS into 8 Ω and up to 160 W + 160 W into 4 Ω, with a damping factor of 240 for fast, controlled bass.

Pure Direct, CD Direct and Loudness

For the moments when you want to hear music exactly as it was recorded, the A-S701 offers Pure Direct mode.

Pure Direct

With one press, the signal bypasses the tone, balance and loudness controls, sending the source straight to the amplifier. The result is greater clarity, lower noise and a more natural sound, especially with acoustic recordings and classical music. In addition, CD Direct Amplification sends the CD input signal straight to the amplifier stage, for even cleaner playback from a CD player or DAC.

Continuous Variable Loudness

The continuously variable loudness control keeps the balance of bass and treble when you listen at low volume, so music stays full without turning it up. Gold-plated speaker terminals and gold-plated RCA sockets ensure a stable, clean connection.

Digital inputs and connectivity

The A-S701 goes beyond a classic analogue amplifier, because it also has digital inputs.

Optical and coaxial input

Connect the TV, a Blu-ray player or a streamer via the optical or coaxial digital input and enjoy their sound through your Hi-Fi speakers, with far better quality than the TV speakers.

Phono input and subwoofer output

The phono input accepts turntables with an MM cartridge, while the subwoofer output lets you add an active subwoofer for deeper bass. In total there are eight inputs and two audio outputs, plus a DC output for controlling other devices and auto standby.
