Naim NAIT XS 3

In the six years since the last NAIT integrated amplifiers were released, our research and development team have worked on a range of amplifier improvements. The result is upgraded power amplifier sections for NAIT XS 3, delivering greater pace and intimacy to their musical delivery – whether it's driving a pair of loudspeakers or your favourite pair of headphones. The NAIT XS 3 has received significant performance upgrades, including a built-in phono stage, making it a perfect partner for turntables, as well as for streamers, CD players, or any other music source people want to enjoy with the signature Naim sound. The NAIT XS 3 offers much of the performance of our reference quality SUPERNAIT 3 in a simpler, slimmer package combining a 70W power amplifier with five analogue inputs plus a phono stage. Its high-performance preamplifier stage is as transparent as you would expect from a Naim Audio amplifier, and it also shares the single-ended class-A headphone output of its larger sibling. The NAIT XS 3 can be upgraded with our external power supplies, power amplifiers and even cabling upgrades to get the best from all sources. The second gain stage transistors have been optimised, so they no longer need to be shielded by a cascode stage transistor. Removing the cascode means less amplifier stabilisation is required: that doubles the slew rate and delivers another uplift in sound quality. The phono circuit topology comprises 3 stages: the gain stage, passive equalisation and final gain and active equalisation. This enables excellent noise performance, extended RIAA equalisation beyond the audio band and great overload headroom. All RIAA equalisation capacitors are ‘through-hole’ mounted film designs, with low microphonic pickup and excellent transient performance. As phono stages are 1000x more sensitive than other inputs, this greatly benefits the sound quality. Naim Nait 5si

The NAIT 5si is our 60W per channel introduction to high-performance integrated amplification. Another Naim Audio amplifier that can claim a common heritage with our classic NAIT model, the NAIT 5si will get straight to the heart of your music. It engages even the most complex rhythms and demanding dynamics with all the grip and authority you would expect from us. Its clever AV bypass mode, which facilitates an easy co-existence of otherwise distinct AV and hi-fi systems, simply adds to its appeal. At Musical Fidelity we think of the M6si as being a destination product. The M6si offers such excellent performance, facilities and power that unless you are seeking the most exotic high-end sound quality you would never need another amplifier. Achilles Ultima is a power amplifier in monoblock configuration.

It’s design is a class A 300B triode amplifier with mu-stage driving circuit.

All electronic components are through hole type silver soldered by hand.

Achilles Ultima utilizes our top of the line 16 layer handmade output transformers with high quality core for superior sound quality.

The 8W of power per channel of Achilles requires high sensitivity loudspeakers to enjoy your music. The triode class A configuration of the 300B with the high linearity of the preamplification stage offer an unsurpassed audio experience to every audiophile.

Gold plated RCA connectors are implemented for the signal input and WBT-710 Next Gen binding posts for the loudspeakers.

Carefully selected values and types of the electronic components contribute to the reliable circuits operation and the high sound quality of the amplifier. Premium quality oil capacitors (Mundorf Supreme Silver Gold Oil – Rike Ausdio QCap4 Copper Oil) on the signal path and premium quality tubes are used in Achilles Ultima.

The meticulous PCB design ensures excellent behavior in SNR and distortion.

Inner signal wiring with high quality shielded signal cable. Power wiring uses high quality copper cables of more-than-needed AWG gauge, to achieve low impedance power transfer. All power cables are twisted in pairs to minimize the electromagnetic interference.

The handmade 16 layer output transformers with high quality copper wire and core material enable the amplifier to reveal an excellent sound stage and the slightest music details through the entire audio spectrum to give you a unique audio experience.

The same applies to the power transformer. The positioning of the transformers is such that minimizes the magnetic coupling between power and output transformers.
