Advanced Phase Precision Driver To reproduce music with enhanced spatial sound expressivity requires that the wavefronts of sounds coming from the speaker unit are all aligned when they reach the listener regardless of the listening position. The concept of point sound source is one of the ideal approaches to achieve it. To realise the point sound source reproduction, the coaxial configuration was adopted and then it was combined with the originally shaped Linear Phase Plug for aligning phases and the Smooth Flow Diaphragm formed with a shallow-shape diaphragm and smooth edge shape for minimum sound reflection. The SB-G90M2’s 2-way coaxial speaker unit was newly developed for the reproduction of the mid- to high-frequency range in order to realise the clear sound image localisation and high sound quality to deliver smooth, emotion-rich music, while inheriting the concepts of point sound source and linear phase that Technics pursues relentlessly. Linear Phase Plug The originally shaped acoustic plug is positioned on the front side of the tweeter diaphragm and provides a high-resolution sound reproduction capability and a wide sound stage. The tip of the Linear Phase Plug is made from a high-modulus, high-density brass material. It prevents the plug from vibrating unnecessarily due to the effect of the vibration of the mid-range unit, thus delivering clear and low-distortion sound. Smooth Flow Diaphragm When sound wave propagates along an irregular surface, its wavefront becomes disturbed due to the surface irregularities and results in the degradation of frequency characteristics.This affects particularly the characteristics of high frequencies with short wavelengths. The diaphragm of the mid-range unit, which is part of the coaxial speaker unit, has a shallow shape with a smooth edge to reduce sound reflections so that the disturbance to the sounds radiated from the diaphragm is minimised, resulting in excellent frequency response, phase characteristic and wide directivity. This configuration achieves a wide sound stage and smooth and rich mid- to high-frequency range. Stationary Construction To reproduce the sound of music with a high S/N ratio, sources of all undesirable or unwanted sound have been eliminated completely. To that end, the balanced driver mounting architecture adopted by the previous SB-G90 model was further optimised through the extensive CAE analysis and the speaker mount baffle was newly developed for the secure mounting of the speaker units. In addition, the rigidity of the entire cabinet was strengthened to take advantage of the balanced driver mounting architecture. The strength and shape of each and every one of the parts composing the coaxial speaker was reviewed painstakingly in order to remove unwanted vibrations and noise as completely as possible. What’s more, a sound path structure is provided inside the cabinet. This new and unique structure effectively eliminate standing waves that cause a resonance peak. Balanced Driver Mounting Architecture Unwanted vibrations generated by the speaker mount baffle have been further reduced by improving the vent holes using CAE and by allowing the one-piece woofer amount baffle to penetrate the bottom board for achieving higher rigidity. What’s more, the optimised vent holes improve the distribution of sound radiated from the back sides of speakers for enhanced response. In addition, the coaxial speaker mount baffle is separated from the woofer mount baffle to eliminate the mutual interference. Together, they further enhance the crispness of sound and three dimensional presentation of sound field. Standing Wave Termination Structure A resonance called standing wave is usually generated inside the speaker cabinet by the sound of a certain frequency determined by the cabinet size. The most common method to eliminate the standing wave is to install a sound absorbing material inside the cabinet. However, since sound absorbing material also absorbs sound at frequencies other than the one that generates a standing wave, it somewhat removes dynamism or vividness from the reproduced sound. As a countermeasure, a sound path structure is provided at the bottom of the woofer cabinet to guide the standing waves. Sound absorbing material is installed at the location in the sound path where the speed of sound becomes fastest. This enables the efficient removal of standing waves, which are the cause of resonance peaks, with a minimum amount of sound absorbing material. (Patented) This structure allows the use of all information necessary for accurately reproducing music so the speaker system realises more vivid and natural medium- and low-frequency sound.

Coreless Direct Drive Motor Achieving Stable Rotation The direct drive system uses a slow-turning motor to directly drive the platter. This system has various advantages. It offers high performance, such as rotation accuracy and powerful torque, does not require replacement of parts and maintains high reliability over a long period of time. On the other hand, the direct drive system was said to produce a rotation irregularity called cogging. For the SL-1200MK7, a new coreless direct drive motor was developed. This motor employs a coreless stator. The removal of the core (iron core) from the stator eliminated the root cause of cogging. Furthermore, the magnetic force of the rotor magnets was improved to the highest possible level, and the gap between the coreless stator and rotor magnets was optimised, thus achieving high-torque-performance equaling that of the SL-1200MK5. Boasting smooth rotation and powerful torque, this motor reproduces sound accurately and faithfully from the groove on an analogue record. Diverse New Functions Adapt to Various Playing Styles Torque / Brake Speed Adjustment The newest digital motor control technology, accumulated through the development of Blu-ray disc products, is applied to improve adjustment by allowing the torque and brake speed to be adjusted individually in four steps. The Pitch Control Function The pitch control function allows fine adjustment of the rotation speed within ±8 % / ±16 %. It does this through digital control, from positional detection of the slider to rotational control of the motor, eliminating the unnecessary DA conversion. This greatly improves tracking performance to achieve accurate and stable pitch adjustment. Reverse Play Function The reverse play function, which brings forth new possibilities of creative performance, makes its first appearance in the SL-1200 Series. In addition to 33-1/3 rpm and 45 rpm, a rotation speed of 78 rpm is supported. *The torque / brake speed adjustment, rotation speed switch, and reverse play can be adjusted by switches on the main unit. High Sensitive Tonearm The tonearm, which has continued to support the leading edge of the DJ scene for many years, inherits the highly reliable static-balance universal S-shape tonearm. Using high-precision bearings, it achieves a higher initial-motion sensitivity than the SL-1200MK6. This accurately tracks the groove on the phonorecord to assure excellent tracking performance with minimum stylus jumping even in harsh playing conditions such as scratching. Stylus Illuminator Featuring a High-brightness and Long-life White LED The stylus illuminator features a new push-type structure for intuitive operation, and employs a high-brightness and long-life white LED. The illumination area and intensity were reviewed to provide improved visibility of the stylus tip even in a dark environment. Power / Phono Cable Terminals The power and phono cable terminals allow detachment of the cables. The phono terminals are gold-plated to minimise sound quality degradation. Since the terminals allow disconnection of the cables, maintenance of the cables is easier. High-rigidity Cabinet and High-damping Insulator The chassis, an essential part for reducing external vibrations, inherits the audio quality enhancement technology fostered through the development of high-end turntables. The aluminium die-cast chassis is rigidly integrated with a special material consisting of ABS mixed with glass fibre to achieve a two-layer construction. The combination of this special high-rigidity material and a metal chassis raised the rigidity and vibration-damping performance to higher levels, realising a robust cabinet for beautiful sound reproduction. The insulator is comprised of a spring and rubber to provide optimal frequency characteristics. This not only assures high sound quality and superb howling resistance, but also effectively shuts out external vibrations under high sound level conditions.

Diverse New Functions Adapt to Various Playing Styles Torque / Brake Speed Adjustment The newest digital motor control technology, accumulated through the development of Blu-ray disc products, is applied to improve adjustment by allowing the torque and brake speed to be adjusted individually in four steps. The Pitch Control Function The pitch control function allows fine adjustment of the rotation speed within ±8% / ±16%. It does this through digital control, from positional detection of the slider to rotational control of the motor, eliminating the unnecessary DA conversion. Coreless Direct Drive Motor Conventional analogue turntables have problems with degradation in sound quality caused by factors such as minute speed vibration during rotation and rotation irregularity called "cogging." Το Debut Carbon EVO εστιάζει ακριβώς στα σημεία που κάνουν ένα πικάπ να ακούγεται τέλειο. Τεχνικά έχει σωστό σχεδιασμό, πολύ προσεγμένη εμφάνιση και φυσικά είναι χειροποίητο και φτιαγμένο στην Ευρώπη. Το σώμα του είναι από MDF και με τα 8 περάσματα βαφής στο χέρι έχει τη καλύτερη οπτική και αίσθηση που είχε ποτέ. Debut Carbon EVO TPE platter Project Audio Το πλατό του, βάρους 1,7kg είναι βαρύτερο από κάθε άλλο πλατό που κυκλοφορεί σε αυτή τη κατηγορία τιμής. Αποτελείται από μέταλλο και στο εσωτερικό του η project έχει βάλει ένα δακτυλίδι από TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). Τα μεταλλικά πλατό έχουν το μειονέκτημα του μεγάλου συντονισμού αλλά με τη χρήση του TPE όχι μόνο κατάφερε να τον εξαλείψει τελείως αλλά και να δημιουργήσει με αυτό το τρόπο μια κινούμενη εσωτερική ενέργεια. Αυτή η ενέργεια είναι το φαινόμενο του flywheel effect! Το αποτέλεσμα είναι η ακόμα πιο ομαλή και αθόρυβη λειτουργία! Στο Debut Carbon EVO έχει επανασχεδιαστεί η ανάρτηση του μοτέρ. Βελτιώθηκε η αρχική σχεδίαση για να μειώσουν ακόμα περισσότερο τους ανεπιθύμητους κραδασμούς. Στο μπροστινό μέρος από τη κάτω μεριά υπάρχει διακόπτης 3 καταστάσεων για να ελέγχεται με ηλεκτρονικό κύκλωμα η ταχύτητα αναπαραγωγής. Τα ολοκαίνουργια αλουμινένια πόδια στήριξης μπορούν να ρυθμιστούν σε 3 ύψη για να ταιριάζει τέλεια σε οποιοδήποτε επιφάνεια. Έρχεται με την πασίγνωστη κεφαλή MM της Ortofon, την 2M Red, η οποία προσφέρει δυναμικό ήχο με μεγάλη έκταση συχνοτήτων και παράλληλα τον ζεστό ήχο της αναλογικής αναπαραγωγής. Ο βραχίονας είναι 8,6”, ενιαίας σχεδίασης, από ανθρακονήματα. Πολύ ελαφρύς, πολύ σταθερός και προσφέρει πολύ καλή ποιότητα ήχου και μεγάλη μουσική σκηνή. Στην έξοδο του συναντάμε τα επίχρυσα RCA για να μπορούμε να βάλουμε όποιο καλώδιο πικάπ θέλουμε αν και ήδη περιέχεται το καλώδιο Connect It E της Project Audio που προσφέρει άριστη σύνδεση μεταξύ του πικάπ και του ενισχυτή ή προενισχυτή Πικάπ.
