The audiolab 6000N Play is a Streamer device that enables wireless audio playback and is the latest member of the acclaimed audiolab 6000 series. With DTS Play-Fi® technology, music can be streamed over your wireless network in high-resolution format and can easily expandable to a multi-room system if required. You can stream from any source on your wireless network, including smartphones, tablets or PCs as well as a NAS Drive.

The 6000N Play combines the flexibility of the DTS Play-Fi wireless audio platform with the sound expertise of audiolab to deliver an outstanding Wi-Fi streaming solution that is simple to set up and use.

Users can stream from any source on their wireless network—smartphones, tablets and computers, as well as NAS drives and music servers—using the 6000N Play's dual-antenna, dual-band Wi-Fi. It also connects wirelessly to other Play-Fi equipped devices, allowing for a fully synchronized multi-room setup.

It provides access to a plethora of online music services: Spotify, Tidal, HDtracks, Deezer, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Napster, TuneIn, iHeartRadio and SiriusXM, to name a few. Users may choose to browse a radio guide with thousands of stations and podcasts or stream from a DLNA-compatible home media server.

The 6000N Play is hi-res audio enabled, capable of receiving data at up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution over Wi-Fi, far greater than CD quality—without transcoding or sampling.

The 6000N Play incorporates a high-quality DAC (Digital-to-Analogue Converter), using the same ES9018 Saber32 Reference chip found in the highly acclaimed audiolab 6000A integrated amplifier. ESS Technology's 32-bit HyperStream architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, combined with audiolab circuits, offers extremely low noise and high dynamic range. The circuit design also draws inspiration from audiolab's CD 6000CDT transport, incorporating the same isolated power supply with a high-efficiency toroidal transformer for optimal signal purity.

The integration of a DAC stage ensures that the 6000N Play can be used with any sound system - simply connect the analogue RCA outputs to a regular amplifier or a pair of powered speakers. Alternatively, take the digital signal with the optical or coaxial output directly to an external DAC or amplifier with digital inputs, such as the audiolab 6000A. Of course, the 6000A is an ideal partner for the 6000N Play. when these two components are digitally combined, an optical or coaxial cable is used to transmit the audio signal, while a supplied USB control cable allows the 6000A volume to be controlled via the Play-Fi app.

The 6000N Play is configured and operated via the Play-Fi app, available for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire phones and tablets, as well as Apple and Android smartwatches and Windows PCs. It can also stream directly from Spotify via Spotify Connect and is DLNA and UPnP compatible. There are very few buttons on the controller on the device, just the Standby button and a set of six "preset" buttons. These presets work as memories just like those on a DAB or FM tuner, simply select an internet radio station or playlist from a compatible streaming service and save it as a preset for quick access - no app required.

This simplicity of operation, combined with the flexibility of Play-Fi, is the key to the success of the 6000N Play. For some, it's the perfect way to stream music from Spotify, Tidal and Deezer, with all the added features of Play-Fi, including multi-room audio. For others, it's simply the best way to add radio to their HiFi system, with the huge selection of stations available online.
