In the six years since the last NAIT integrated amplifiers were released, our research and development team have worked on a range of amplifier improvements. The result is upgraded power amplifier sections for NAIT XS 3, delivering greater pace and intimacy to their musical delivery – whether it's driving a pair of loudspeakers or your favourite pair of headphones. The NAIT XS 3 has received significant performance upgrades, including a built-in phono stage, making it a perfect partner for turntables, as well as for streamers, CD players, or any other music source people want to enjoy with the signature Naim sound. The NAIT XS 3 offers much of the performance of our reference quality SUPERNAIT 3 in a simpler, slimmer package combining a 70W power amplifier with five analogue inputs plus a phono stage. Its high-performance preamplifier stage is as transparent as you would expect from a Naim Audio amplifier, and it also shares the single-ended class-A headphone output of its larger sibling. The NAIT XS 3 can be upgraded with our external power supplies, power amplifiers and even cabling upgrades to get the best from all sources. The second gain stage transistors have been optimised, so they no longer need to be shielded by a cascode stage transistor. Removing the cascode means less amplifier stabilisation is required: that doubles the slew rate and delivers another uplift in sound quality. The phono circuit topology comprises 3 stages: the gain stage, passive equalisation and final gain and active equalisation. This enables excellent noise performance, extended RIAA equalisation beyond the audio band and great overload headroom. All RIAA equalisation capacitors are ‘through-hole’ mounted film designs, with low microphonic pickup and excellent transient performance. As phono stages are 1000x more sensitive than other inputs, this greatly benefits the sound quality. Hermes Ultima amplifier is an Integrated amplifier with 3 line inputs and a USB DAC input.

It’s design is a double push-pull configuration implementing 4 EL84 power tubes per channel in class AB1 operation self-biasing and dual-mono power supply.

All electronic components are through hole type silver soldered by hand.

Hermes Ultima amplifier utilizes our top of the line 16 layer handmade output transformers with high quality core for superior sound quality.

Hermes Ultima uses the EL84 tube which is widely acknowledged for its full and high quality sound. Arranged in a double push-pull configuration to obtain enough power to drive a wide range of loudspeakers. The self biasing circuit is a nice convenience for the user.

A USB DAC input allows the user to connect Hermes to a Personal Computer.

Gold plated RCA connectors are implemented for the signal inputs/output and WBT-0710 Next Gen binding posts for the loudspeakers.

For the volume control the classic blue Alps is used.

Mundorf Evo silver gold oil signal capacitors and premium quality tubes are used in Hermes Ultima to achive a high-end sound quality. The meticulous PCB design ensures excellent behavior in SNR, distortion and channel separation.

Inner signal wiring with high quality shielded signal cable. Power wiring uses high quality copper cables of more-than-needed AWG gauge, to achieve low impedance power transfer. All power cables are twisted in pairs to minimize the electromagnetic interference.

The handmade 16 layer output transformers with high quality copper wire and core material enable the amplifier to reveal an excellent sound stage and the slightest music details through the entire audio spectrum.

Made by us and tested thoroughly for quality and reliability.

The same applies to the power transformer. The positioning of the transformers is such that minimizes the magnetic coupling between power and output transformers.
