Marantz sound for vinyl, digital sources and TV

The Marantz Model 70 is a stereo integrated amplifier delivering 2 x 50 W into 8 Ω (2 x 65 W into 4 Ω), using high-current amplification and Marantz's renowned HDAM-SA3 circuitry for dynamic, detailed and natural sound. It handles analogue and digital sources alike, with a built-in 24-bit/192 kHz DAC, an HDMI ARC input for your TV, an aptX Adaptive Bluetooth receiver and an MM phono stage.

One amplifier for all your music

Turntable, CD player, network player and TV all connect to the same amplifier. The Model 70 combines Marantz's audiophile know-how with features for the way we listen today, carrying the brand's warm, musical signature across every source.

High-current amplification

The Model 70 is built around a Class AB design delivering 2 x 50 W into 8 Ω and 2 x 65 W into 4 Ω. Its linear power supply, with a toroidal transformer and carefully selected components, provides stable current even through the most demanding passages. It drives a wide range of hi-fi speakers with ease, from bookshelf models to compact floorstanders, with control and a smooth delivery across the whole spectrum.

HDAM-SA3 circuitry

Like the best amplifiers in the range, the Model 70 uses Marantz's proprietary HDAM-SA3 (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) circuits. Designed to replace conventional integrated circuits, they offer faster response, lower noise and greater current capability.

The Marantz signature

The result is the signature Marantz sound: warm delivery, a wide soundstage and rich tonal colour. With a 110 dB signal-to-noise ratio on the line inputs, music stands out against a truly silent background.

Measurements that back it up

Frequency response extends from 5 Hz to 100 kHz, total harmonic distortion stays at 0.08% and the damping factor reaches 100, for tight, controlled bass. Source Direct mode bypasses the tone circuits so the signal reaches your speakers as cleanly as possible.

Complete connectivity

The Model 70 has a built-in converter based on an ESS Sabre chip, processing PCM signals up to 24-bit / 192 kHz. One optical and one coaxial input accept a CD player, network player or any other digital source, for precise and transparent playback of high-resolution files.

HDMI ARC for your TV

The HDMI ARC input takes sound straight from a compatible TV, so films and series are heard with the quality of a hi-fi amplifier instead of the screen's own speakers.

Vinyl, subwoofer and headphones

The analogue side includes three RCA inputs and a phono input for turntables with an MM cartridge. A pre out connects an external power amplifier and a subwoofer output makes adding a subwoofer easy. Alongside gold-plated speaker terminals, there is a built-in headphone amplifier for private listening.

Every source in one place

In total, the Model 70 offers three RCA inputs, one MM phono, one optical, one coaxial and one HDMI ARC input, plus a pre out, a subwoofer output and a 6.35 mm headphone output. TV, turntable, CD player and network player connect at the same time, with no extra boxes needed.

Legendary design

Like the rest of the range, the Model 70 is built around a rigid aluminium chassis that reduces mechanical and electrical interference. Its design is inspired by the iconic Marantz components of the 1950s to 1970s, with a front panel featuring small dimples, like a golf ball.

Porthole display and physical controls

On the front, a circular display shows the source playing and the volume. Physical controls quickly select the input and adjust volume and tone, with bass, treble and balance.

High-quality Bluetooth

The aptX, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive Bluetooth receiver takes music from a smartphone, tablet or computer at higher quality than standard Bluetooth. It also sends audio to wireless headphones, with independent volume control. From across the room, it is easily controlled from the HEOS app and the IR remote.

Elegant and complete

Elegant, complete and capable, the Model 70 pairs Marantz's audiophile know-how with features for the way we listen today. High-current amplification, HDAM-SA3, an ESS Sabre DAC, HDMI ARC, aptX Adaptive Bluetooth and an MM phono stage make it ideal for streaming, vinyl and TV sound.
