Denon DHT-S217

The Denon DHT-S217 is a compact soundbar with Dolby Atmos and two built-in subwoofers. It connects via HDMI eARC or optical and Bluetooth, for clear dialogue and full sound from your TV with no extra boxes.

One bar, complete sound

The DHT-S217 is aimed at anyone who wants a significant upgrade to TV sound from a single device. All the drivers, subwoofers included, live in the same enclosure, so there is no need to find room for an extra box.

Sized for any living room

At 890 mm wide and just 67 mm high, the bar sits in front of medium and large televisions without blocking the screen. Its black finish and clean lines help it blend discreetly with your furniture.

Wall or tabletop

Keyhole slots on the back allow wall mounting below the TV, while it can just as easily sit on a cabinet. That makes it a natural fit for apartments, bedrooms and smaller rooms as well as the main living space.

Bass without an external subwoofer

Two built-in subwoofers face downwards and use the surface of the furniture or wall to reinforce low frequencies. The result is full-bodied sound from a device that stays simple to install and leaves the room uncluttered.

One-cable connection

A single HDMI connection to the TV is all you need to get started. The bar picks up the signal, responds to the TV remote and is ready for films and series within minutes of unboxing.

Dolby Atmos from six drivers

Despite its compact size, the DHT-S217 uses six drivers in a 2.1 arrangement, so each frequency range has its own dedicated driver and the sound stays clean at any volume.

Three-dimensional sound with Dolby Atmos

The bar decodes Dolby Atmos and creates a more spacious, three-dimensional sound image without additional height speakers. Its processing also brings a sense of surround to older content that was never encoded in Atmos.

Full support for Dolby formats

Alongside Dolby Atmos, it supports Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital and Linear PCM. Films from streaming services, Blu-ray or a games console are played back in the format they were produced in.

Tweeters and midrange for clear voices

Two 25 mm tweeters handle the high frequencies, while two 90 x 40 mm racetrack midrange drivers reproduce voices and instruments with body and clarity, so dialogue sounds natural and remains intelligible even at modest listening levels.

Built-in 75 mm subwoofers

Two downward-firing 75 mm drivers add the depth that TV speakers lack. For even more impact, a subwoofer output allows an external subwoofer to be added later on.

The bar's sound has been voiced by Denon's engineers for a natural balance between voices, music and effects, so it sounds right from the first moment without complicated adjustments.

HDMI eARC with 4K pass-through

The HDMI eARC output carries high-resolution audio from the TV, while an additional HDMI input with 4K Ultra HD pass-through accepts a console, player or set-top box directly, without using up a port on the TV.

Optical, analogue and Bluetooth

The optical digital input and analogue input serve older TVs and other sources. Via Bluetooth, the bar becomes a music speaker for your phone or tablet with no extra set-up.

Dialogue enhancement in three levels

The Denon Dialog Enhancer makes voices clearer in three steps, which is particularly helpful for news, documentaries and films with a loud score or busy effects.

Pure Audio for music

Pure Audio mode bypasses surround processing so music is reproduced more cleanly and directly, as it was recorded. The other sound modes tailor the presentation to the type of content.

One remote for everything

The bar can be operated from its own buttons, its own remote or your TV remote, thanks to its remote-learning function. Auto power-off helps avoid unnecessary energy use, and standby consumption stays low whenever the TV is switched off.
