The A33ANV was the first in the AN33 series to feature a Duralumin cantilever, which received wide acclaim for its sound quality. The AT-MONO3/LP is a high-output (1.2 mV) moving coil cartridge designed specifically for use with mono vinyl records.* Due to the horizontal configuration of its PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) voice coils, the AT-MONO3/LP cartridge only generates electrical signal with horizontal movement, yet it also has appropriate compliance in the vertical direction, making it safe for use with stereo records. The voice coils are wired in series, resulting in one mono signal that is transmitted to the cartridge’s white-blue terminals and red-green terminals in order to feed both inputs of a stereo phono preamp. The cartridge’s low-mass 0.6 mil conical stylus is mounted on an aluminum cantilever for excellent tracking performance. Because the AT-MONO3/LP does not easily pick up unnecessary strain components from distorted or scratched records, it produces mono audio of a much higher quality than that generated by a stereo cartridge. The cartridge features a strong, rigid body of die-cast aluminum alloy and synthetic resin to eliminate unnecessary vibrations. * This cartridge with 0.6 mil conical stylus is not compatible with SP (standard play) shellac records. It is designed to play mono microgroove 33-1/3 vinyl records.

The Audio Technica AT-MONO3/SP cartridge is special – redesigning not just the needle, but the whole cartridge specially for “shellac” or phonograph records. A high output moving coil cartridge of excellent production quality and wound with PCOCC coil for signal purity, it is designed to deliver excellent fidelity and superb clarity when playing 78 RPM mono records. With its high output of 1.2 mV, it can be used without additional pre-amplification or a MC transformer.Proven in use for many years in Japan, the Audio-Technica AT-MONO3/SP cartridge in now available in Europe and helps to bring back the pure joy of discovery and listening pleasure for 78 RPM record playing.Made specifically for mono recordings, the cartridge only generates signal with horizontal movement. This technique allows for precise control of the density of the body material, allowing for extremely high internal damping.The MC Verismo makes use of Ortofon’s Replicant 100 diamond. This Line Contact type stylus distinguishes itself by having a narrow and long contact surface, which is as close as possible to the original cutting stylus.
