Description The One you needNot sure what a DAC is but know you want better sound quality for your music, movies, games, podcasts and YouTube guilty pleasures? Then, the new iFi Uno is for you.All devices that act as digital sound sources use a built-in DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter) to convert the digital info in your source device – your computer, tablet or smartphone – to music you can hear through speakers or headphones. External DACs sound much better than the standard DACs used inside these devices.Imagine the difference in quality from a standard TV to an 8K Ultra HD TV — but in sound! This is the difference an external DAC makes to your music. The iFi Uno will supercharge your sound. Everything will sound more powerful, more detailed and more real. The One you wantSmall enough to fit into the palm of your hand, the iFi Uno’s cute, curvy case is made from tough, mineral-filled polymer. Inside, the sophisticated DAC and headphone amp circuitry will upgrade the basic audio tech in all sorts of digital devices. Connect the iFi Uno via the USB-C input to your Windows PC, Apple Mac, smartphone or tablet. It needs no power source as it receives both power and audio data from the source it is connected to. Add headphones, powered speakers or an amp and separate speakers and you have what you’ve always wanted – bigger, bolder, more detailed sound.Work. Chill. Play. One simple device. Three unique modes.Music mode unlocks detailed and engaging sound from all your favourite artists. Listen while you work.Movie mode enhances dialogue clarity when you’re streaming films and must-watch TV shows. Never miss a moment.Game mode makes low-level sound effects crystal-clear. Always hear your enemies coming and storms brewing.Simply use the button on the front panel to cycle through the three settings. Illuminated logos on the top of the iFi Uno indicate your chosen mode.Uno, dos, hi-resThe iFi Uno supports different file formats – PCM 32bit/384kHz, fully native DSD256 and MQA.PCM – Pulse Code Modulation is the file format used in CD, DVD, Blu-ray and other digital audio applications. It’s the next step up from MP3.DSD – Direct Stream Digital is a very high-quality audio format, better than CD quality. The higher the number (sample rate), the better the recording – DSD64, 128, 256, 512 and 1024. Fully native means that it hasn’t been altered in any way from the original recording.MQA – Master Quality Authenticated is an award-winning audio technology that enables music fans to stream the original master recording into their home, car or their mobile. With the iFi Uno you can listen to MQA straight out of the box. Simply connect to Tidal Masters and check the option to stream MQA.DAC’s the ticketThe iFi Uno draws on our ten years of experience and the advanced spec of the DAC chip within it to unlock rarely implemented high-end features. Adjustable analogue gain with DRE (Dynamic Range Enhancement) plus technologies to minimise THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) and crosstalk and a choice of digital filters is accessible via the front-panel buttons enabling you to fine-tune the sound of the iFi Uno to your taste. In short, whether you simply use the Mode features or decide to tinker further, the iFi Uno will make audio sound clearer, minimise any interference and just give you a better entertainment experience across the board.Awesome analogueThe Uno’s analogue circuitry is just as vital to the supercharged sound quality it provides as its digital tech. The headphone amp feeds a 3.5mm socket at the front, incorporating iFi’s S-Balanced configuration to reduce noise and crosstalk. The stereo RCA output at the rear also benefits from our knack for delivering high-grade audio circuitry in remarkably affordable devices. All the analogue outputs are gold-plated to resist corrosion and maintain conductivity over time. Most DACs still use digital volume control – ours is analogue. Why is this special? When you reduce the volume on other DACs you remove data from the song or soundtrack. With analogue volume control, you reduce the volume whilst maintaining the quality. And finally, there’s PowerMatch – this ensures you always have the right amount of power to drive the headphones you are using. You can count on the iFi Uno to deliver great sound for everyoneHi-Res TrueNative® playback of all music formats from MP3 to DSD256, PCM384 and DXD384.Discrete ESS Sabre Hyperstream DAC chipset with time domain jitter eliminator, discrete oscillator and 112dB dynamic range for discerning listeners.Extensive jitter-eradication technologies are applied to the digital stage, including our GMT (Global Master Timing) femto-precision clock and intelligent memory buffer. This represents a total ‘out-of-the-box’ systematic digital solution that solves jitter once and for all.In music production, dynamic range means the difference between the loudest and quietest sounds. It’s measured in decibels, or dB for short. In a single audio track, dynamic range means the dB difference between the loudest and quietest moment in the audio file. You can think of the dynamic range in a system as the space between the noise floor and the clipping point. When a sound goes below the noise floor you won’t be able to tell the difference between the signal and the system noise of the medium. When a sound goes above the clipping point, the tops of its waveform will get abruptly cut off, causing harshness and distortion.iFi’s proprietary technology extends the Dynamic Range by 6 dB or more, for an improved listening experience.iFi’s exclusive S-Balanced® circuit delivers maximum performance from single-ended and balanced headphones alike.TDK C0G (Class 1 ceramic) capacitors offer high stability and low losses for resonant circuit applications.Getting ever closer to the theoretical ideal of pure, frequency-constant capacitance, these capacitors reduce capacitor-induced distortion to vanishingly low levels. They are pricey but are a perfect addition to our products.muRata control-type, low-ESR high-Q multi-layer capacitors. The ‘ESR control’ aspect of the Murata is something special. Their noise suppression abilities are impressive.

The e-TP80 is a sophisticated, luxuriously made power distributor that eliminates many common problems found with audio and video components caused by massively contaminated electrical power. The AC waveform becomes severely distorted by ground noise, voltage spikes and sags, high frequency power supply noise from other components in your own system, plus radiated high frequency digital noise from processors and digital interconnects. There are also distortion products at the top and bottom of the AC waveform created by switch-mode power supplies in electronic devices on the same circuit. Additionally, you’re never alone; your residential AC mains supply is shared with other apartments, homes, and businesses on the same utility transformer. That’s why many audio and video enthusiasts notice their systems are more enjoyable late at night or on weekends! The beautifully crafted special grade aluminum chassis effectively shields against another common problem, RFI (Radio Frequency Interference), and a layer of Formula GC-303 blocks EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference).Internal wiring is FURUTECH μ-14 wire(14 AWG) that guarantees low resistance. Furutech Hyper Quality Audio Grade Receptacles are wired to the IEC AC input of the e-TP80. Receptacles feature 24K gold-plated phosphor bronze, non-magnetic conductors for stable, long lasting, optimized power transfer. Formula GC-303GC-303 is a special material Furutech bonds to the interior bottom-plate of the chassis that absorbs EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) generated by the internal fittings of the unit. Furutech’s Two-Stage Cryogenic and Demagnetizing Alpha ProcessUsing cutting-edge technology and materials, Furutech developed a low-temperature two-stage process that significantly improves every facet of audio and video performance. The treatment begins during the manufacturing process with a deep, conditioning cryogenic freeze of all metal parts. Using high-end refrigerants -- liquid N2 or He -- Furutech achieves temperatures of between -196 to -250°C. The treated parts actually change their molecular structure at these extremes of temperature relieving internal stress. The molecules bond together more tightly and the overall structure becomes more stable. This improves electrical conductivity and so power and signal transfer.Step two in the Alpha Process exposes these same parts to the patented Ring Demagnetization treatment. Ordinary high power magnets used for this purpose often increase magnetic effects; they leave some areas more magnetized than others. This patented process uses controlled attenuation to completely eliminate magnetization for immediately more vivid and colorful improvements. Ring Demagnetization further enhances conductivity of all treated materials.ALL metallic parts used in Furutech products go through the Alpha Process treatment to keep all connectors, conductors, and metal parts in a perfect stress-free, stable and highly conductive state. The Final ResultThe 2-Step Alpha Cryogenic and Demagnetizing Process works in tandem with other designed-in features to create the most optimized AC power transfer possible. Furutech’s scientific outlook, total awareness and devotion to detail results in a greater sense of power, dynamics, and resolution, with cleaner, blacker backgrounds and a larger, more stable soundstage, vivid tonal colors and deeper extension at both ends of the frequency range. The e-TP80 will allow the delicacy, refinement and nuance of a performance through, along with micro- and macro-dynamics that will leave you breathlessly engaged. Displays of all types will exhibit greater, sharper resolution with less ghosting, color shift, “snow”, or vertical and horizontal lines.

Ortofon aspires to provide the ultimate musical experience through a mixture of innovation, technical expertise and inspiration. This new state of the art phono cartridge, representative of numerous Ortofon design elements and ideals, is truly exemplary of the highest degree of performance possible in contemporary analogue playback technology. For the new MC Diamond cartridge, the Ortofon Wide Range Damping System (WRD) has been re-engineered to include an enhanced rubber suspension, specially developed in-house.The WRD system was originally introduced in the MC 20 Mk II in 1979 and was also subsequently used in the MC A90, MC Windfeld, Xpression, MC Anna, MC Anna Diamond and MC Century phono cartridges. In this system, a small, heavy platinum disc is sandwiched between two rubber absorbers, both with different properties. This ensures not only an exceptional tracking performance, but also creates a perfect damping through the entire frequency spectrum. Because of this, distortion and resonance are virtually eliminated entirely. The new rubber compound formula is based on the Multi Wall Carbon Nano Tube (MWCNT) highly efficient nano filler. The new MWCNT-based compound offers desirable mechanical properties, which allow for optimal interaction between compliance and damping, that improves stability and playback and ensures unparalleled sound quality. The cartridge body of the MC Diamond is made of titanium using our custom Selective Laser Melting (SLM) technique. This technique allows for precise control of the density of the body, which provides extremely high internal damping, and results in a significant reduction in vibrations and enhanced sound quality. Magnet System The MC Diamond’s magnet system combines choice materials, optimized geometry, and unrivaled consistency that deliver unmatched performance. Together with the non-magnetic armature, the result is vivid, highly-accurate audio reproductions defined by nearly boundless dimensionality.Replicant 100 Diamond The MC Diamond makes use of Ortofon Replicant 100 diamond. This Line Contact type stylus distinguishes itself by having a narrow and long contact surface, which is as close as possible to the original cutting stylus. This ensures the most accurate reproduction, lowest distortion and extended frequency range. NB: The stylus guard provided for the MC Diamond is designed to be easily replaced and removed without risking contact to the fragile stylus assembly. To avoid accidental damage to the stylus or cantilever please mount the enclosed stylus guard onto the cartridge whenever the cartridge is not in use. The stylus guard should also be attached during mounting or removal of the cartridge.Diamond cantileverThe MC Diamond uses a solid Diamond Cantilever that, in combination with Ortofon Replicant 100 diamond, offers extreme transparency, speed, and responsiveness beyond any other combination. A solid Diamond cantilever provides the best possible interface between the stylus and armature, owing to its hardness and crystal structure. The improvements found in the use of a Diamond cantilever have redefined the boundaries of analogue reproduction, presenting greater inner detail, subtlety, and depth like never before.

DescriptionThe CBR12 is the most compact model in its series. While delivering astonishing power for its size and weight, the CBR12 is ideal for both portable and installed applications.
It is well known that using monoblock amplifiers, as opposed to both channels together as a stereo chassis, is the best way to get powerful and lifelike music. By using separate power supplies that can be much more massive, each amplifier can have more dynamic power and be quieter. Keeping two separate amplifiers also makes any inter-channel crosstalk in the amplifiers impossible, so separation is better, meaning your soundstage and musical imaging will be larger and more well-defined. The simple act of separating the two channels provides a lot of distinct advantages, but also increases the investment because of needing to double up on power supplies and chassis parts. Is this extra expense worth it? One listen to the CAD-211FE will convince you that it most certainly is. With over 70 watts of class-A power, automatically transitioning as needed to over 150 watts in class-AB, this powerhouse will effortlessly drive nearly any speaker to realistic live performance levels. It includes a bias meter on the front panel to help you maintain your amplifier at its peak operating level, and offers both XLR balanced and RCA single-ended inputs to match your system. Fully differentially-balanced construction, zero global feedback, and huge reserves of current and power mean that your system will come alive with all types of music and movies.
The CAD-805 Reference Series (CAD-805RS) is the latest edition in the 805 series of single-ended mono block amplifiers that has been in continuous production since 1993.Here is what you will see with a pair of CAD-805RS moving from front to back. The front panel is a handsome thick machined aluminum that is available in either silver or black anodized finish. The CAD-805RS is equipped with a built-in meter on the front of the chassis. The adjustment pot is located at the rear of the chassis along with a bias jack for an external meter. Looking at the amplifier from above, you see a top-plate, which is finished in a handsome Anthracite Black gloss enamel, with white silkscreened lettering. To the left, the main power switch, to the right the ‘standby/operate’ switch which powers up the 211 or 845 output tubes. To the left is a rotary switch with a green jewel-like knob that chooses the appropriate bias for your choice of 211 or 845 output tubes. To the right is a similar rotary knob that dials in ‘negative feedback’ on a global basis and is adjustable from “off” in a continual rotation to a max of 10 dB of feedback. Also, on this top front portion of the amplifier are two 6SN7 input stage tubes, a 300B driver stage tube, and your choice of either an 845 or 211 output tube.Behind the tubes, the main real-estate of the 805 is occupied by two very impressively sized transformers—one power, and one output, and four electrolytic capacitors. Also, toward the rear of the chassis are the aforementioned setscrew adjustment pot for biasing purposes and the quarter inch bias jack for reading the bias of the 300B driver tube. These are the only user adjustments you will have to worry about, other than choosing your output tube flavor. The back panel offers a choice of 4, 8, or 16 ohm speaker outputs that are very high quality and heavy duty. There is a RCA input jack and a XLR input jack with a user selectable switch, and two visible fuses—one for the 300B and one for the output tube. There is also a built-in fuse within the AC power socket. The power cord is detachable. To review the circuit, the single-ended audio input signal from the outside world is passed to the control input grid of the first 6SN7 tube. This first 6SN7 stage is operating in a parallel dual triode conventional resistance-coupled Class A amplifier. This first gain stage is directly coupled to the next 6SN7 dual triode gain stage. This second stage is operating in a series anode constant-current Class A amplifier. This amplified audio signal is passed through a coupling capacitor to the grid of the 300B driver stage. The 300B triode tube operates in a Class A single-ended mode utilizing fixed negative grid voltage on the 300B driver stage. This negative grid voltage is user-adjusted by the screwdriver pot at the rear of the CAD-805RS. The 300B is directly coupled to the grid of either a 211 or 845, 100-watt plate dissipation, triode output tube. The method of coupling at this stage is called an interstage transformer. This is an air-gap design with a flat frequency response from 30Hz to 23 KHz.The audio signal from the 300B interstage transformer will drive the 211/845 output tube to 27 watts Class A output. With additional volume levels, the amplifier goes into a positive grid mode with a power output of 50 watts Class A2. In the case of the 211-output tube, the Class A2 power is on the order of 70 watts at clipping. The high-power output from the 211/845 tube is coupled to the loudspeaker via an air-gapped 150 watt continuous duty output transformer. This transforms the high impedance (8000 ohm primary winding) of the output tube to 4,8, or 16 ohms to drive the loudspeaker.

The introduction of the SA-500.1 ES solid-state power amplifier represents the next generation of the SA-500.1 design. It embodies a modular approach that ensures consistency in performance, and ease of manufacture and serviceability. In implementing the new design, we have dramatically improved performance and current-handling capacity over the previous model while still maintaining the highest levels of sonic quality. The SA-500.1 ES is a 500 watt monoblock amplifier into 8 ohms, (1000 watts into 4 ohms), with balanced and single ended inputs. The amplifier exhibits very high current capability, is stable into low impedance loads, and features 3 dB of dynamic headroom. When we designed the SA-500.1 ES power amplifier, one of our primary goals was to create a product that would give years of consistent and reliable use without any maintenance. To achieve that goal we took a hard look at the design and choice of components. For example, we use high-precision metal film resistors in almost all our circuitry, even in places where their use is not required. We have overbuilt the output stage and increased the heat dissipating capabilities of the amplifier by as much as 50% over previous designs. The changes encompass almost every part of the design, down to the choice of thickness of the chassis sheet metal. The monolithic front end brought major advantages to the amplifier design with improved temperature stability, low offset, and a substantial reduction of all types of distortion across the full frequency spectrum.

Tube aficionados have long known that the best possible realism and detail comes when an amplifier is run in SET mode, or Single-Ended Triode. This lets one power tube handle both sides of each musical waveform, eliminating some of the most fatiguing distortions. It results in lower output power, naturally, but with high-efficiency speakers played at reasonable levels, its ultimate simplicity means the ultimate in musical naturalness. While only offering 15 watts per channel of pure class-A remote-controlled power, the CAD-300SEI does things that almost no other amplifier today can achieve. Its careful attention to design and construction means that it is extremely quiet, allowing the tiniest musical details to float against a background of dead silence. This will help you perceive more accurate soundstaging and imaging cues, as well as the most realistic harmonic structure of each instrument. You can tell a Steinway from a Bösendorfer piano, a Stradivarius from a Guarneri or Amati violin, or a Fender from a Gibson guitar. You’ll hear inner details of musical groups that you never knew were there. Sometimes the simplest IS the best, and the CAD-300SEI is a testament to that philosophy.

The SLI-100 will draw you in even further as you realize how lucid and utterly uncolored neutrality reveals delicate nuances in the sound stage.
DescriptionMichell's flagship turntable and most would say the worlds best looking. The Michell Orbe turntable takes the established concept of the GyroDec and adds to it an extra level of isolation, better structural damping, and an improved motor drive system. The motor controller employs the revolutionary Never-Connected mains isolation circuit.
DescriptionThe SE is the ‘sport’ version of Michell’s Orbe rangetopper. It cuts down on costs by removing the acrylic casework of its namesake and, in many respects, looks the better for it. Like the well-regarded Gyro, it is a fully suspended design that floats the armboard and platter on three springs, which sit under three posts that stick up from the cast aluminium subchassis that surrounds the platter. Underneath are two acrylic layers in a tristar shape that reach out to support the suspension posts and fix-to-turned aluminium feet.Set up is a matter of adjusting the knurled tops under the three covers, so that the turntable is level without leaving a large gap between the bottom of the subchassis and the tristar. In practice, there isn’t much scope and you need a level support in the fi rst place, because the gap should not exceed a couple of millimetres. The platter looks heavy, but as its made from a mix of vinyl and acrylic, it sits on an inverted bearing and is driven by a round-section rubber belt. The motor housing is the biggest in the group and supports a DC motor that connects to an external power supply that offers speed switching. The Techno Arm is a heavily modified Rega RB250, with silver litz cable, silver plated plugs, cartridge clips and a VTA adjuster. It also features the Tecnoweight, which keeps mass at the same level as the stylus for better tracking and allows incremental downforce adjustment.Sound qualityThis turntable sounds more substantial than its platter feels, but you can’t judge a turntable by mass, it’s design and engineering quality that count and the Orbe SE seems to have both of those down. It has real bottom end weight combined with an open, assured midband that lets instruments and voices through in all their tonal glory. The drawback with many high-mass designs is that they don’t time well because there is a tendency for mass to retain and reflect energy. This turntable avoids that altogether and produces an extremely coherent and right-sounding result. This was a view shared by the panel, who enjoyed the Orbe SE’s fi ne dynamics and full-scale soundstage in which voices and guitars were projected with considerable realism. It garnered favourable comments about its timing, even if leading edges were considered less obvious. It also managed to turn in a very enjoyable rendition of the dub plate, which revealed much of its extension and rhythmic coherence. There were several comments about the quality of piano tone from the listeners, with one describing it as being ‘realistic’ and another as being detailed. The Orbe clearly has a strong and well-defi ned bottom end and this goes a long way to placing a piano solidly on a realistic soundstage. It’s not just about weight either, its also very good with voices, which are well articulated. Allan Taylor’s guitar is also well projected into the room in the context of a full-scale image. Transparency could be greater, as some of the competition reveal, but the Orbe SE balances power and subtlety very effectively. What’s more, it has a breadth of appeal that none of the alternatives could quite match which is impressive to say the least.

High FidelityThe first of its kind, hemp finds yet another purpose in The Hemp Headphone. A brilliant, warm, and precise sound rolled into a Limited Edition Grado.Into the UnknownIn our never-ending pursuit to experiment with all types of woods and materials, we had the opportunity to build with hemp. We weren't sure how these hemphones would turn out, but to everyone’s surprise it quickly became a favorite passed around Grado. To be blunt, this is one of the best sounding Limited Editions we've assembled.Built from HempThe highly compressed hemp creates a damping effect between their fibers. This produces a fuller sound, comprised of a noticeable low end and a top end that extends smoothly to its limits. The hemp may be doing the heavy lifting, but the hemphone is a joint effort. We placed maple into the housing to help balance out the sound, and bring out the sonic properties that we’ve heard maple produce.Driver FocusedThe Grado drivers in the hemp housings had to be specifically tuned for a material we’ve never worked with before. Being paired with maple gave us some foresight, but only through trial-and-error could we get the speakers to sound how we wanted, and bring out the potential of the hemp.High ExpectationsThe last seven decades has given us time to perfect our sound, letting the headphones reveal new notes and details in songs heard hundreds of times. The Hemp Headphone is a slow burn, constantly getting better with every listen. As we make sure with every headphone we build our Grado signature sound is ever-present, working in tandem with the hemp and maple.Hand Assembled in BrooklynEach Hemp Headphone is hand assembled by our team in Brooklyn. Fine rolled for every genre of music, hemp and maple work together for the first time to bring a new level of vibrancy to our Limited Editions. We started building on a kitchen table in 1953, and every experience since then has led to the creation of The Hemp Headphone.
Tri-Wood OasisLeading the way for our 4th gen X Drivers, the redesigned RS1x combines maple, hemp, and cocobolo wood into a vivacious and elegant headphone. The Sound of WoodFor the first time, three different wood species are working together in a Grado headphone. The housing is made of a maple sleeve, hemp core, and cocobolo outer ring. For decades we’ve used wood for its warm and embracing tonal abilities, but finding the right balance of three separate woods is no simple task. The reward though is an RS1x that opens Grado to a new level of sound.Signature SoundPulling everything we can from the new 50mm X Driver, our signature sound is brought to new heights when combined with maple, hemp, and cocobolo. Maple takes care of most of the work, hemp smooths out top and low ends, while cocobolo adds that extra punch. Together the sound the woods produce, when combined with our special processes, are full-bodied, dynamic, and truly defined.X Series DriversThe RS1x is the first headphone to be built with the larger 50mm X Drivers. Specifically tuned for the tri-wood RS1x, this new speaker design features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with decreased effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm. Reengineering these components for our 50mm drivers improve efficiency, reduces distortion, and preserves the harmonic integrity of your music.New Cable & HeadbandsAlong with the speakers, the cables and headband have been redesigned for the RS1x. Housed in a more durable exterior, the now super annealed copper 8-conductor cable reveals even more of your music with improved purity. The new black leather headband features a white-stitched accent.Hand Assembled in BrooklynFounded on a kitchen table in 1953, and working with wood for over a quarter century, Grado Labs has been perfecting the art of sonic reproduction every day since. This RS1x has traveled from workbench to workbench until ready for your ears. Every experience since that kitchen table has led to the creation of the RS1x.
