The remote includes intelligent dimming and muting functions. The 'DIM' button toggles the DAC between two independent volume control settings. Both of these volume settings can be adjusted using the 'Volume' up and down buttons. The 'DIM' feature is ideal for HDTV users, as it allows you to set your preferred 'DIM' level for commercials, etc. The 'MUTE' button fades down the volume to the 'DIM' level before muting and smoothly raises the volume to the normal level after unmuting. The remote has exceptional range, making it exceptionally easy to use. In most cases it is not necessary to aim the remote at the DAC. Separate 'ON' and 'OFF buttons allow unambiguous programming of universal remote systems. Dedicated input select buttons allow quick access to input sources. Includes two AAA batteries. Note: This unit is compatible with early DAC1 HDR converters that shipped with a plastic remote, but the dedicated input select buttons will not work with these early units.
A NEW REFERENCE - GOING BEYOND THE LEGENDARY DAC1 AND DAC2 The DAC3 is Benchmark's newest 2-channel D/A converter featuring the new ESS Technologies ES9028PRO converter chip. The DAC3 converter has lower THD and THD+N noise than Benchmark's DAC2 converter. Benchmark's DAC1 and DAC2 D/A converter families have been the reference to which other converters have been compared. It is rare to find a converter review that does not draw comparisons to the DAC1 or the DAC2. Benchmark converters are in daily use at many of the world's finest recording studios and mastering rooms. Benchmark converters are also enjoyed by thousands of audiophiles. Benchmark has raised the bar again ... the DAC3 defines a new reference. REFERENCE PERFORMANCE The DAC3 delivers outstanding musical detail and precise stereo imaging. It employs an advanced high-headroom digital filter design, and a high-sample-rate Asynchronous USB Audio interface. All inputs are fully isolated from interface jitter by Benchmark's new UltraLock3™ jitter attenuation system. Internal digital processing and conversion is 32-bits, and this processing includes 3.5 dB of headroom above 0 dBFS. This headroom prevents the DSP overloads that commonly occur in other D/A converters. Four balanced 32-bit D/A converters are summed together to create each balanced analog output. This 4:1 summation provides a 6 dB noise reduction, and gives the DAC3 industry-leading performance. DAC3 VS. DAC2 The DAC3builds upon Benchmark’s highly successful DAC2 product family. The DAC3 maintains the familiar DAC2 form factor and feature set, but adds the higher performance available from the new ES9028PRO D/A converter. The DAC3 offers the following improvements over the DAC2: Active 2nd Harmonic Compensation Active 3rd Harmonic Compensation Lower THD+N Lower passband ripple Improved frequency response Faster PLL lock times Faster switching between input signals DAC3 VS. DAC1 The DAC3 and DAC2 added these features that were not found on the DAC1: Asynchronous 192kHz USB Audio 2.0 32-bit D/A conversion system Word Length Display Sample Rate Display Polarity Control Direct DSD D/A Conversion -20 dB DIM Bi-Directional 12V Trigger Power Switch with Auto-On Function Home Theater Bypass Digital Pass-Through High-Headroom DSP Dual-Domain Hybrid Gain Control Additional I/O NATIVE DSD CONVERSION All digital inputs on the DAC3 support native 192 kHz PCM or DSD64 conversion. From any input, DSD is transported with bit accuracy over DoP 1.1. DSD and PCM are both natively converted to analog. There are no DSD to PCM or PCM to DSD conversions to compromise the quality of the music. The DAC3 conversion system seamlessly switches between native PCM and native DSD conversion. DSD over DoP 1.1 is supported by many media players, and DSD downloads are now available from several sources. DIRECT CONNECTIVITY TO POWER AMPLIFIERS Benchmark DAC1, DAC2, and DAC3 converters are designed to directly drive power amplifiers and speakers. Benchmark converters feature adjustable low-impedance passive attenuators at the XLR outputs that can be used to optimize the interface to the power amplifier (or powered monitor). This unique Benchmark feature optimizes the gain staging between the DAC and the power amplifier. Proper gain staging cannot be overemphasised. When audio stages are properly matched, each component in the audio chain is able to operate at its optimum signal level, and the system performance is significantly improved. SONICALLY-NEUTRAL STUDIO MONITORING All Benchmark converters are designed for maximum transparency. This transparency is absolutely essential in the studio monitoring chain. For this reason, DAC3 converters are ideal for critical reference-quality professional systems. Unlike many competing products, the DAC3 is not designed to add "euphonic" coloration to the audio. Instead it is designed to be as uncolored and natural as possible. STEP INTO THE STUDIO When Benchmark's professional converters are used in hi-fi applications, studio-quality sound can be enjoyed in a home environment. Enjoy pure music without any coloration from the electronics. Hear the music exactly the way it was heard in the studio, and exactly the way the artists intended. Discover the natural, uncolored, analog sound of the DAC3. SIT IN THE PERFORMANCE SPACE Transparent sound can go beyond replicating the studio experience. Recordings that have been produced with a natural and unprocessed sound can transport you to the performance space. But, this can only happen when the entire playback chain is selected for maximum transparency. This experience of "being there" cannot be created by systems that are designed to add "warmth" or "euphonic color" to the music. Mastering D/A Converter Mercury is the first mastering DA-converter in 120V technology. It offers seven digital stereo input sources, all of which can be synchronized with each other or with a word clock. The additional variable output qualifies Mercury as a monitor controller. Seven Digital Sources Mercury provides connections for a total of seven digital stereo input sources. For each digital source there is a dedicated and illuminated tactile switch for quick selection and quick comparison. The detected sample rate is shown in the display. One USB input and two coaxial, two optical and two AES/EBU inputs are available. AES input 2 also supports Dual-Wire (DW) mode. Sync The display shows the synchronization status and the detected sampling rate. Any source except USB can be synchronized to another source or to an external Word Clock. If the sync “Source” is selected in the display, each source uses its own sync code embedded in the signal. O dBfs Holding the Sync button for more than two seconds Mercury will change to the 0dBfs display. Mercury offers all reference levels in dBu corresponding to a 0 dBfs (full scale) digital signal: +14, +15, +16, +17, +18, +20, +22 and +24 dBu Fix & Var The FIX OUT is an analog balanced stereo output which can be calibrated to all common reference levels (see 0 dBfs). Mercury offers a variable analog balanced stereo output. This output provides the same signal as the FIX OUT, but the level is continuously adjustable. AUDIO FORMATS CALLIA supports linear PCM in 2’s complement binary coding and, using the “DSD over PCM” (DOP) protocol, DSD at the original bit-rate (DSD64) and also at 2 x the original rate (DSD128). DSD Files encoded as “DOP” may be played with both ASIO and WDM drivers. Your computer, tablet or transport will commonly decode formats such as mp3 to PCM prior to transmission to the sound card, so these formats will typically be supported on your device in the same manner as they would be with another sound card. On the S/P-DIF inputs, DOP can also be used, but only at the original DSD bit rate (DSD64) as these connections do not have enough bandwidth for DSD128. The ASIO native DSD format is not currently supported. Dangerous has been building award-winning, standard-setting converters since 2002 when the Dangerous Monitor’s onboard digital-to-analog converter (DAC) swiftly became the industry reference. We’ve been asked over the years to build a stand alone DAC, and they’re finally here in the Convert series. Eager to embrace the opportunity to develop a new and better DAC, we designed the Convert series converters from the ground up, utilizing cutting-edge digital technology coupled to a Chris Muth designed analog circuit that delivers our signature sound: open, articulate and powerful from top to bottom. Loaded with innovative and useful features accessed from an intuitive front panel, the Convert-2 tops an elite class of dedicated stereo digital-to-analog converters in both sound and ease of use. The Convert-2 goes beyond transparency – you won't just hear everything, you’ll hear it beautifully.Χαρακτηριστικά:Signal to Noise Ratio A-weighted, 20Hz to 20KHz: < 114dBSignal to Noise Ratio unweighted, 20Hz to 20KHz: < 113dBDynamic Range A-weighted, 20Hz to 20KHz: < 114dBDynamic Range unweighted, 20Hz to 20KHz: < 113dBJitter: 16ps (100Hz to 40KHz), 18ps (100Hz to 1MHz)Crosstalk rejection: > 114dBu 1kHzReplacement Fuses: USA 2 amp slo-blow for 120V Europe 1 amp slo-blow for 240VTHD+N:THD+N, 1kHz, unweighted, 20Hz to 20kHz, +4dBu out: < 94.5dB (0.00188%)THD+N, 1kHz, unweighted, 20Hz to 20kHz, +22dBu out: < 106.5dB (0.00048%)Frequency Response 96KHz sample rate:DC to 20KHz: +0, -0.25dBDC to 30KHz: +0, -0.5dBDC to 40KHz: +0, -1.0dB
If you thought analog-to-digital converter innovation had taken a snooze, Dangerous Music is about to wake you up with five game-changing innovations. Packed into a single rack space with our next-generation conversion for the ultimate in musicality and transparency, the CONVERT-AD+ is the most advanced stereo analog-to-digital converter on the market. The CONVERT-AD+ has no fewer than five—five!—features previously never seen on an analog-to-digital converter before. Smart, useful, well-executed innovations put Dangerous Music on the map, and we continue that tradition into the 21st century with the CONVERT-AD+.Simple, elegant, intelligent. With the push of a button, you can switch between any two balanced line input sources. With zero fuss, you can instantly compare different mastering chains, test your mix against a reference, or to switch between recording and mixing mode—or use the inputs in any configuration you dream up. From the largest mix rooms, to elite mastering suites, to your home studio, the switchable inputs on the CONVERT-AD+ is about to make everyone’s life a lot easier.Do you dig pushing the A/D beyond 0 dBFS, into clipping, for specific sonics? Clip Guard will turn off the red light LED at your destination (i.e. DAW). Red indicates clipping on most meters, in actuality, the over indicator in the AD+ turns from green to yellow. Now “Mastered for iTunes” or the CD pressing plant will not reject your opus, since these red light overs will not appear. This is not a limiter. If you can hear clipping and engage clip guard, it will sound identical. It simply disables the clip LED in your DAW or destination device, but you will still be audibly clipping.Previously an oxymoron, musical transparency makes perfect sense now that Dangerous Music has pushed its products to the bleeding edge of today’s technology. We deliver an open, full-bodied sound free of unwanted artifacts (transparency) with a bold and big three-dimensional sound (musicality). The result is sound that you can trust and love.Among those who truly understand this hotly debated area of audio technology, the mantra with digital is implementation, implementation, implementation. How components are selected, tweaked and assembled according to a specific design, and then tuned for superior performance within that plan, is what sets a converter apart – for better or worse. The Dangerous Music CONVERT-AD+ has been developed by a team of experts with deep, up-to-the-minute knowledge of the best digital and analog converter technology available today. Our implementation has even managed to get the clock working better than it’s stated specs.JET is a patented clocking technology that Dangerous Music employs in order to reduce jitter to the point where it simply isn’t a factor impacting the sound of our converters. Whenever zeros and ones are flying by at incredible speeds, a solid clock and balanced data stream management system is of the utmost importance to articulate, musical, 3D impact. Do not shy away from using the CONVERT-AD+ as your studio’s master clock, a choice more and more engineers are making since becoming “converts.”Χαρακτηριστικά:Selectable Calibration Level cycles through three calibration levels for compatibility with other devicesToggle between two discrete, selectable stereo inputs with two switchable stereo input pathsClip Guard will turn off the red light LED at your destination (i.e. DAW)Premium custom crafted digital meter with Normal and Peak Hold modes provides precise visual feedbackZoom view lets you view only the top 10dB of your signal level, for a finer, magnified resolutionWord Clock with three Modes: Internal, External and MasterX-FORMER insert button engages some of Chris Muth’s sonic wizardry via a pair of customized HAMMOND™ transformersEMPHASIS shelving EQ/Compressor induces 2nd order harmonic distortion to blend in a bit of mid warmth and sparkleUSB connection for Mac/PC
Το conversion είναι από τα πιο σημαντικά μέρη μιας ηχητικής αλυσίδας και το Μ1 είναι φτιαγμένο για να αποκαλύπτει την αλήθεια.Ψηφιακές είσοδοι:Connectors: XLR: AES/EBU, BNC: SPDIF/Clock, RCA: SPDIFSample Rates AES In: 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, 192 kHzFrequency Response Dig I/O: DC to 24kHz @ 48kHz, DC to 96kHz @ 192kHzBalanced αναλογικές έξοδοι: Connectors: XLR balancedΕμπέδηση: 40 OhmΜέγιστη στάθμη εξόδου: +22dbmΕλάχιστη στάθμη εξόδου: +8dbmD/A: 24 bit delta sigma 8x oversamplingΑπόκριση συχνότητας στα 44.1k: 10Hz - 20kHz +0dB, -.2dBΔυναμικό εύρος: >120dB A-WeightedTHD+N @ 1k: .0006% @ 0dbFS / .0004% @ -30dbFSUnbalanced αναλογικές έξοδοι Connectors: RCAΕμπέδηση: 40 OhmΣτάθμη εξόδου: +8dbm (2V RMS)D/A: 24 bit delta sigma 8x oversamplingΔυναμικό εύρος: >120dB A-WeightedTHD+N @ 1k: .0006% @ 0dbFS / .0004% @ -30dbFS

Το ADC2 είναι ο διάδοχος του διάσημου δικάναλου A/D μετατροπέα ADC1-MK2. Το ADC2 χρησιμοποιεί state of the art A/D chip με την αποδεδειγμένη τεχνική συνδεσμολογίας του Weiss που μειώνει τις ατέλειες των μετατροπέων.

No menus, no cryptic multi-finger combinations to remember – just clearly labeled single-function buttons.With industry-standard reference levels of -14, -16 and -18dBFS, you can recalibrate the Convert-8 with the push of a button. While many professional converters are only aligned at the factory, the Convert lets you move flexibly between different reference levels on the fly. Anyone who’s ever fumbled around behind a rack with a “tweeker tool” while a second person watches an external meter knows the special value of our front-panel calibration buttons, especially when there’s eight channels or more!Χαρακτηριστικά:Signal to Noise Ratio A-weighted, 20Hz to 20KHz: < 114dBSignal to Noise Ratio unweighted, 20Hz to 20KHz: < 113dBDynamic Range A-weighted, 20Hz to 20KHz: < 114dBDynamic Range unweighted, 20Hz to 20KHz: < 113dBJitter: 16ps (100Hz to 40KHz), 18ps (100Hz to 1MHz)Crosstalk rejection: > 114dBu 1kHzReplacement Fuses: USA 2 amp slo-blow for 120V Europe 1 amp slo-blow for 240VTHD+N:THD+N, 1kHz, unweighted, 20Hz to 20kHz, +4dBu out: < 94.5dB (0.00188%)THD+N, 1kHz, unweighted, 20Hz to 20kHz, +22dBu out: < 106.5dB (0.00048%)Frequency Response 96KHz sample rate:DC to 20KHz: +0, -0.25dBDC to 30KHz: +0, -0.5dBDC to 40KHz: +0, -1.0dB
