A traditional balanced cable uses three cores of wire to carry the audio signals: one shielded core for the hot/positive leg, one shielded core for the cold/negative leg (which is wired in reverse polarity to the positive leg), and a plain outer wrap that functions as the ground. A balanced audio system effectively rejects most induced noise encountered along the cable’s length by removing signals that are common to both the hot and cold legs.StarQuad construction takes that concept even further, by using four cores instead of two: two cores each for the hot/positive and cold/negative legs and a single ground. This helps to further shield the audio from RFI (radio frequency interference) even more than a traditional 3-conductor cable. What Is Double-Reussen Shielding? Most cable construction techniques use an outer wrap of wire to act as the ground. Some manufacturers braid this wire, while others simply wrap the wires in a highly uniform way to shield the interior wires from interference. Double-Reussen shielding goes much further than more traditional techniques in two ways: First, the cable is wrapped with not one but TWO separate shields, and second, the outer shield is wrapped in a contrary direction to the inner shield. This creates a stronger and more complete shield from RFI for the internal cores, and can result in an astounding reduction of interference. Double-Reussen shielding is a tad more expensive to manufacture, but for those who will accept nothing but the best it represents the pinnacle of current balanced cable technology.

Tech Talk Our 4-way monitoring system SC4070 features two 6.5" SilverCone woofers with a specially made 1.5” voice coil to extend the bass frequency response down to 32Hz. Both woofers work simultaneously up to 280Hz. An especially developed 4" SilverCone midrange unit joins these high quality bass drivers that endows these speakers with a greater linear excursion and clear and accurate midrange. The bass and mid woofers in our SC4070 feature our very low distortion copper cap magnet system. The combination of our unique glass fibre coated diaphragm and a very stiff but light honeycomb structure reproduces sound spectacularly detailed and clear. Our proprietary Air Motion Transformer AMT RS3.1 completes SC4070. The core of those AMT tweeters is a folded membrane that works in a powerful magnetic field of a large neodymium magnet. Due to design changes like new materials, improved inner damping construction and a more efficient magnet field SC4070 delivers a higher sound pressure level with virtually no distortion even at high output levels. This AMT RS3.1 can achieve to reproduce a frequency response up to 40 kHz. Each chassis in SC4070 is fitted with its own PWM amplifier for total short-term output power of 1000 W. With a max output level of 126dB (SPL @ 1m, half space, pair) mixes can be judged precisely, whatever their intended output level is. The SC4070 combines perfectly powerful bass with very transparent midrange and crystal clear but silky-smooth high frequencies and is predestined to be the perfect work piece for mid to large size control rooms where quality and consistent power output are important variables. As with every other EVE Audio studio monitor you get both balanced XLR input and unbalanced RCA input for greater convenience. Dsp / Smart-Knob All EVE Audio monitors feature a high-resolution DSP electronics. A high-quality analog/digital converter from BurrBrown (24bit/192kHz) converts the analog input signal supplied via RCA or XLR. The DSP ensures latency-free filtering and simultaneously protects the entire frequency range from overload. When switched on, the volume of the monitor increases slowly to leave enough time to reduce the source volume if the input signal is too loud. Adjustments to the acoustic environment can be made via the front rotary/pressure encoder, the SMART-knob with rotating LED ring. This knob allows the levelling of system volume as well as the adjustment of filters for room variables (low shelf, mid eq and high shelf filters). All settings are displayed on the LED ring, providing instant information about the selected values. The brightness of the LED ring can be adjusted for dark studios or video applications. High-quality Class D amplifiers complete the system and deliver enough power to the demands of modern music production. Selected volume and/or filter settings can be independently fixed with DIP-switches that are positioned on the rear of the amplifier to prevent unauthorised or unintentional adjustments. Bass Port Design It's all in the geometry. One of the downside effects of port compression is bass distortion. As you turn up the volume, the efficiency of the port reduces and distortion will increase. We opted for a large rear rectangular port with no hard edges for our bass port designs. That's one of the reasons EVE monitors have a high efficiency on the lower frequencies. The results? High sound pressures with tight and punchy bass frequencies that don't cause port distortion. Crank up the volume, and EVE will deliver a round bass. And with no holes to look at every time you glance at your speakers.

The new working console for home and studio projects by the creative Glorious hotbed comes with a clearly arranged design and is available in three colour variants. The Glorious manufacturers have worked flat out thus creating a working station that is equally intended for producers, studio engineers and hobby musicians. The construction is extremely robust, assembly can be carried out in no time and the classy piece of furniture offers space for important objects from the producing daily routine. Whether amplifier, studio mixer, microphone, keyboard, headphones or other equipment: Everything can be stored ergonomically and it all remains in reach. The pull-out drawer is very convenient for placing a master keyboard on top. When no longer required the drawer can easily and comfortably be pushed back thus facilitating a comfortable workflow for PC keyboard and equipment. The Glorious Modular Mix Station is ideally suited for use as a DJ table, while also offering the possibility of storing vinyl.
