High performance CD drive

Extremely robust and reliable. the Omnia CD drive is based on the class-leading transport 6000CDT with a digital read buffer to reduce disc read failures. Indicative of the performance of this CD drive is that the Omnia can play scratched and damaged CDs that are unreadable by conventional drives.

Connect to all traditional sound sources

Using high-quality analog preamp circuitry similar to the acclaimed audiolab 6000 series, combined with RCA line inputs for connecting analog sources, the preamp circuitry is kept as simple as possible. Using high quality components to maintain signal purity, with line input signals passed through a precision analog gain stage, the Omnia is an excellent preamplifier in its own right.

A dedicated MM phono input means a turntable can be connected directly to the Omnia via a high-quality, low-noise phonostage with precise RIAA equalization. This phono stage is the continued evolution of the award-winning 6000 series – designed to make the most of the music nestled in the grooves of an LP.

Audio playback via network

For network audio playback, the audiolab Omnia is equipped with an ethernet port, offering a wired connection for the higher bandwidth (connection speed) requirements of high-resolution digital audio.

For the most convenient access to wireless music playback, Omnia offers high-quality, low-latency Bluetooth connectivity with the Bluetooth aptX standard.

The Omnia's Wi-Fi networking, the same as the 6000A Play, is controlled by DTS Play-Fi: an app-controlled platform that enables high-quality wireless whole-home audio, high-resolution music streaming up to 24-bit/192kHz and supported by a wider range of established audio brands than any other wireless platform.

USB DAC Section

The USB DAC division is based on award-winning long-time audiolab partner. The new ESS9038 Q2M SABER 32 Reference DAC performs D/A conversion, using ESS technology's 32-bit HypersStream II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator to deliver ultra-low noise and high dynamic range.

No company knows more about harnessing this technically excellent, yet challenging DAC technology than audiolab. the world-acclaimed M-DAC was one of the first home audio components to incorporate an ESS chip in 2011, and the company has been honing its implementation ever since.

Via the USB DAC section, audiolab Omnia also offers full MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) decoding. MQA is an award-winning British technology that reproduces the sound of the original master recording. Omnia includes MQA decoder technology, which enables you to play MQA audio files and streams – received via the USB input – at the full resolution of the original file and passes the signal through the DAC and preamplifier stages. MQA files are available via subscription to TIDAL's 'HiFi' tier (among other sources).

IPS LCD Screen

Consistently used as a very useful piece of high-tech equipment, the audiolab Omnia uses a color IPS LCD display, offering greater color clarity and lower power consumption than TFT displays. Through its stunning display, audiolab Omnia offers a simplified general user interface and a graphical integration with your music source and playback formats. It also uses a brand new protocol for a real-time VU meter display, adding a touch of hi-fi finesse to the highly functional yet beautiful display interface.

ROON

In addition, audiolab Omnia is also tested on Roon. Roon's fundamental goal is to provide a consistently amazing user experience. This goal doesn't stop at the software… the experience extends to the audio playback hardware, regardless of manufacturer. As a partner of Roon Tested, audiolab provided equipment to Roon for testing with a variety of different operating systems and computers and shared information about its design and capabilities. We have a direct relationship with Roon and in many cases the Roon support team has our devices on hand so you can choose to use audiolab hardware with Roon with confidence.

Roon transforms the music browsing experience. Artist photos, titles, biographies, reviews, lyrics, tour dates and composers are automatically located and then cross-linked to create a searchable and searchable digital magazine for your collection.

In addition to music browsing, Roon is a MultiRoom audio platform built to the exacting standards of audiophiles. It offers features such as bit-perfect playback, DSD and PCM sampling, multi-channel playback and signal path display.

Very easy to connect

Connecting your speakers is very easy. Simply connect your passive speakers to the audiolab Omnia and you have access to a world of sound sources with flawless reproduction.

The discrete Class AB power amplifier stage delivers 50W per channel into 8 ohms, with a maximum current delivery of 9 Amps, into tough loads. The output stage of the power amplifier's discrete circuits uses a CFB (Complementary Feedback) topology, ensuring superior linearity and excellent thermal stability, as the quiescent current is maintained independent of the temperature of the output transistors. A substantial 200VA toroidal transformer, followed by 4×15,000uF capacitance (60,000uF in total), helps the amp maintain firm control of the music while still offering excellent dynamic range.
