Mono power amplifier 220 W with High Bias Class A
The Advance Paris X-A220 EVO is a monophonic power amplifier delivering 220 W into 8 Ω (350 W into 4 Ω). A pair of X-A220 EVO with the X-P700 preamplifier forms an extremely musical hi-fi system.
Construction
Impeccably finished steel chassis with methacrylate front and a large VU meter. The interior is compartmentalised by function, with quality components on separate boards.
Supply and power stage
A 700 VA toroidal transformer, four 10,000 µF / 80 V capacitors and a triple push-pull of NJW0281G / NJW0302G transistors deliver up to 220 W in Class AB.
High Bias
With High Bias engaged the amplifier runs in Class A on the first watt, then switches automatically to Class AB. Trigger sockets switch it on together with the preamplifier.
