Class AB stereo power amplifier, 2 × 180 W, with analogue VU meters
The Eversolo AMP-F8 is a Class AB stereo power amplifier delivering 2 × 180 W into 8 Ω and 2 × 280 W into 4 Ω, and up to 500 W into 8 Ω when bridged to mono. At low listening levels the output stage runs in Class A.
It was designed as the ideal partner for the Eversolo DMP-A8 Gen 2 and DMP-A8 Master Gen 2, which drive it directly with their R2R preamps, but it works with any preamp or streamer with a variable output.
Class AB with Class A bias
At low levels, where we spend most of our listening time, the AMP-F8 output stage runs in Class A for maximum linearity and sweetness. As power demand rises it moves smoothly into Class AB, keeping heat and consumption in check while providing generous dynamic headroom.
Three MOSFET pairs per channel
The output transistors are carefully selected and matched, for linearity, stability into low speaker impedances and firm woofer control.
Low distortion
With a short signal path and matched components, the AMP-F8 achieves THD+N of 0.003% and a signal-to-noise ratio of 115 dB.
800 W power supply
The 800 W toroidal transformer was designed specifically for the AMP-F8, with low mechanical vibration and large energy reserves for the sudden peaks in music. The linear supply keeps electrical noise down.
DC blocker
A dedicated circuit filters DC from the mains before it reaches the transformer, so it neither hums nor vibrates.
Up to 500 W
2 × 180 W into 8 Ω, up to 2 × 280 W into 4 Ω, and 500 W into 8 Ω bridged. With two AMP-F8 in mono, one per speaker, you can drive even the most demanding floorstanders.
VU meters and connections
The backlit dual analogue VU meter shows each channel's output level on the front panel. The 15.9 kg metal chassis has large side heatsinks for passive cooling.
RCA and XLR
One unbalanced RCA and one balanced XLR input, with a rear selector and a separate stereo / bridged mono switch.
Terminals and trigger
Screw speaker terminals take heavy cable, banana plugs and spades. Trigger in and out switch the amplifier on with your streamer.
