The 3.3 is constructed using high quality components and comes complete with a tonearm, cartridge mounted, and dust cover.Speed ControlThe 3.3 has a built-in electronic speed control for 33/45/and 78. The platter speed switches from 33 to 45 rpm at the touch of a button. 78 rpm requires the movement of the belt to a different location on the motor pulley, and the use of a different belt, included with the turntable.Carbon Fiber Arm with Bonded Alloy HeadshellThis tonearm is unique to music hall. Bonding the alloy headshell to the carbon arm-tube stiffens and dampens the carbon fiber tube. This construction significantly improves the sound and performance over similar looking one-piece carbon arms. The alloy headshell allows you to securely mount the cartridge to the tonearm without the twist and flex that is common in lesser one-piece carbon arms. Tonearms should not twist/flex as this negatively impacts the cartridge and tonearm’s ability to properly track the record groove. On many one-piece carbon tonearms, you can literally pinch the cartridge end of arm between your thumb and forefinger and twist/flex the arm-tube. DescriptionFormerly known as the hunt E.D.A., the Music Hall Record Cleaning Brush contains over 1,000,000 anti-static carbon fibers.The fibers are in two rows with a static grounding pad centered between. The grounding pad supports the tiny carbon fibres and keeps them erect so they can dig down deep into the groove and extract trapped dust. Look at a record; it contains microscopic undulations inside the groove wall smaller than a human hair that the naked eye cannot see. This is how music is stored on an LP. And this is why fat pads will not do.A fat pad can’t get down into the groove. It simply brushes over the top and removes the surface dust. The real culprit is the dust that’s trapped deep in the record groove. The only way to remove this dust is with the Music Hall Carbon Fiber Brush.It’s super easy to useDon’t push it down on the record; simply support the back of the brush with your hand and let the brush’s weight do the work. You want to keep those bristles erect, not rolled over. The Music Hall Carbon Fiber Brush comes with its own support stand, which also doubles as a cleaning tool. mmf-11.3 TurntableWe are never still at Music Hall. We’re always seeking to improve upon our past successes and push the limit of what’s possible with each product we design. The Music Hall 11.3 represents the culmination of years of R&D and is the finest example of our design philosophy.Unique TechnologyWe made significant changes to the motor assembly and its placement. The motor now sits on its own isolation platform separate from the turntable. This alteration and other changes to the overall size of the table has significantly elevated the performance and sound of the 11.3. It’s our finest achievement to date.Vibration dampingMoving the main bearing to the second plinth improved cartridge tracking and significantly lowered background noise. The adjustable magnetic-levitation isolation feet and all wiring are mounted on the bottom plinth.—The material used for the hemispheres which separate each of the four main plinths and provide additional vibration damping has been refined and improved. A TPE material is now used, custom designed for music hall, which is able to isolate all the plinth-layers more efficiently.
