The TG Opto is a handmade, fully discrete, mono, double-width 500 Series compressor. Heritage Audio 2264E
The Heritage Audio 2264E compressor limiter is a diode bridge based dynamics module, engineered to be used in the restoration process of vintage 80 Series consoles.
It can also be installed in the Heritage Audio Frame 8 and Rack 2, where there is provision for linking up to 8 units in 2 different buses.
It is fully Class A, including the same output stage found in the HA1073, which reacts in a much nicer way to compression than class A/B amplifiers.
It is completely handmade and wired in the same fashion as the rest of the Heritage Audio 80 Series modules.

Discrete Compressor, Re-Issue. Originally released in the 70's, the API 525 is a "feedback" type compressor, such as the 1176 and 660, etc. An input (threshold) control and output (make-up gain) control are provided. An additional "Ceiling" fine tune function modifies threshold and make-up gain for precise changes in compression without changes in output. A compression/limit switch sets ratio at either 2:1 or 20:1. Attack time is as fast as 15u/s. Four auto release modes are offered via two switches, 0.1s, 0.5s, 1.5s, & 2.0s. A De-Ess function inserts an inverse vocal energy curve filter in the detector for effective sibilance/p-pop reduction. The 525 is an identical re-issue of one of the most popular API products ever. The API 525 is perhaps the most successful solid state feedback compressor in history. It delivers dynamics control behavior unlike VCA "feed forward" compressors so common today. 500 Series compressor with wet/dry, sidechain filter and curve select
The Little Devil Compressor is a discrete, transformer-balanced 500 Series module that combines Wade Goeke’s designs with studio favourites of the past. It draws on Chandler Limited’s LTD-2 and Germanium Compressor, as well as the 2264 and 33609, to create an entirely new compressor.
Discrete transformer sound and handmade construction are at its core. Controls such as wet/dry mix, sidechain filter and curve selection make it extremely flexible, and together with its intense tone they deliver a powerful tool in a small box.
All of Chandler in one module
The Little Devil Compressor doesn’t copy one specific classic. It takes elements from Chandler’s LTD-2 and Germanium Compressor and from the 2264 and 33609, combining them into a new design for 500 Series racks.
Two compression curves
The Curve selector switches between Germ and Zener behaviour. The first follows the character of the Germanium Compressor, the second recalls EMI’s Zener limiters. Combined with the three-position Ratio, it covers everything from gentle control to strong, characterful compression.
Wet/dry and sidechain
The wet/dry mix allows parallel compression inside the unit: squeeze the signal hard and let through as much of the original as you need for natural transients. The 30 to 300 Hz sidechain filter keeps low frequencies from driving the compression, ideal for bass, drums and instrument groups.
Time and level
Attack is continuous and Release has three positions, fast, medium and slow. Input and Output set the drive and output level, and true bypass allows instant comparison. The module starts up without issues in current 500 Series racks.
