Each side works as an overdrive, distortion or boost with its own controls, making it ideal for guitarists who want rhythm, lead and boost tones in one pedal, on stage and in the studio.
Two sides, two classic pedals, legendary amp tones
Throne Of Tone is a tribute to not one, but two extremely sought-after overdrive pedals based on a classic amplifier recorded in the late 1960s. Twenty-five years after Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton changed tone chasing forever, an amp-in-a-box pedal set a new standard in transparent, amp-like overdrive. From that original, a modified two-sided boutique OD emerged over a decade later and changed the hierarchy of guitar overdrive for good.
The originals, used by artists like John Mayer, Gary Clark Jr. and John Petrucci, blend into any rig or transform clean tones into completely different stacks. Throne Of Tone offers both in one pedal, with combinations never available before.
Dual voicings, gain and drive modes on each side
Throne Of Tone accurately delivers the unique character of both original pedals, with boutique gain and drive modifications, on each side. The Voicing selector switches between "Blues" (the early classic) and "King" (the boutique favourite). The Gain selector adds the boutique high/low gain mod, while the Mode selector lets each side run as an overdrive, distortion or boost.
Set one side to lower gain for dynamic rhythm playing and the other to a cranked tone for riffs or solos, or engage both for stacked overdrive.
Rig-ready controls
Unique to this pedal, each side has a Presence knob for shaping the upper mids when tones get muddy. The global Voltage Boost doubles the voltage for more headroom, and the FX Order Swap instantly changes the order of the two sides.
A top-mounted send/return jack lets you insert a pedal or a whole chain between the two sides. With JRC4580 and TL072 op-amps and built by Warm Audio in Austin, Texas, Throne Of Tone is a complete overdrive tool for stage and studio.
