Denon DCD-600NE Silver

This CD player is the entry point to Denon's hi-fi world. Despite its place in the range, it is designed with the same philosophy that guides the company's more expensive models: a clean signal path, vibration control and sound with naturalness and balance, free of artificial exaggeration.

Direct Mechanical Ground

The mechanism and heavier components are placed near the centre of the unit, on a metal chassis. Vibration is thus reduced and disc reading becomes more stable, benefiting sound clarity.

Short signal paths

Denon has designed the circuits with signal paths as short as possible, reducing interference between circuits and between the two channels. The result is heard as a clean, well-organised stereo image.

Separate analogue and digital power

Separate rectifier circuits feed the analogue and digital sections, so noise from the digital side does not affect the signal reaching your amplifier.

Elegant, compact form

With a metal front panel, dimensions of 434 x 107 x 273 mm and a weight of around 4 kg, it has the classic width of hi-fi components and fits easily on any cabinet or shelf, without needing special space.

A partner for the PMA-600NE

It was designed as a pair with the PMA-600NE amplifier, with which it forms a complete, affordable stereo system with a shared look and a common remote.

AL32 processing and conversion

In the digital section, Denon applies technologies developed for its higher models. The aim is to reproduce every CD with more detail and a more natural flow than you would expect in this category.

AL32 Processing

Denon's proprietary technology analyses the digital data and, through interpolation, reconstructs the waveform closer to the original analogue signal. Low-level detail is revealed and the music gains a more natural flow.

PCM5142 DAC

Conversion is handled by the Burr-Brown PCM5142 chip, capable of 192 kHz/32-bit, which delivers a clean, balanced image with good control across the range. Its analogue output stage delivers a 2 Vrms signal, ready to drive any amplifier directly.

DAC master clock

The master clock synchronises the whole digital circuit based on the DAC, reducing jitter for steadier focus and cleaner high frequencies. It is a solution usually found in more expensive units, and here it makes an audible difference to image stability.

Pure Direct mode

Pure Direct switches off the digital output and the display, reducing interference so the analogue signal reaches the amplifier as cleanly as possible.

Performance

According to the manufacturer, the signal-to-noise ratio reaches 110 dB and the dynamic range 100 dB, with total harmonic distortion of 0.003%. The player has received the VGP 2020 Summer Pure Audio Gold Award.

Simple connection and everyday use

The player is designed to slot easily into any system and to be used without complication. Everything you need to enjoy your disc collection is at your disposal from day one.

CD and CD-R/RW discs

It plays commercial audio CDs, as well as CD-R/RW discs with MP3 and WMA files, showing ID3 and WMA information on the display. You can thus enjoy your own compilations burned to disc as well as commercial albums.

Connections

It offers a stereo RCA analogue output with gold-plated terminals for connection to any amplifier, plus an optical digital output for an external DAC or digital amplifier. Remote Control Bus ports allow unified control with other Denon components.

Playback features

Programme, repeat and random play let you enjoy your albums your way, while the display brightness can be dimmed or switched off entirely for listening in low light or in a cinema-like setting.

Energy saving

Auto power off and low consumption, around 13 W in operation and 0.3 W in standby, make the player economical in everyday use, with no need to remember to switch it off.

Full remote control

The supplied remote covers all key functions from the listening position, so you can enjoy your music without getting up. Through its system function, it also controls the PMA-600NE amplifier.
