Sound that adapts to you

Everyone hears differently, and PerL starts from exactly that idea. Instead of a single sound profile for everyone, the earbuds learn how your own hearing works and shape the sound around it, so music reaches your ears with the balance the artist had in mind when the recording was made.

Masimo AAT technology

Masimo Adaptive Acoustic Technology builds a personal hearing profile through a short process in the Denon Headphones app. The earbuds play test tones, record how your ears respond and automatically adjust their output across the whole frequency range. The result is sound made for you and nobody else, without manual equaliser tweaking.

The Denon sound signature

On top of that personalised profile sits Denon’s characteristic tonal balance. The sound has been tuned by ear by the company’s Sound Master, aiming for clarity, an open soundstage and natural rendering of voices and instruments, without artificial exaggeration or fatiguing peaks.

Low-distortion drivers

Each earbud uses a 10 mm dynamic driver designed for ultra-low distortion. It covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz with control, so fine details such as breaths, string textures and room ambience stand out even when you listen at low volume.

Immersion Mode for bass

When the music calls for more energy, Immersion Mode strengthens the feel of the low frequencies. You set it in the app and can change it to suit whatever genre you are listening to at the time, from acoustic jazz to electronic music.

An everyday earbud has to shut the world out when you want it to, stay securely in place and last from morning to evening. PerL is designed to come along on your commute, at work and at the gym without compromising the sound and without tiring your ears over long sessions.

Active noise cancelling

Active noise cancelling reduces the drone of public transport, street noise and office chatter. That lets you listen at a lower volume, protect your hearing and enjoy the finer details of the recording, even in a crowded metro carriage.

Social Mode

When you need to hear an airport announcement or talk to someone, Social Mode lets ambient sound through. You can switch modes in an instant, and there is no need to take the earbuds out to communicate or to move safely through traffic on the street.

Secure, comfortable fit

In the box you will find silicone tips in XS, S, M and L, one pair of foam tips and two sizes of Secure-Fit wings, so you can find the combination that suits your ears. Fit detection checks that the earbuds are seated correctly, and the IPX4 rating provides resistance to sweat and rain.

All-day battery

The earbuds deliver up to 6 hours of playback, and the charging case extends the total to up to 18 hours. A 10-minute quick charge gives you around one hour of listening, enough for a commute or a workout. A full charge of the case takes about two hours, so a night on the bedside table is more than sufficient.

Control and everyday use

Good technology is the kind you do not have to think about. PerL switches on as soon as you take it out of the case, connects quickly to your devices and lets you decide exactly how you want to control it, so using it soon becomes second nature, whether you are at home, in the office or on the move.

Customisable touch controls

Each earbud offers four touch commands that you can assign as you like. Play and pause, track skip, volume or switching the noise mode are always one tap away, without taking your phone out of your pocket or bag.

Denon Headphones app

In the app you create your personal hearing profile, choose between noise cancelling and Social Mode, adjust Immersion Mode and assign the touch controls. Every sound and control setting is gathered in one place, in a simple and clear layout, and you can revisit your hearing profile whenever you like.

Wireless connection

The Bluetooth connection supports the aptX, AAC and SBC codecs, giving you the best available quality with both Android phones and iPhone. Quick Switch makes moving from one device to another easy throughout the day, for example from your laptop to your phone.

Automatic operation and calls

Automatic power on and off saves battery without you having to remember anything. Two microphones carry your voice clearly on phone and video calls, and the case charges over a USB-C cable, most likely the same one you already use for your phone.
