ROSE AIR Lite streaming module
The HiFi Rose RW800 (ROSE AIR Lite) is a compact streaming module that brings the latest streaming features to any hi-fi system. Connect it to a HiFi Rose streamer with a single USB-C cable to expand its capabilities, or use it on its own, straight into an amplifier, active speakers or an external DAC.
A single connection is all it takes to upgrade your system, with versatility and performance well beyond its size.
Expansion for HiFi Rose streamers
In Expansion mode the RW800 connects to a HiFi Rose streamer with a single USB-C cable, with no complicated setup. The streamer itself powers it over USB, so no separate power supply is needed, and the RW800 adds the latest streaming services and protocols to the system.
Synced with the Rose screen
Playback is fully synchronised with the Rose device: album art, track title and playback status appear on the streamer's large screen. Digital audio is transmitted losslessly, up to 32-bit / 384 kHz, to the Rose device's built-in DAC, so its own conversion stage is used to the full.
Every streaming platform
The expansion works with every platform: TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, lossless Spotify Connect up to 24-bit / 44.1 kHz, Google Cast up to 24-bit / 96 kHz, Roon Ready with RAAT transport up to 32-bit / 384 kHz, Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth 5.2.
Compatible models
Expansion mode is supported on the RS201(E), RS250(A), RS150(B), RS520, RS130, RS151 and RS451 streamers. On the RSA720 the connection is made through the USB 3.0 Type-B port, while the USB 3.0 SFP port is not supported. HiFi Rose notes that future devices may be added to the list of compatible models.
A standalone streamer for any system
In Standalone mode the RW800 becomes a complete, self-contained network player. It connects to an amplifier, active speakers or an external DAC of any brand and runs from a USB-C 5 V / 1.5 A power supply. For a complete HiFi Rose system, the manufacturer recommends the RD160 DAC or the RA180 and RA280 amplifiers.
Analogue and digital connections
The RCA analogue output delivers up to 2 Vrms with THD+N below -102 dB, for a direct connection to an amplifier or active speakers. The S/PDIF optical output sends a digital signal up to 192 kHz to an external DAC, while the optical input accepts a digital source up to 192 kHz.
High-resolution specifications
Local files play up to PCM 32-bit / 384 kHz and DSD128. Signal-to-noise ratio reaches 119 dB, dynamic range 120 dB and channel separation 130 dB, with a 10 Hz – 50 kHz (±1 dB) frequency response and THD+N of just 0.0008%.
A stable network connection
For maximum stability there is a 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet port, while the wireless connection uses dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac). Bluetooth 5.2 serves both for quick initial setup from the app and for playback straight from your phone.
Compact design and the ROSE AIR app
Measuring just 11 x 11.55 x 2.7 cm and weighing 245 g, the RW800 fits into any rack or shelf next to the rest of your equipment. The glossy logo on top highlights the HiFi Rose identity, while the indirect LED indicator at the base discreetly shows the device status without distracting you while you listen.
The minimalist interface removes unnecessary complexity and keeps connecting to your existing system simple and clear. Consumption stays below 2.5 W during playback, below 2.0 W when idle and below 1.6 W in network standby, so the RW800 can stay connected and ready to play at all times.
Quick, easy setup
The ROSE AIR app (Android and iOS) detects the device automatically and sets up the Wi-Fi connection over Bluetooth, so the RW800 is ready to play within minutes.
Full control from your phone
The same app controls every playback function, such as play, pause, seek and shuffle, and manages device settings, OTA software updates and factory reset.
