Dialogue and effects come from where the action is happening on screen. Sound-wave diffraction is almost nil and frequency response stays flat, so the speakers need no equalisation to compensate for the screen. Because the distance from the projector lens to every point of the surface stays essentially the same, the picture is particularly sharp edge to edge and brightness is evenly spread.
