Musical Fidelity has always been driven by the vision to create musically engaging audio products which can hold this standard of fidelity for many generations to come. Many MF classics are still in the hands of their proud owners and have proven the success of our design philosophy.Streaming in Musical Fidelity TraditionThe MX-Stream is developed with the same goal in mind as everything else at Musical Fidelity. Technically correct design that not only measures like a dream but also sounds like it. In order for it to be true to the original Musical Fidelity spirit it has to have our warm yet transparent and incredibly detailed signature sound and not just be technical wizardry for the sake of clean technical measurements. We have to hear it, we have to feel it, and we have to be moved by it.There are audio products of the past that did not necessarily measure so well, but people still grew to love them. This can also be done with close to perfect technical specifications and the same dedication to the actual perceivable sound qualities. And Musical Fidelity have done exactly this – always. As a result, these pieces of audio gear are elevated to the highest levels and become the true entries into affordable, no nonsense high-end. The MX-Stream is yet another prime example in our long-lasting design philosophy.High resolution network bridgeNetwork-enables and compatible with any modern DAC with USB inputCompletely optimised for bit-perfect audio:Audiophile playback softwareLow Noise regulation and detox sectionUSB & Wifi low phase noise clock sectionClock synchronised, phase interleaved, capacitor multiplier pre regulatorsCD ripping (requires external USB CD drive)Controllable via smart devices and PC/LaptopOverview and Hardware DesignOur MX-Stream is a universal, transport-only network device that can take any online or network streaming service to your integrated amplifier or DAC. All you need is an existing USB Class 2.0 Audio input. The MX-Stream’s digital audio circuitry is a complete custom design from scratch. A huge part inside the chassis is dedicated to the extensive power supply section. We have PSUs and high-end voltage stabilization components for all the different PCB units. We have advanced re-clocking – even the main CPU is operated by an audio optimized clock, which is completely unheard in typical streaming solutions, as they typically run with standard CPU clocks like those in regular computers. Every incoming digital signal is cleaned up from the very beginning. All audio files that come in and out, are the best they can be by eliminating all unwanted noise that can be found in common streaming solutions. With an optimized software, we were able to push this high-tech hardware design to its absolute limits. All of this resulted in the first near-zero jitter streamer we have ever seen.Bit-perfect and Open Software DesignIts design makes it future proof by keeping the architecture open. In 10 years’ time, your MX- Stream will be as relevant as today because it can run any open source software that you are willing and able to throw at it. It will use the same revelatory hardware design and continue to be the perfect streaming transport. Of course, for now you can just unpack the unit and set it up and it will be perfectly plug&play ready and you can immediately stream ahead. The on-board operating system and playback software - by default - is set up to enable you 1:1 bit-perfect digital audio transfers to your USB DAC of choice right from the start. You do not need to worry about anything, we have done all the engineering and configuration for you. You are free to enjoy the Musical Fidelity signature sound without in-depth knowledge of digital audio technology. However, all the expert-users will find advanced options available to tailor the experience to their exact specifications and gain complete and transparent control of what their system is doing. Truly accessible high-end at your fingertips.Flexibility and Control OptionsThe MX-Stream can be controlled via mobile App, in any web-browser and you can connect HDMI- and touchscreens for a full, haptic touch screen experience. A full Roon-Ready certification, support for all lossless high-resolution streaming services that are available right now and hi-res formats (up to 32bit/384kHz and DSD256) and standard network features like NAS support, USB-hard drive support, UPNP/DLNA, Bluetooth, Shareport (for iOS-devices), web-radio, CD-ripping with automated tagging and automatic music library indexing bring unparalleled versatility to the table.Streaming ServicesHigh resolution network bridgeSpotify, Tidal, Qobuz, HIGHRESAUDIO, TuneInFully Roon Ready and certifiedShareport(Airplay), UPNP/DLNA, BluetoothUSB 2.0 USB drives, NAS drivesThe Perfect Streaming CompanionAs a standalone device, the MX-Stream is the perfect add-on for any integrated amplifier or DAC with USB B input. Not only is the technology inside the MX-Stream complete cutting-edge high-end, every analog circuit in integrated analog amps displays increased performance, when digital circuits and power supplies are kept separate from the analog circuitry. By squeezing in a lot of digital circuits, additional high frequency distortion across the entire system can be observed. Coming from the other direction, huge power supplies for pre and power amps with lots of magnetic radiation impact digital circuit performance negatively. By keeping streaming and amplification separate we can achieve our true high-end sound vision to greater effect and at a more affordable cost, while also guaranteeing the longest lifetime of our amplifiers and streamers.

DAVE is the most advanced DAC we have ever made. It features the very best conversion technology available, using proprietary techniques never seen before, making DAVE the most advanced DAC/preamp amplifier in the world. DAVE stands for ‘Digital to Analogue Veritas in Extremis’, a moniker that best reflects the product’s capability; a device so advanced and with so few compromises, that it is absolutely truthful in the extreme — a standard that all other DACs on the market simply cannot hope to match. The DAC, which is also a reference-level headphone amplifier and ‘digital preamp’, distils twenty years of Chord research, development and advanced engineering into one device. At its heart lies a new version of the advanced Spartan 6 Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) with 1,000x the processing power of the traditional mass-produced chip DAC. DAVE’s FPGA is loaded with over a million lines of code to confront complex timing issues head-on, with speed and precision. The FPGA’s extraordinary capability enables a number of key sonic benefits, including significantly improved timing and the best noise-shaper performance of any known DAC. DAVE’s technology delivers music with unmatched reality and musicality, with an unrivalled timing response. The device’s lossless digital volume control outputs the signal direct to your power amplifier for the purest experience. DAVE has a full-sized LCD display, showing input, sample frequency, volume and set-up configurations options, within Chord’s famous porthole design. On its fascia, DAVE also features a rotary encoder with a large stainless steel controller and ball buttons, enabling direct interactivity in addition to the supplied remote control.

The Young MkIV gives you total control of the music flowing from your sources to the amplifier and then to the speakers. With a wealth of input channels and extensive control options, you have always full command on your audio system, with the greatest confidence that the quality of the original music material is delivered to the speakers without any detriment. Whether your source is a computer, a smartphone, a DVD player or a turntable, the Young MkIV delivers a crisp and alive analog sound at its outputs, to drive any amplifier at best. You control it by the front panel encoder, using the remote control or by your Android smartphone via the same wireless connection which allows you to stream audio. Streaming lovers will enjoy the high quality ensured by MQA©, while smartphone users will take advantage of aptX. M2Tech has adopted MQA to support master quality playback and streaming. MQA is an innovative encoding algorithm that captures the original master sound quality; ‘folds’ the file into a smaller size for easy streaming or download; and authenticates the file when it plays back on an MQA-enabled device. M2Tech recognizes the sonic and technical advantages of MQA, therefore all M2Tech DAC products will include MQA in their format decoding pool. Moving to a separate pre-amplifier and power amplifier offers another level of refinement to enthusiasts looking to upgrade from an integrated amplifier, or those looking to build a reference-grade system. A two-box set up enables the pre and power amplifiers to be run by separate power supplies resulting in a cleaner signal as the inductive effects of the large currents in the power amplifier are isolated from the sensitive components of the pre-amplifier. The Pre2 DAC - Philosophy  The Pre2 DAC separates the pre amp into its own chassis and provides a dedicated power supply which means the pre amp can resolve more detail. Complete with a built-in DAC, the pre amp is compatible with a very wide range of sources such as CD players, streamers or your TV digital audio out. The Pre2 DAC offers a sonic step up in performance from our integrated amplifiers. This is achieved because the pre amplifier circuitry has its own power supply. The internal power supply provides isolation from the demands of other system elements, making available an additional level of dynamics and resolution. The digital section also sounds better for the same reasons, especially when used with the optional Qx card, the audio quality rises further still. If a PSX R2 is connected, owners will hear a large jump in performance as the PSX R2 feeds the pre amp with a highly regulated and super smooth DC feed. The sonic uplift from the PSX R2 means the close tolerance components in the pre amp can be fully appreciated as they now benefit from the smoother supply. The Pre2 DAC includes a carefully designed top quality digital section built into the pre amplifier with a Burr Brown 24-bit/192k DAC and a carefully designed power supply. With 5 digital inputs that enable the amplifier to connect and clearly improve the sound of connected digital sources including; your computer, DVD player, TV and many other digital sources. In the QXR version, in which we use a new ESS-based DAC, as well as allowing input resolutions up to 32bit/ 768k, we have also introduced a new ‘reclocking’ process across all the digital inputs. This substantially reduces jitter and lowers the noise floor, as well as allowing a much shallower filter slope than ever before. This process virtually eliminates phase interference in the audible band (an approach only previously possible with noisy FPGA DAC solutions). The Pre2 DAC is designed to be partnered with one of our matching power amplifiers such as the X Power, Stereo 200 or Mono X 300 Signature. Build your system with a CD i or CD t and a Stream X Signature or Stream Xa for an exceptional music experience. Add a dedicated power supply such as the PSX R2 to further enhance the pre amp’s resolution. The Pre2 DAC QXR is a standard Pre2DAC with the new QXR digital card pre-installed. This new card improves the sound quality across all the digital inputs, increasing the possible input resolution to 32bit/ 768k (DSD 512) through the USB connection. Chill out. At home. In the office. The super-affordable compact DAC/headphone amp just got even better. Added oomph! This ZEN DAC V2 is the same award-winning hi-res USB DAC/headphone amp as before but with added oomph! We’ve upgraded its digital engine from an 8 core XMOS chip to a 16 core chip. It’s ultra-capable while still being super-affordable. Compact enough to use as a USB DAC/amp on your work desk and stylish enough to use at home with your favourite active speakers or amp, it delivers a level of specification and performance that punches above its super-affordable price tag. The ZEN DAC V2 supports PCM and DXD to 32-bit/384kHz, DSD256 and MQA. DSD remains ‘bit-perfect’ thanks to the True Native Burr-Brown chip design. 16 core = hardcore. Thanks to the 16 core tech, the ZEN DAC V2 is now an MQA Decoder rather than a Renderer only. This enables you to play back MQA audio files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording. The LED glows green or blue to indicate that the unit is decoding and playing an MQA stream or file, and denotes provenance to ensure that the sound is identical to that of the source material. It glows blue to indicate it is playing an MQA Studio file, which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has been verified by the copyright owner. MQA rendering technology (used in the original ZEN DAC among other iFi products) connects to an MQA Core signal (such as TIDAL) and completes the final unfold of an MQA file. Usually, the computer has carried out the decoding.  Smooth and balanced. A new and improved low jitter, crystal clock means >20dB better performance. The super-low noise performance means the ZEN DAC V2 will remain quiet even in noisy situations such as yachts or RVs. The balanced design for the analogue stage – rare and not found at this price point – makes it pretty special and delivers the best sound quality, normally found in higher priced models. The ZEN DAC V2 sports Pentaconn 4.4mm balanced outputs at both the front and back. On the front, there’s also the popular 6.3mm headphone socket. Flexible. Switch effortlessly between ‘variable’ and ‘fixed’. Set to ‘Variable,’ use the ZEN DAC V2 as a pre-amp to feed a power amp or active speakers. On ‘Fixed’ to bypass the volume control. Connect to an external pre-amp or integrated amp. Power. Drive. Performance. Our headphone amp has PowerMatch – switchable gain to perfectly match your headphones. For IEMs, normally high-sensitivity, leave PowerMatch at its lower setting for hiss-free listening. On/over-ear headphones with relatively low impedance require more power – press PowerMatch to increase the level of drive. Ace of Bass. The ZEN DAC V2 boasts TrueBass. This proprietary tech is a switchable ‘bass boost’ operating in the analogue domain. There’s no DSP with iFi gear. TrueBass enhances the bass but does not muddy the mid-range. Perfect for use with IEMs or open-back headphones which often lack bass. The ZEN DAC V2  is the ultimate chilling machine. Tune in and ZEN out. The XMOS 16-Core chip processes the audio data received via the USB* digital input. This new low-latency XMOS microcontroller has greatly enhanced processing power. Compared to the current generation of eight-core chips, this new 16-core IC delivers double the clock speed (2000MIPS) and four times the memory (512KB), as well as the latest SuperSpeed USB standard. iFi’s in-house digital development team has programmed the XMOS firmware to optimise sound quality and ensure a perfect partnership with the Burr-Brown DAC. The Burr-Brown True Native® chipset means file formats remain unchanged or ‘bit-perfect’. This means you are listening to music as the artist intended in the format in which it was recorded. At iFi we use Burr Brown extensively in our products having selected it for its natural-sounding ‘musicality’ and True Native architecture. Our experience with this IC means we know how to make the most of it. Hi-Res True Native® playback of all music formats from MP3 to DSD256, PCM384 and DXD384. MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is supported through the USB with full decoding of MQA files up to 384kHz thanks to the processing power of the new 16-core XMOS chip. This means that the full ‘three unfold’ decoding process is performed internally, as opposed to only the final unfold in the manner of an MQA ‘renderer’. Globally, MQA has become an important consideration for any comprehensively equipped DAC. It is available through for Tidal Masters, Audirvana and Roon. Extensive jitter-eradication technologies are applied to the digital stage, including our GMT (Global Master Timing) femto-precision clock and the intelligent memory buffer. The low-jitter crystal clock has been updated to provide >20dB better performance It is a superior method to the traditional single-ended circuit approach. Balanced circuits reduce noise and crosstalk. Less Interference – clearer sound. You normally find this set-up in products at the higher end of the price spectrum such as the Pro iCAN but iFi is now using this across its range to produce the best quality audio for all our customers. TrueBass – delivers genuine bass with realistic depth and definition. Everything from timpani to a bass guitar, to an electronic bassline, is conveyed with power and poise.

Digital audio is brilliant, but it needs to be analogue audio before you can hear it. And the way it ends up sounding depends entirely on how you convert the digital audio files stored on your computer, on CD or from your favourite streaming service. DacMagic 200M performs the digital-to-analogue conversion perfectly every time, letting all kinds of audio systems sound better than ever before.  Studio quality audio DacMagic 200M is Cambridge Audio’s first product to support MQA. MQA is an award-winning British technology that delivers studio-quality sound in a file small enough to stream. TIDAL, for instance, uses MQA technology to deliver master-quality sound in their Hi-Fi membership. Cambridge Audio’s DacMagic 200M can fully decode and playback MQA files, so they sound exactly like the original studio recording. On the product, look out for the blue MQA indicator. This indicates you are playing an MQA Studio file, which has either been approved in the studio by the artist or producer, or has been verified by the copyright owner. The green indicator is confirmation you are playing and decoding an MQA music file. Powerful processing At the heart of the DacMagic 200M is a pair of extremely high-quality ESS Sabre digital- to-analogue converters. They handle digital audio files up to 32bit/768kHz or DSD512, so they can deal with digital music of any kind stored on CDs, smartphones, computers - or anywhere else, for that matter. Once a digital file is onboard DacMagic 200M, its twin DACs convert it to analogue information with all of its dynamics and detail intact. And, because the analogue signal it sends to your audio set-up is so astonishingly free of distortion, so precise and so lifelike, your system will sound more convincing and complete than it ever has before. Easy integration Despite the incredible number of features, the extensive functionality and the extraordinary technology on board the DacMagic 200M, Cambridge Audio has managed to fit it all into a beautifully built, flawlessly finished steel and aluminium box measuring just 52 x 215 x 191mm. This means it will fit neatly and discreetly into any existing audio set-up without taking up loads of room or drawing too much attention to itself. All that’s required is a balanced or unbalanced connection to your system (and some mains power, of course) for DacMagic 200M to deliver you a sonic upgrade that’s way bigger than the box it comes from. Well connected It’s possible to get digital audio files into DacMagic 200M in any number of ways. Digital optical, digital coaxial and USB inputs mean CD players, games consoles, laptops or any other digital equipment can be easily hooked up - and Bluetooth aptX reception means it’s just as straightforward to wirelessly deliver files from your smartphone or tablet too. DacMagic 200M has both balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs, so can be easily connected to audio systems of all types, as well as switchable filters to give you different sonic options. Alongside its ability to deliver stunning sound to your speakers, it has a high-quality headphone amplifier with 6.3mm output on board too, so you can enjoy DacMagic 200M’s thrilling sound quality in private – at whatever volume you like.

An archival grade phono stage What was originally intended to be a simple RIAA add-on for the Makua Preamp has quickly spiraled into the quietest and probably most versatile phono stage ever built. MC/MM input stages are optimized for current noise and voltage noise respectively. Unlike the more common arrangement of an MC head amp feeding into the MM stage, the two stages are fully independent, realizing an equally short signal path for both. Input gain is switchable in 5dB steps over a 40dB range. Input resistance and capacitance are individually switchable. Available EQ settings cover practically all known cutting curves used, including most 78RPM.

All settings are software controllable, either on the fly using a smart-phone and tablet via the Mola Mola Remote app or directly stored under the preset buttons. The preamp can be configured to route any input through the phono stage, this allows you to have multiple turntables and cartridges connected. Key features PerformanceInput noise (MC): 0.35nV/rtHz

Future-Proof by being far aheadWe decided to design, from the ground up, a discrete DAC whose unbeatable staying power results simply from being more than 10 years ahead of the performance curve. To put it into perspective: today’s best DAC chip available, claims no better than 22 bits’ worth of dynamic range and only 20 bits’ worth of linearity. High resolution music deserves better than that. To accommodate this, Mola Mola’s DAC is designed using circuits and digital algorithms that were entirely developed in house.
The converter is a two board stack that fits into one of the option slots in the preamp. On the first board, all incoming digital audio is upsampled to 3.125MHz/32 bits and converted to noise shaped PWM. On the other board are two mono DACs, in which a discrete 32- stage FIR DAC and a single-stage 4th order filtering I/V converter, convert the PWM into analogue with a breathtaking 130dB SNR. This is near the theoretical limit for 24-bit files and far beyond that of even quad-speed DSD. Uniquely, distortion remains below the noise floor even for full scale signals. A quick look at current and historic trends of high-end IC’s indicates that for the foreseeable future this kind of performance will remain unavailable to manufacturers forced to rely on the same “chip du jour” that also powers their competitors’ products. Even by today’s exacting standards, extraordinary care has been taken to deal with jitter. Mola Mola’s DAC uses a home-grown asynchronous upsampling algorithm whose input frequency measurement slows down rapidly until after a few seconds of lock, the frequency ratio measurement is frozen. Frequency stability is then wholly determined by the internal clock, a laboratory grade 100MHz SC-cut oscillator. This is effectively an atomic clock sans the physics package (which contributes nothing to spectral purity but quite a lot to cost) Key features I/O AES/EBU (XLR) Optical (Toslink) USB type B Bluetooth (SBC, AAC, APTX, LDAC) Ethernet (Roon Ready) Supported formats PCM up to 384kHz/32 bits (>192kHz and >24 bits via USB and Roon only) DoP and Native DSD up to quad speed (USB and Roon only) Performance Full-Scale Output Level: 20dBu Signal to Noise Ratio: 130dB THD, IMD: not measurable (estimated -140dB) Bandwidth: Up to 80 kHz (apodizing response) Integrated jitter:

Responding to popular demand, Mola Mola launched the famous discrete DAC from the Makua as a separate unit. Mola Mola’s Tambaqui DAC is the perfect upgrade for owners of complete high-end systems who want to retain the characteristic sound of their existing preamplifier whilst lifting their digital sources to another level. The converter is a two board stack. With the addition of a lossless digital volume control and headphone outputs, it is also the ideal control hub of a minimalist audio system for music lovers who have moved on to a digital sources only system. This DAC, combined with a pair of Mola Mola Kaluga monoblocks constitutes the finest digital replay chain available, irrespective of price. Operating Principle PWM DAC with 32-stage discrete analogue FIR output stage. Avoids “sigma delta” tones and “R2R” glitch and low-level linearity errors. Όχι στην περίπτωση του ZEN CAN Signature 6XX. But we’ve souped it up with a new 16-core, XMOS microcontroller that processes the data via USB and S/PDIF digital inputs. Double the clock-speed. Four times the memory. Add in jitter eradication including our GMT femto-precision clock, intelligent memory buffer and our GTO filter as standard, and you’ve got one heck of a super DAC. Hi-res heaven The NEO iDSD supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz, DSD up to 512 and DXDx2. All remain ‘bit-perfect’. The NEO provides full MQA decoding to ensure the best possible sound quality.  Plus with MQA over S/PDIF, take advantage of any MQA CDs in your collection. Bleeding-edge Bluetooth iFi uses Qualcomm’s new QCC5100 Bluetooth processing IC. All current high-definition Bluetooth audio formats are supported – aptx, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX LL, LDAC, HWA/LHDC, AAC and SBC. The NEO iDSD ‘remembers’ up to 7 devices and has impressive range on Bluetooth5.0. Ride the ‘PureWave’ Not only is the NEO iDSD a purist design – no DSP, no digital filter selection and no change in analogue playback – it is also all designed around a balanced circuit design named ‘PureWave‘. Read more below. It uses audiophile-grade components and delivers sonic ‘purity’ thanks to the extraordinarily low levels of noise and distortion. Power and poise The headphone amp stage maintains an engaging balance between sonic power and poise – no matter what it is tasked to drive. From high-sensitivity in-ear monitors to current-hungry planar headphones, it drives them with aplomb. It has a continuous power output of over 1000mW into 32ohms available through the balanced headphone socket. Plenty of oomph for headphone user. Just more music The NEO iDSD contains top-notch audio components to back-up the outstanding balanced circuit design. Scroll down for more. Even the OLED SilentLine display is engineered to ensure there is no electrical noise to interfere with the audio signal as it switches itself off when not in use. Quality components mean more clarity and texture, a more engaging performance. You just hear more of the music. We use Qualcomm’s new QCC5100 Bluetooth processing IC in combination with proprietary circuits to create an audibly superior ‘Bluetooth engine’. All the current high-definition Bluetooth audio formats are supported – Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive and aptX HD, Sony’s LDAC and HWA’s LHDC, regular aptX and aptX Low Latency, AAC (Apple iOS devices) and SBC (the ‘plain vanilla’ Bluetooth codec). Of the 24-bit-capable codecs, aptX Adaptive and aptX HD support up to 48kHz, while LDAC and LHDC reach 96kHz. iFi’s ‘Bluetooth engine’ can also be updated over-the-air, so future codecs may be added. Balanced, differential analogue circuit design reduces noise and cross-talk within the signal path by fully separating the left and right channels. PureWave is a new, balanced, symmetrical dual-mono topology with short, direct signal paths. The name refers to the sonic purity it achieves thanks to exceptional linearity and infinitesimally low levels of noise and distortion. High-quality components are used throughout, including custom ultra-low-distortion op-amps, multilayer ceramic TDK C0G capacitors, MELF thin-film resistors and inductors from Murata and Taiyo Yuden. Their class-leading qualities such as low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance), high linearity and low noise pay great dividends in terms of sound quality. The headphone amp stage has a continuous power output of more than 1000mW into 32ohms available through the balanced headphone socket. To retain maximum resolution, the volume is adjusted in the analogue domain via a resistor ladder, under precise microprocessor control. MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is supported through the USB and S/PDIF inputs, with full decoding of MQA files up to 384kHz thanks to the processing power of the new 16-core XMOS chip. The XMOS 16-Core chip processes the audio data received via the USB and S/PDIF digital inputs. Hi-res audio support is state-of-the-art with True Native® playback. It handles PCM data to 32-bit/768kHz, DSD up to DSD512 and single and double speed DXD. Thanks to the Burr-Brown DAC chip’s four-channel True Native design, PCM and DSD take separate pathways – this enables DSD, as well as PCM, to remain ‘bit-perfect’ in its native form right through to analogue conversion. This is not the case with all DAC devices from other brands – even if DSD compatibility is stated, many such DACs convert DSD signals to PCM. Extensive jitter-eradication technologies are applied to the digital stage, including our GMT (Global Master Timing) femto-precision clock and intelligent memory buffer. This represents a total ‘out-of-the-box’ systematic digital solution that solves jitter once and for all. As with many other iFi audio products, we’ve incorporated a custom OV Series operational-amplifier. This top-notch component contributes to the extremely low noise, low distortion (0.0001%) and wide bandwidth. Texas Instruments low-noise ICs offer great unity-gain bandwidth, very low noise and distortion, high output drive capability, Common-mode and Power Supply Rejection Ratios of over 100 dB, wide maximum-output-swing bandwidths and high slew rates. TDK C0G (Class 1 ceramic) capacitors offer high stability and low losses for resonant circuit applications. They are pricey but are a perfect addition to our products. muRata control-type, low-ESR high-Q multi-layer capacitors. The ‘ESR control’ aspect of the Murata is something special. Their noise suppression abilities are impressive. Switching between settings has been engineered to ensure sonic transparency with advanced trench technology MOSFET is used as a muting switch. This FET-based switching is handled by a micro-controller, which only ‘wakes up’ when the user changes a setting, thus eradicating any sonically deleterious interference. Technical Specifications Inputs: Digital: USB3.0 B (USB2.0 compatible), S-PDIF (coaxial/optical), Bluetooth 5.0™ ( AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX LL, LDAC, LHDC/HWA Codec)  Formats: DSD512/256/128/64 Octa/Quad/Double/Single-Speed DSD, DXD (768/705.6/384/352.8kHz), Double/Single-Speed DXD, PCM (768/705.6/384/352.8/192/176.4/96/88.2/48/44.1kHz), MQA, Bluetooth 96kHz Outputs: Balanced XLR: 6.3V / 7.7V max. This headroom prevents the DSP overloads that commonly occur in other D/A converters. Four balanced 32-bit D/A converters are summed together to create each balanced analog output. This 4:1 summation provides a 6 dB noise reduction, and gives the DAC3 industry-leading performance. DAC3 VS. DAC2 The DAC3builds upon Benchmark’s highly successful DAC2 product family. The DAC3 maintains the familiar DAC2 form factor and feature set, but adds the higher performance available from the new ES9028PRO D/A converter. The DAC3 offers the following improvements over the DAC2: Active 2nd Harmonic Compensation Active 3rd Harmonic Compensation Lower THD+N Lower passband ripple Improved frequency response Faster PLL lock times Faster switching between input signals DAC3 VS. DAC1 The DAC3 and DAC2 added these features that were not found on the DAC1: Asynchronous 192kHz USB Audio 2.0 32-bit D/A conversion system Word Length Display Sample Rate Display Polarity Control Direct DSD D/A Conversion -20 dB DIM Bi-Directional 12V Trigger Power Switch with Auto-On Function Home Theater Bypass Digital Pass-Through High-Headroom DSP Dual-Domain Hybrid Gain Control Additional I/O NATIVE DSD CONVERSION All digital inputs on the DAC3 support native 192 kHz PCM or DSD64 conversion. From any input, DSD is transported with bit accuracy over DoP 1.1. DSD and PCM are both natively converted to analog. The DAC3builds upon Benchmark’s highly successful DAC2 product family. The DAC3 maintains the familiar DAC2 form factor, but adds the higher performance available from the new ES9028PRO D/A converter. The DAC3 DX offers the following improvements over the DAC2 DX: Active 2nd Harmonic Compensation Active 3rd Harmonic Compensation Lower THD+N Lower passband ripple Improved frequency response Faster PLL lock times Faster switching between inputs Adjustable calibration DAC3 VS. DAC1 The DAC3 and DAC2 add these features that are not found on the DAC1: Asynchronous 192kHz USB Audio 2.0 32-bit D/A conversion system Word Length Display Sample Rate Display Polarity Control Direct DSD D/A Conversion -20 dB DIM Bi-Directional 12V Trigger Power Switch  Home Theater Bypass Digital Pass-Through High-Headroom DSP Dual-Domain Hybrid Gain Control Additional I/O DAC3 TECHNOLOGIES 3:1 PARALLEL CONVERSION STRUCTURE The conversion system in the DAC3 DX achieves a 4.77 dB signal to noise improvement through the use of 3:1 summing on the main output bus. The ES9028PRO D/A is an 8-channel 32-bit converter. In the DAC3 DX, three channels are summed in the analog domain to form each of the two output channels on the main bus. The remaining two channels provide the aux bus outputs The 3:1 summing also improves the THD. The non-linearities in individual conversion channels are averaged across the four summed channels and incoherent non-linearities are attenuated by up to 4 dB. HARMONIC COMPENSATION The ES9028PRO has two distortion compensation systems that independently remove most of the 2nd and 3rd harmonic distortion in the D/A converter. Benchmark's ultra-clean analog output stages allow these systems to be fully leveraged in the DAC3 series. To the best of our knowledge, no other D/A converter has lower THD than the Benchmark DAC3 series. The DAC3 DX is Benchmark's newest 2-channel D/A converter.  When compared to the legendary DAC1, the DAC3 series has lower noise, lower distortion, and improved accuracy. The DAC1 and DAC2 series converters have become the reference standard in many of the finest recording studios and mastering rooms. The DAC3 defines a new reference. DAC3 converters deliver outstanding musical detail and precise stereo imaging.  They employ an advanced high-headroom digital filter design, and a high-sample-rate Asynchronous USB Audio interface. All inputs are fully isolated from interface jitter by Benchmark's new UltraLock3™ jitter attenuation system. Internal digital processing and conversion is 32-bits, and includes 3.5 dB of headroom above 0 dBFS. Three balanced 32-bit D/A converters are summed together to form the main output bus. Two channels are reserved for the auxiliary RCA output bus. The performance of the DAC3 DX exceeds the measurement limits of today's state-of-the art test equipment. NATIVE DSD CONVERSION All digital inputs on the DAC3 support native 192 kHz PCM or DSD64 conversion. From any input, DSD is transported with bit accuracy over DoP 1.1. DSD and PCM are both natively converted to analog. There are no DSD to PCM or PCM to DSD conversions to compromise the quality of the music. The DAC3 conversion system seamlessly switches between native PCM and native DSD conversion. DSD over DoP 1.1 is supported by many media players, and DSD downloads are now available from several sources. Enjoy seamless transitions between native DSD and native PCM playback. DIRECT CONNECTIVITY TO POWER AMPLIFIERS AND POWERED MONITORS Benchmark DAC1, DAC2, and DAC3 converters are designed to directly drive power amplifiers and powered speakers. Benchmark converters feature adjustable low-impedance passive attenuators at the XLR outputs that can be used to optimize the interface to the power amplifier (or powered monitor). The sonic importance of these attenuators cannot be overemphasized. Proper gain matching between the DAC/preamplifier and the power amplifier is essential for achieving peak system performance. The attenuators allow precise matching to all amplifiers and powered monitors. Passive output attenuators are only found on Benchmark converters - don't settle for anything less. SONICALLY NEUTRAL All Benchmark converters are designed for maximum transparency. This transparency is absolutely essential in the studio monitoring chain. DAC3 converters are ideal for critical reference-quality professional systems. In home applications, the DAC2 delivers the sonic signature that was created in the recording studio. Hear the music exactly as it was heard in the studio. TAKE THE STUDIO HOME When Benchmark's professional converters are used in hi-fi applications, studio-quality sound can be enjoyed in a home environment. The director sets the tone. The central unit of the HiFi system is the preamplifier. With remote source selection and volume control, retro-look-VU-meter, premium DA-converter and the all superior VOLTAiR technology, the Director Mk2 caters for musical blockbusters. Milled from solid is the big 45mm Volume control. Its mass together with the  motorized Alps RK27 “Big Blue” potentiometer enhances the “spoon in the honey” feeling even further. The red marker LED makes the setting visible even in darkened environments. Volume RC The volume can be remote controlled with any infrared remote control, that the Director Mk2 simply learns. Learning made easy This video explains how you can use any infrared remote control to remotely control the volume and the source selection. Source of joy Up to ten (10 !) stereo sources can be connected to the Director Mk2. Six of them are for analog and four for digital input signals. The source selection is shown in the dot matrix LED display: IN 1 through IN 6 for the analog inputs. AES, USB, COAX, OPTI for the digital inputs, where the detected sample rate is displayed after about two seconds. For example U768 = USB input with 768kHz sampling rate. The source selection can also be operated remotely if the rotary switch is set to the “Remote” position. The Director Mk2 offers two pairs of balanced inputs with XLR connectors and four standard inputs with gold-plated RCA connectors. On the digital side there are four additional inputs. PCM audio is received in S/P-DIF format via coaxial Cinch, optical Toslink and balanced XLR (AES). Both PCM audio and DSD audio can be converted via USB. The DAC768 The highly acclaimed AKM AK4490 Velvet Sound™ premium DAC chip is used as the converter chip in the digital-to-analog converter, which thanks to its new architecture reproduces the finest sound details. It converts PCM audio with a resolution of 32 bits and a sampling rate of up to 768kHz, which is equivalent to 16 times CD resolution. Direct Stream Digital is also supported up to a resolution of DSD4 or DSD256. The DLP120 The analog output of the DAC chip must be filtered by a low pass filter. Director Mk2 has two of them: One for PCM audio and one for DSD audio, since different roll-off frequencies are required. And in contrast to all other DACs in the world, the low pass filters here are built using VOLTAiR technology, which provides a plus in dynamics and headroom. Good ol' times Two mechanical VU meters visualize the input levels for the left and right audio channel. With the VU switch you can optimize the display for different signal levels. Tape Monitor A tape monitor circuitry is quite retro. Who still owns a cassette recorder or a tape machine? Who still has an equalizer? To put it another way: Who would like to do it and cannot do it because no manufacturer offers a tape monitor circuit anymore? Well, those who want can again. Today’s audio levels are much higher than in the past and many recorders will be overloaded by them. In that case simply press the switch and the level to the recorder is lowered by 10 dB. To compensate, the level from the recorder is increased by 10 dB. Et voilà. Preamp & Direct Out On the output side, power amplifiers or active loudspeakers can be connected to the preamp output sockets using XLRs. The Direct Out via RCA picks up the output signal before the volume control and thus offers the possibility to connect a headphone amplifier. AMP CTL Practical are the AMP CTL sockets to which power amplifiers with 12 V trigger inputs can be connected in order to remotely switch them on and off together with the Director Mk2. UNSURPASSED CLOCKING AND JITTER REJECTION Prism Sounds long history in developing test and measurement equipment for the audio industry has provided Callia with the pinnacle of ultra-stable clocks, ensuring the most accurate and detailed conversion available. AUDIO FORMATS CALLIA supports linear PCM in 2’s complement binary coding and, using the “DSD over PCM” (DOP) protocol, DSD at the original bit-rate (DSD64) and also at 2 x the original rate (DSD128). DSD Files encoded as “DOP” may be played with both ASIO and WDM drivers. Your computer, tablet or transport will commonly decode formats such as mp3 to PCM prior to transmission to the sound card, so these formats will typically be supported on your device in the same manner as they would be with another sound card. On the S/P-DIF inputs, DOP can also be used, but only at the original DSD bit rate (DSD64) as these connections do not have enough bandwidth for DSD128. The ASIO native DSD format is not currently supported. Specifications: Dimensions: Table-top (including feet): 285 x 242 x 50mm Power: 90VAC – 250VAC, 50 – 60Hz 15W consumption 0.5A(T), 20mm, glass Inputs: 1 x USB Audio Device Class 2.0 1 x TOSLINK for S/PDIF 1 x RCA for AES3-ID Outputs: 2 x XLR (balanced) 2 x RCA (pseudo-balanced)

Qutest is a standalone DAC whose performance belies its compact dimensions. With DAC architecture based on the award-winning Hugo 2, Qutest offers class-leading digital conversion. Qutest is our ‘pure’ DAC (it does not contain headphone amplification or rechargeable batteries like some of its range stablemates) and is designed to improve sound quality in the home. It is the latest evolution of our most affordable standalone DAC, the multi-award-winning 2Qute, which it directly replaces. Qutest, which is a What Hi-Fi? Star of CES 2018,  is based on our award-winning proprietary FPGA technology developed for the class-leading Hugo 2 DAC/headphone amp, giving it proven class-leading technical and sonic performance. Perfectly equipped to bring the benefits our digital technology to a wide range of connected devices, it features a galvanically isolated USB-B, optical and coaxial digital input, giving an instant performance upgrade, plus the ability to modernise ageing digital source components. The Qutest chassis is all-new, too. It has significantly greater mass than its predecessor and has been precision-machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminium billet. The Qutest PCB nestles within a shallow cavity in the solid aluminium chassis, giving the circuit board greater protection within the casework and additional isolation from external vibration compared to previous designs. Qutest offers Hugo 2’s proprietary user-selectable frequency-shaping filters and input selection controls, available via two fascia-mounted spheres, introducing useful flexibility. It also features RCA analogue outputs for connection to integrated amplifiers, preamps and headphone amps, plus high-resolution dual-data digital inputs for connection to future Chord Electronics products. A further new feature is a user-selectable output voltage available in 1, 2 and 3V RMS outputs for flexible connectivity with a wide range of partnering devices.
