The dark wood decor housing, as well as the baffle and removable black fabric cover should by no means be interpreted as attempts to be discreet. 2.5-way bass reflex floorstanding speaker with a fully-fledged configuration Anyone who has ever wondered whether there are any multi-functional and fully active speakers in fully-fledged dimensions can now answer their question with a resounding yes. With the same front width as the 3A, the Monitor Reference 5A stands 908 mm tall, making it a full-size floorstanding speaker. This format leaves you in no doubt as to whether you have a real hi-fi system in front of you. COMPACT, BUT WITH A SOUND OF A MUCH LARGER MODEL The tweeter dome measures 25 mm (like its siblings) and is driven by the tried and tested, powerful ferrite magnet. Underneath there are two 170 mm chassis. One caters for the all-important vocal range as a bass-midrange driver, while the second is designed purely for reproducing the deep bass range. The use of materials really makes an impact here - the floorstanding speaker of the Monitor Reference series delves right down to a frequency of 28 Hz. Nevertheless, the 5A boasts a slim visual appearance and can therefore be set up in any living room environment. EVERYTHING FOR THE BASS The specially hardened and coated material has been constructed in a dual cone configuration measuring an impressive 30 cm in diameter. The drive is provided by a 70 mm high-performance coil and a 170 mm ferrite magnet. Together with the bonded and additionally stitched longthrow surround, the overall result is a sub that has been optimized using Klippel laser technology and can optimally reproduce frequencies between 18 and 200 Hz. UP TO 1100 WATTS OF BRUTE POWER The integrated Class-D power amplifier delivers a brutal 525 watts in continuous operation and up to 1100 watts of peak power. The high-speed DSP also linearizes the frequency response and enables continuous adjustment of the crossover frequency, the phase and the adjustable bass extension at 35 Hz. This means all of the prerequisites are in place for harmonious integration of the Omega CS 12 into a hi-fi or home cinema system. TIMELESS, COMPACT, SOLID It couldn´t be much more compact: The developers have constructed an ultra-solid MDF housing that is hardly any larger than the 12 inch chassis. The enclosed construction radiates sound towards the front of the unit and thus minimizes room interference. In its high-gloss black finish, the Omega CS 12 is discreet yet elegant at the same time, immaterial whether it´s located in a prominent position or set up discreetly in the background. Regardless of whether you have audiophile shelf speakers, floorstanding speakers or a home cinema solution - one or more active subwoofers such as the CS 12 are always a welcome addition. It always remains controlled and precise on account of the integrated amplifier with power up to 280 watts being perfectly matched to the Klippel-optimized chassis, with active frequency response equalization ensuring that the Sub 300 A fits into any AV environment. For optimum adjustment to the room, the signal phase can be rotated by up to 180°. The crossover frequency can be freely selected between 40 and 120 Hz, depending on the speakers used.
